Breeze O'day is an astrogeologist researching the sand on this desert planet when she mysteriously crashes out in the middle of nowhere, where only Tack can rescue her. With a monsterous sand storm keeping them trapped together in Tack's little house, they have to confront their pasts and their growing attraction to each other. Breeze and Tack both are a little bit older characters and they both have traumatic events in their recent pasts. Breeze is in hiding from her very violent abusive ex-husband. While Tack is recovering from his last mission, which had dire personal consequences. Neither are good at interacting with others. After a bumpy beginning Breeze and Tack peel back each others layers a little to see the real person underneath. This was sweet and sexy. Both are nursing some fragile hearts that are trying to heal. As Breeze and Tack start to act on their attraction and building a good foundation of trust, they get rocked by someone nefarious trying to kill one and frame the other. Only if they can see through the betrayal of others will they be able to make it through alive. Wonderful, entertaining story with good action, and sweet heat. I'm looking forward to the next installment with Axel that will continue the overarching storyline. Even though this is an ARC review, I will always shoot you straight. Cara Bristol launched a new series of Cyborg Romances with Blown Away and I was on high alert until I had the chance to devour it in one sitting. Tack fought in the military’s special ops cyborg unit until he discovered that an alien enemy had infiltrated his own home and used its shapeshifting ability to look like his human wife Sarah and attack powerful human dignitaries when they went to high profile events together. His feelings of guilt and that he’s inadequate for not catching on sooner have overwhelmed him so he takes a leave of absence. He isolates himself on a newly opened world with few good points- plenty of water and breathable atmosphere. Sand covers the world and flows everywhere, but is lethal when pushed by the wind into a storm. His isolation is invaded and he finds that she is the very person who can put his broken soul back together. Breeze is a scientist studying the phenomena of the alien sand and its odd properties. She has a theory and the experiments to back it up that promises to be an amazing and colossal game-changing scientific find. Her dilemma is that by presenting her find she might very well be painting a red target on her back since she came to this isolated world not simply to work, but to hide. Who knew the cranky cyborg who rescues her from a crash during a sandstorm turns out to be the only person she can trust to keep her alive long enough to get the important data to those who need to know. Once again, Cara Bristol goes above and beyond to deliver a splendid alien setting, intriguing plot, and characters I could root for from the get-go. They both came with deep, painful past situations and this makes them ideal for helping each other open up and start to heal. Their chemistry was strong even when they were not happy to be stuck together, but it was fun to see them unsnarl it all. I had my suspicious about certain events and was happily proved right later. The surprise of Breeze’s findings was so cool. I can’t wait to see what comes next not just for Breeze and Tack, but for the future couples who will help continue the story. The introduction of Tack’s cyborg buddy and the new scientist coming to help Breeze with the sand study are already giving off plenty of sparks. All in all, it was a fab start and did the job of establishing the world of the series and getting me excited for what comes next. Those who enjoy sci-fi romance with a good amount of sci-fi plot development and spice hot romance should not hesitate to jump in on the ground floor of this new cyborg sci-fi romance series. I rec'd an eARC from the author to read in exchange for an honest review.

Gruff and hot cyborg ahead! I loved reading Tack and Breeze's story. These two are damaged goods, but aren't we all? Luckily, they are absolutely perfect for each other. While Breeze has a total "don't touch me" aura, Tack is a gruff, standoffish hermit who just happens to have a tender caring heart buried beneath the surface. You're going to enjoy this one. After reading the novella prequel to this book, Stone Cold Cyborg, I was so excited to dive in to the cyborg world again! Especially since the prequel was closed door, and I needed some steam this time. Cara Bristol definitely delivered in that department, as well as developing the cyborg world further and taking the reader on a journey to another fascinating planet. In the prequel, there is forced proximity on a ship. In this book, we get one even better - if you think snowbound in a cabin together is hot, then you'll love stuck in a bunker in the middle of a sandstorm. Don't look at me like that, it's amazing. Maybe even better than the one bed trope...maybe. After being forced to kill his wife, who may or may not have been an alien in disguise for their entire marriage, Tack Grayson is taking a well-deserved furlough as he contemplates what he wants to do with his life. After becoming a cyborg over twenty years ago, he had dedicated his life to saving others. But he couldn't even save the woman he loved. Hunkering down in the middle of a planet covered in sand, hundreds of miles away from the nearest settlement, he is certain he will find the solitude he so desperately needs. Of course, that solitude is swiftly shattered when a sandstorm hits, and he finds a transport buried in the sand with an unconscious woman inside. Breeze O'Day is on the verge of a scientific breakthrough when her transport malfunctions, stranding her in the middle of nowhere while a sandstorm rages on. Soon she finds herself being nursed back to health by a stranger, a cyborg accompanied by his cuddly dog, and despite her past history with men, she wants to trust him. Strangely, she is able to stand his close presence longer than most, and soon their initial attraction heats into an inferno. However, they both know things must come to an end. And Breeze is hiding secrets, one of which could lead to her death if it got out. With two MCs who have past trauma, you know you're going to get some angst and emotions. I was enthralled from the very start of the book, and I couldn't put it down as I sped through the pages. Their connection to each other felt like a slow burn even though it wasn't, because they were so set on staying away from each other...at first. But as with all romance where there is forced proximity, that swiftly becomes a plan that is dead in the water. Instead, they find a bond with each other. Tack is naturally prone to protect, especially after his time with C-Force, and Breeze needs a man who can show her that she can be safe again. He can protect her. She has done a great job of protecting herself, of course, but sometimes it's okay to rely on others. They were a great couple, and I wish the book had been even longer so we could spend more time with them. I'm excited to read more in this series - cyborg men just have a quality about them that really excites me...perhaps because they are so strong. And the muscles. The muscles don't hurt. **I received a free copy from the author and this is my honest review.**

