A sweet simple Christmas time read. This is a nice little story but lacks any real depth. Everything comes together perfectly. Josh and Nick are sweet together but I found their pet names and sex scenes a little too cloying. Daniel was an enjoyable addition but again at times just that little bit too perfect An enjoyable but easily forgettable read.

This is the third book of Ms. Anderson that I read (the other two are just too saccharine for me). This one, for me, is better than the other two. I'm a sucker for kids in ANY M/M romance; so having one in here is a bonus. Both Josh and Nick are likeable protagonists, though I have my favor towards Nick. And both contemplating good and bad of dating one's boss/employee. BUT, I'm very, very annoyed when they're already get into the relationship, with the use of "baby" as terms of endearment. This is a very personal opinion, okay, might not even sound objective -- but I truly DISLIKE the word "baby" ... it's my least favorite terms of endearment. If it appears once or twice, I can take it, BUT reading those words said by Josh, over and over again just rubs me in the wrong way. Plus, I prefer reading the men in the story to say each other's name during sex, not using generic word like "baby" -- just to make sure that they actually know who they're sleeping with *grin*. That is why, I sort of skipping pages during the last two chapters; and practically don't care about them anymore It's not the author's fault what-so-ever, but I think I just don't have "chemistry" with her stories :p

This was a cute story about a little boy, Danny, asking God for someone to take care of him and his uncle, Josh, and how he gets his wish in the form of Nick, who Josh hires as the nanny. The only thing that put me off was how quick Josh proposed to Nick. They barely knew each other a month and already they're going to get married. It was at the end but it still nagged me a bit. Then Danny said 'thank you' to God and his parents and I kinda got over it. Lol A great start to a new series and I'd recommend it if you are looking for something cute and happy. :-)

I really enjoyed this heartwarming story about Daniel, a young orphan, who wishes for someone to come love and care for him and his Uncle Josh. I liked the characters and it was nice to see the slow development of the relationship between Josh and Nick, who turns out to be the answer to Daniel's prayers. Very sweet! I had such fun with Andi Anderson first foray into the publishing world with a Christmas offering which I enjoyed immensely and THE CHRISTMAS WISH one of her latest was no less enjoyable to read for me. The blurb is quite detail in terms of what’s in the book , so I wont go through the whole thing. This is definately on the sweeter side to read with fun characters that pulls at your heartstring with how desperate they need each other but just could not take that next step to getting there. read mo I had such fun with Andi Anderson first foray into the publishing world with a Christmas offering which I enjoyed immensely and THE CHRISTMAS WISH one of her latest was no less enjoyable to read for me. Well anyway, you can tell I wasn't terribly impressed. It's a simple story -- emotionally remote man takes on the care of his young nephew after nephew's parents are killed. Everyone is unhappy for a year. Man then hires a live in manny for nephew (a nurse can AFFORD a live in manny?? Really??). Naturally, they fall in love. The End.

2011 Review: Ugh. Okay, I read another short by the same author before this and I can sum them all up with: boring. Well, and extremely amateurish. All the actual character development stuff is just told in between scenes of mutual attraction. Got bored to death here. Oh well. I decided after I just started on the first two pages of this that I’ll hit something intelligent up next, even if it might be slightly dangerous and/or kinky. I need some quality back in my life.

His Christmas Wish is Josh and Nick's story about love, finding family, and making Daniel's Christmas wish come true. This was a sweet Christmas story. Nick is the missing link: he compliments Josh's life and solidifies the relationship between Josh and Daniel. With Nick, Josh and Daniel become the family they both longed for. I liked the characters. Daniel was cute and I loved Fred, their chubby basset hound. While this is technically a friends to lovers story, I also consider it insta-love (blech!) because (view spoiler)[within a matter of weeks, Josh and Daniel are wholeheartedly in love and engaged to be married (hide spoiler)] . I did, however, appreciate that they took things slow, especially considering they started as employer/employee. On the down side, I felt there was too much telling and not enough showing in this book. Also, the story was a little boring for me because there was absolutely no angst, tension, mystery, or anything. It was nothin' but happy, happy, joy, joy once Nick entered the picture in chapter one; and, it was saccharine sweet to boot. Bottom line: an angst-free (but saccharine sweet) Christmas story about finding family.

