I finished this book in a day and it was a sheer delight. I’ve only read one other book by Leanne Banks and it was Hot Stuff, co-authored with Janet Evanovich. So I really had no idea what to expect when picked it up as I had never read a book written by Banks on her own. But I did have a vague idea that it would enjoyable. Thankfully it was more than that. Billionaire Extraordinaire was a sheer, lovely delight from start to finish. And one of the better contemporary romances I’ve read in a while. Billionaire Extraordinaire was a sheer, lovely delight from start to finish. And one of the better contemporary romances I’ve read in a while. Emma Weatherfield is worried. She has been assigned as an Administrative Assistant to Damien Medici, a billionaire who has been chosen to reorganize Megalos-De-Luca Enterprises, the company she works for. And reorganization means cutting jobs. She’s been asked by her two former bosses, Alex and Max, to spy on Damien and make sure that she reports all information necessary to protect the company directly to them. Emma knows that she can do this. All she has to do is fake it and she’s been faking it since she was six years old. But she doesn’t count on Damien Medici being so incredibly good looking and handsome. Nor does she count on that little flare of desire that erupts inside of her every time she looks at him. Damien has his own agenda as well: years ago, the Megalos-De-Luca family ruined the Medici’s, leaving them in poverty and Damien and his brothers in foster care. He sees this contract as the perfect way to settle an old score. And he will achieve this using whatever means necessary. Even if this means seducing Emma to gather information of his own. What he doesn’t count on is falling for Emma Weatherfield. Revenge is much more difficult when the heart, and emotions, are involved… This is a fabulous read. It’s under 200 pages so it’s a quick one, but I wasn’t able to put it down and was hooked from page one. The writing is crisp and funny, the desire is full of fire and passion. It’s a great read whether your on the beach or you wish you were. If you want a great romantic read, pick up Billionaire Extraordinaire; it will leave you breathless and wanting more!

Bestselling author, Leanne Banks, has written a wonderful story about Damien Medici, a handsome billionaire bent on revenge, and Emma Weatherfield, his lovely new secretary, who gets in the way of his plans. Emma needs to get close to Damien to discover what he’s plotting. Unfortunately, Emma doesn’t anticipate his powerful attraction, the way Damien sweeps her off her feet or this delicious heart-stopping romance that may very well leave both of them breathless.

The main reason I couldn't give this a higher review is it's length. The characters were interesting and realistic. The plot was well developed (to a point). I've read other books by Leanne Banks that are not so confined and the difference is noticeable. Unfortunately in the final 3rd or so of this one it felt rushed and lacking. Will I continue to read Harlequin publications? Yes. Will I continue to complain about this issue? More than likely. Will that stop me from enjoying what good writing is present? NOPE. Overall if you are looking for a quick read this would be good choice.

Review posted @ http://tsukibooks.blogspot.com This is one of those where I actually feel sorry for the heroine. She is stuck in rough place throughout the entire book and no one seems apologetic about it. Damien is the efficiency fixer. He comes into a company and stream-lines it in order to make the company more efficient and possibly turn a profit. He comes into Megalos-De-Luca Enterprises to get revenge on the family at the head of the company for doing something to his grandfather years ago. Apparently it ruined the family or something. Emma is assigned to be his assistant but is, of course, a double-agent. She is expected to get close to Damien and learn what he plans to do. Then she can report it to her bosses so they can prepare the company to either circumvent him or give-in. At the same time Damien expected to turn her onto his side and have her report against her bosses. The poor girl is stuck in the middle the entire time and no one seems to care. Damien and Emma have an a pretty instant connection and they begin dancing around each other. Damien is a decent guy and Emma recognizes that as she gets to know him. At the same time she feels incredibly guilty about the deception she is a part of and often tries to distance herself. Of course Emma has a history of getting stuck in the middle of things. Her mother is addicted to gambling and of course Emma bails her out regularly. Clearly she is used to being put in the middle by those around her. The story, overall, was a little lackluster. Clearly the misunderstanding was going to occur when he tried to take revenge on her bosses. She would then realize he was being nice to her to get information. Upset occurred and it was up to him to make it right. Oh and there was that bit about the mother relapsing and Damien helping her get into a rehabilitation center. Either way it was a bit...boring as the book carried on. I was a little disappointed the possible intrigue and conversations about duplicity and deception were missing. It was another case of "I love you, I'm sorry" and then everything was okay. 3 Stars Published by Harlequin April 1, 2009 192 Pages Provided by--the Library (Courtesy of Silhouette May 2009 Bundle e-book)

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers. To view it, click here. The heroine was manipulated by 3 different men at the same time, pulling her in two different directions. The book did have a good flow of a storyline, not many slow places, but could've done a bit better with the characters and letting the reader know how much length of time has passed. It was ok, neither hero or heroine were mean and neither had any major character flaws, I just found it little bit boring. Np.

Damien was hired for a company, to fire all unneeded employees and make the company better because it's profit was low. When he discovers Emma as his secretary he is immediately attracted to her and her to him. What Emma doesn't know is Damien is doing all this for revenge, even when he uses her, except he hasn't faced the fact he's in love with her. Unfortunately this novel was very typical to the other harlequins I have read, there was nothing spectacular about it. Damien, I love fuckin' you *eh... I mean I fuckin' love you, hahahaha. Actually this book almost has the similarity with another of harlequins' story: pura-pura bikin jatuh cinta- eh tapinya cinta beneran, pakek gengsi pulak ngakuinnya (apalah ini inggrisnya :D), revenge and the plot was going in flashback. But in other side, I like the internal conflict between Damien and Emma. Gladly, I wanna in Emmas' position. (Damien-nya family man banget *mata lophe-lophe*). Damien, I love fuckin' you *eh... Damien goes into this business deal with revenge for his grandfather in his mind. His attraction to the assistant assigned to him to spy just a bonus. He plans to woo Emma into his bed and gain her loyalty while she's there. Her spilling secrets to him while she's there is all part of his plan. Don't you love how plans sometimes backfire? I do. I love Leanne Banks and this book just reenforces why. Damien goes into this business deal with revenge for his grandfather in his mind. I liked this book. I liked the character, situations, and the outcomes from the problems that were present. This book is good for relaxing and passing time. Not a serious page-turner (action/suspense) but good for a break from nerve racking pages. I would read this again but more for something to read than searching it out.

The plot was a bit weak for my taste but I gave it a go because I'm a fan of Ms Banks. Although the narration and prose is as good as her other books, that was all that had going for the book. I did not feel enough connection between the main characters for their story to really make an impression on me. The plot was a bit weak for my taste but I gave it a go because I'm a fan of Ms Banks. This story was okay. It had an interesting enough plot but moved kind of slow. What you knew was going to happen waited until the last couple pages and resolved too quickly. Emma is asked to be secretary for and spy on Damien whose job is to restructure the company.

Read as some light relief from heavier stuff I;m reading at present. These are too short really, but I did find some of the descriptions of character too similar to the last Billionaires novel I read - was a bit typical, prescribed and thin on the ground.
