a synopsis of his life, campaign and 100 first days in white house. no juicy details beyond his pot smoking and cocain sniffing. a true metamorphosis of an exceptional man that now is also a historic figure. bit disappointing was the fact that the book is dry, very much a summary not good story telling.

A pretty solid 3 stars, the beginning of this was very interesting, but the heavy political stuff did get a bit wordy and complicated after the 2nd half. I did learn some things throughout, though, and it's an easy way to digest some of the facts. Mostly interesting. Also, damn, I miss having someone intelligent with a real, full life (and past) leading our county.

This book claims it is un-biased, but I'd say it was leaning Obama...which is fine with me; glad I read it. This is a fun, quick way to learn about the current President of the United States. Whatever one's political beliefs, I feel it is important to be educated about the man who was chosen to lead our country. (On a personal note: let's hear it for civility and moderation in politics! Let's hear it for supporting and praying for our President, whether or not we agree with all he says and does!) (On a more personal note: I like him; I respect him; I think he's a peacemaker, a great husband and father, and an honorable man. And those things mean everything to me.)

It's a breathlessly awed recap of President Obama's early life, rise, campaign, and first hundred days. It's a refreshing read, now in the thick of the successive administration, but in the same way the West Wing was the best hour of TV during the Bush administration. Comforting, but nigh irrelevant.

I really enjoyed learning much more about Obama in this unusual way. There was a lot of information about his childhood, adolescence, and a very detailed narrative about his campaign and his first 100 days in office. I particularly enjoyed reading his amazing speeches in small speech bubbles. :). The reader is left with adoration for Obama so it is definitely pro-Obama, Not unbiased. If this were to be a concise narrative of his campaign and presidency, I do find it a striking omission that race I really enjoyed learning much more about Obama in this unusual way. If this were to be a concise narrative of his campaign and presidency, I do find it a striking omission that race is barely mentioned as well as all of the harassment he received for his suspected lack of citizenship and stuff. I know that that is petty and that the author probably did not want to give credit to such nonsense, but it was certainly an important reflection of the culture at the time. It did warrant some attention. I'd give it a higher rating if it weren't in graphic novel format. I really dislike graphic novels. I just wanted to check this one out to see if I wanted it in our library. It is not easy reading. I would say the reading level and requisite vocabulary and government background knowledge is quite high to be able to understand this book... I do want to end on a good note hereā€¦ Obama is a truly amazing person.

It was nice to be able to read a quick biography of the president. I enjoyed learning more about his childhood and adolescence; it really helped me understand where he's coming from. I wished there was more about his college days and early career as a politician. It seemed to skip to the presidential campaign pretty quickly and then it wasn't as interesting because I knew the rest of the story. I only caught one mistake, but I'm no expert--there may have been others. Good artwork, good biographi It was nice to be able to read a quick biography of the president. I am a huge supporter of Obama and I really like this :) Not only does it show how amazing he is but it also showed he wasn't perfect and he has his own faults. It's nice to see Obama's story laid out in this style. Also not going to lie I got a kick out of how Palin is portrayed and it's not a lie. I am not a huge fan of hers and the picture of her in the bikini toting a gun had me laughing!

If you want a short summary of Obama's early life and the 2008 election, this isn't bad.