Of course the minute they kiss they are madly in love and will be together ever and ever. I really think Christmas stories should not include new relationships or should at least be mandatory HFN. If you've only known someone 2-3 weeks, even if living in the same house. So for those who enjoy stories with kids, and Daniel was pretty good as kids go in romance books, and who don't mind a pretty good dose of sugar, it's a good choice. Just a little rushed at the end in the relationship department.

I am such a sucker for books with kids in them if the kids are written right. Daniel was perfect. Daniel goes to live with his Uncle Josh (his mom's brother) after the death of his parents. For over a year Josh does what he can but he always feels as if he is failing Daniel somehow. Daniel, sad because he wants him and Uncle Josh to be happy again, makes a wish to God and to his parents. He wishes for a family. He loves his Uncle Josh but wants more... maybe someone to share their little world. I am such a sucker for books with kids in them if the kids are written right. Daniel was perfect. There is instant attraction between the two but they hold off on acting on it. But when they do it is so sweet. Sure, once they kiss the first time everything happens pretty fast. They get close pretty quick... fall in love pretty quick and decide on forever pretty quick. But it works because of the length of the story. Sweet story with a sweet ending. Another really good one by this author.

OK, so its after Christmas already but I've still got heaps of Christmas stories to catch up on :) I loved this story, Daniel was a little sweetheart and his talks with God at the beginning and end of the story brought tears to my eyes. His Christmas Wish is a gentle and easy to read story about making a child's wish come true that I thought made a wonderful and heartwarming start to Andie Anderson's Men of Charlstown series. I'm looking forward to the next book in the series - Yummy Indulgences. This is an adorable story about a little boy, Daniel, whose parents recently passed away in a car accident. He is sent to live with his Uncle Josh and while they have a nice relationship, it isn't great. They haven't connected, both dealing with their grief. Daniel wishes for someone to make his Uncle Josh happy to bring the family together and that's exactly what he gets with the arrival of his new nanny, Nick. This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers. To view it, click here. I expected a more fleshed out story, but I should've considered the length of the book. I couldn't take most of the sex scenes seriously, sadly. There didn't seem to be much of a deep connection between Josh and Nick and it totally irked me that they were calling each other baby only minutes after having their first kiss. The interaction with Daniel was golden though, the little one stole the spotlight for me. I expected a more fleshed out story, but I should've considered the length of the book. Better than book 1, but still not great... I like the story very much, and the characters are pretty well-rounded people, but the repetitive language yanked me out of the story every time. One doesn't have a sentence containing "their kisses started heating up" end with the word "each heated kiss." However, I did manage to not be bothered by the extraneous commas or the run-on sentences -- as I said, this was a better story than the first one. We'll see how #3 is... Andi Anderson does a fabulous job of developing the relationship between Nick and Josh, add in the touch of Josh being guardian of his nephew Daniel, and Anderson shows in-depth gay connection between the men. Not normally one who reads M/M novels/novellas, I was intrigued by Anderson's writing style and would recommend this book to all that enjoy erotica, romance or GLTB. It's very very sweet, and very fast transition from nice to meet you to lets get married. All characters are completely perfect, as well. Reread Feb 2017: I assume my tastes have changed since I read this because now I'd rate it a 2. It was very sugary (and I love fluff!), too many "baby" endearments and everything went really really quickly without much story behind it. What could be sweeter than a little boy's prayer for his Uncle to be happy and for them to be a real family again. The story is short so the relationship between Uncle Josh and Nick seems a bit rushed yet despite that their feelings seem very real and the joy that comes to all of them is a true Christmas miracle. I absolutely fell in love with Daniel, he was such a sweet and loving little boy. I was so choked up reading him talking to God at the beginning and then again at the end. It was sweet how Nick and Josh came together and I loved that Daniel got his biggest wish for his Uncle Josh to fall in love with someone that would take care of all of them. On to book 2.