Blown Away is the first book in the Cyborg Force series. Breeze might have made a scientific discovery of a lifetime, but she gets caught up in a sand storm on her way to more experiments. As they open up to each other, they can’t deny their attraction, but can they learn to fully trust each other before the danger catches up to Breeze? As they open up to each other, they can’t deny their attraction, but can they learn to fully trust each other before the danger catches up to Breeze? Oh my goodness, I am just thrilled to be back with Ms. Bristol’s cyborgs! Tack and Breeze captured my attention right from the very beginning, and I loved their journey to love from first grumpy meeting, through the danger, and right to the very end where I’m already dying to learn more about this series! Breeze is a survivor, a little warrior in her own right, and constantly chooses to do what’s right, not what’s easy. She doesn’t trust easily, but I loved the connection she felt to Tack. One who can’t trust his own judgement, or other people, Tack only has his dog for company, but I love how he slowly opens up to potential with Breeze. I loved all of their interactions, I loved their passion and connection, and I loved all of the danger they faced. I think one aspect that was really cool about this book is Ms. Bristol’s imagination coming to life through the new environment! And I also liked that while this couple’s relationship is solid by the end of the book, there’s still more to the mystery! I’m excited to see where this series is going to go next!

It was so very easy to become totally immersed in Blown Away. Lots of sand, secrets and danger surround the the female scientist and the cyborg. It isn’t love at first sight but these two damaged people find their way. I loved that the greater part of the story involved only those two. The spice is nice, not too much or too little. Loved the dog too. I was very sorry to reach the end.

Excellent! I really enjoyed this book. I don't read cyborg stories that much, but this was a great read. Great world building. Wonderful characters. The first in a new series set on a desert planet, the story gets off to high-powered start with a massive stand storm throwing together a cyborg suffering from PTSD and a scientist hiding from an abusive ex. The characters are well drawn and believable, their relationship develops quickly but believable when confined together for days by the storm. Mystery, action, steam, and a dog!

Breeze O’Day is an astrogeologist studying the sand on Sajave. It is a safe zone, an escape from a dangerous past for her. But her life will be turned upside down, and she will discover not everyone is trustworthy—who can she trust---friend or new acquaintance? Tack Grayson, a cyborg with C-Force, avoids people and situations and is content living with his dog away from everyone on Sajave. He is on leave from C-Force and trying to decide his future; the last thing he wants is a woman interfering—yet she blows in with a sandstorm. The story’s plot will be full of adventure and intrigue, with a touch of danger and romance. Breeze is late leaving for her following location with advanced equipment to test her soil samples. She has kept her findings a secret, needing more definitive answers before revelation. Her assigned RTC—Rugged Terrain Craft—has been programmed with location directions. Before Breeze arrives, she is caught in one of Sajave’s dangerous sandstorms and cyclones, thrown off course, and lands inside Tack Grayson’s property. Tack will rescue an unconscious Breeze and must keep her safe until the storm abates. But who will be in danger? No communication for days and two people with chemistry between them. Will the past or passion take over? “A riddle wrapped in a mystery inside an enigma.” The story has the good, the bad, and the evil within people. I loved Breeze and Tack together—they needed each other for healing. With her in his personal space, it gave him more time to remember the past and discover the missing link that has haunted him these many months. For Breeze, she will learn that one evil person doesn’t ruin everyone and that Tack is safe, protective, and trustworthy. “I’ll accept your offer to be my bodyguard with benefits.” While the story does not end on a cliffhanger, it does segue into the next story, Gale Force (Cyborg Force 2), featuring Dr. Gayle Chambers and cyborg Axel Vander.

