Jane Brocket is my newest mentor, life coach, guru...! My daughter Ashley introduced me to her blog awhile ago and we became fast friends. She is English (another reason for my crush!) and wonderfully talented and inspirational in all things domestic, artistic and literary. She speaks to everything that I lack, but without the reproachful intimidation such as "Martha". Her books are amazing and Ripping Things To Do, needs to be a part of every home library. This one has a much better index than Cherry Cake and Ginger Beer: A Golden Treasury of Classic Treats. This one has a much better index than Cherry Cake and Ginger Beer: A Golden Treasury of Classic Treats.

Loved this book, makes you want to move to the county and breed like rabbits. Great ideas for raising kids, in idyllic little England.

This is a lovely book, despite me struggling to understand some of the references because most of my background is in American vs. British children's literature- but the games and activities are still delightfully fun. I read thru most of this before setting it aside as a DNF. I think if I was a mother/grandmother this book would be more interesting to me.