I received a copy from Booksprout; this is my honest review TRIGGER: details of ascending conjugal violence. -Good start to a new series, Tack and Breeze are both damaged and somehow their past brings them together. I love the cover. -Although naïve on many grounds, Breeze is educated but doesn't use her brains most of the time. I would have a hard time being around her. Tack is kind, has a great sense of honor and a good supporter too. I'm glad he got his epiphany too; it eases the pain. -Bandit is I received a copy from Booksprout; this is my honest review TRIGGER: details of ascending conjugal violence. -Good start to a new series, Tack and Breeze are both damaged and somehow their past brings them together. Tack is kind, has a great sense of honor and a good supporter too. I'm glad he got his epiphany too; it eases the pain. -Bandit is something else. "He was a border collie mix ... just as long as he wasn't Tyranian..." Can you imagine if that was the case? It's probably not but wow. The dog is smart and a great companion & partner for Tack. -Cute saying: "Sajave presented a riddle wrapped in a mystery inside an enigma"; it also perfectly defines the story. The only problem is that I figured out the riddle, mystery and enigma by 15%. -I had to laugh every time one or the other inserted their "secret code" or anything similar. A code is secret to start with. -My big LOL: "She was nosy. I liked her better ... unconscious.". -I was really surprised when Breeze opens up her sample case and there's no lock. This is the find of the century and there's no lock?! -I didn't like the part where they talk about food and being omnivores by nature. Most of what is said there is false and I'm not sure why it was there in the first place. For example, we're anatomically herbivorous and plants do have proteins; who says it needs to come from animals? When combined properly, plants, nuts and vegetables have all the essential amino acids.

“I much preferred brutal honesty to cloaked malice.” Color me Blown Away, I can’t wait for more of this series. Breeze took this job to get away from where she was, but now she’s so caught up in the thrill of discovery she could forget her past entirely, if she wasn’t emotionally haunted by it, and slightly terrified it could come back to haunt her if she discovers something newsworthy. Tack is a cyborg who isn’t sure he belongs in the field. Tack is a cyborg who isn’t sure he belongs in the field. A soldier with major trust issues may not be the guy his buddies want guarding their back. This done in one revolves around two people who’ve lived long enough to have their fair share of baggage. Their struggling to figure out how to carry their own loads, but when the planet Sajave throws them together they gradually discover they can help each other, to heal, and to carry that baggage. A beautiful story about trust, the pain and risk that can come with relationships, and learning to see the world around you in a new way. I was gifted with a copy of this book and chose to share my review.

Breeze should have known better, but it made for good reading anyway. Her trust instinct was messed up and she blindly trusted the wrong men. That was believable, lots of women do that. When she crashed into Tack's life, things definitely started looking up for her. I enjoyed the way these two broken individuals learned to trust each other and worked to solve the mystery that develops right from the beginning. There were very exciting parts to this book, and the scientific idea that Breeze is in Breeze should have known better, but it made for good reading anyway. There were very exciting parts to this book, and the scientific idea that Breeze is investigating is something that I've never read before, so it was fun to think about. Tack had a lot of baggage, and it took him a while to warm up to Breeze, but Bandit helped, you can't fault a dog's judgment in people. The relationship between Tack and Breeze takes a little bit to develop and the angst that they both feel is natural considering their collective pasts. I enjoyed reading this story and I'm hoping that Axel and Gayle have an interesting story to tell too! I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

But thank goodness Breeze is not a fool. This was great. I felt let we had a new Mettle team at work. C-Force is as protective of their women and the Mettle ones. Looking forward to finding out about Axel and Gayle in Gayle Force.

Forced to spend time together, Tack finds out more about her research project and knows that this could put her in danger. Will she accept his help? Or will she try to do it alone and put herself into serious danger? And if she survives, will they perhaps have a chance to find their own HEA?

I enjoyed this story of Breeze and Tack. Breeze is a scientist hiding and studying on Sajave. She's has made a major discovery and while rushing to share her discovery is caught in a sandstorm and her hovercraft ends up crashing. She's rescued by Tack, who's ill tempered, ill mannered and is a huge cyborg with C-Force. Breeze is someone that he can't wait to get rid of. Another great cyborg romance from Cara Bristol! Tack and Breeze's story is super original and a page-turner to be sure. It takes place on Sajave, a sand-covered planet that holds some unsettling mysteries. And Tack and Breeze are filled with secrets themselves. I was pulled into their story from page one. I can't wait to read more in this series.
