Though it is the 2nd full length work in the tempting monsters universe, readers should enter with the awareness that Hazel’s story is tonally much closer to Lola’s than Esther’s. We meet our heroine deep in the cloudiness of her life and career as an actress in the company of fiends, and all of the jaded coping mechanisms that come along with it. There is sunshine yet to be found at the other end of the grit, with a depth and mastery of dynamic that will make you feel every moment of angst, ecstasy, dream of far away normalcy, and - eventually - earned happiness. I dare say this is my friend’s most vine ripened work to date.

Things are getting darker and more intense plot wise, but I was absolutely living for it. A little murder mystery to go with my monster smut? YES, PLEASE. I adore Hazel, she has such fun, confident energy with the biggest heart. She’s a sex performer at The Company of Fiends, a monster theater, that you may recognize from a certain scene in book 1. She's very proud of who she is and what she does. She cares deeply about the monsters and patrons, the other working girls, and the quality of life at the theater. ❝ "You're a very rare woman, Hazel Nix," Hunter said, hands sliding under his shirt and up my back to draw me closer. "Someone so precious ought to be loved by many." ❞ Hazel’s guys are so sweet and devoted to her, they fully accept her as she is, there is no ugly jealousy or negativity towards her profession from them. Each relationship develops individually, some are more insta-love, some have been building for years, and they each get attention and time with Hazel outside the group. The little glimpses we get of the guys forming their own bonds/friendships is so precious. ❝ These weren't orgasms, they were deaths and rebirths, teased and tickled out of me, more the result of the crashing aches and sweeping soothes. ❞ Hazel gets quite the variety of monsters. just another FMC out here living my fucking dream Hunter a shy and self-conscious orc with an impressively pierced 🍆, Nireas the six armed giant pianist with a talented tongue, Ronan a mischievous and bratty as sin imp, Constantine the suck your soul from your body- pleasure/pain demon that splits into duo Con + Antin, and Jude a half fae detective with shadow wings. There is truly a kink for everyone in this book, I swear. The individual spice hits, but the group scenes? HOLY HELL. There was an MMMM performance scene that stole the air from my lungs. 🥵🥵🥵 And I can't even speak about the way Con + Antin singlehandedly redefined what it means to "Fuck Yourself" 👀 If this book was in multi-pov I might have actually died. I loved all the cameos from other characters that have shown up so far in the series and I am so excited to see what Kathryn Moon has in store for us next!!

This book is the second in the Tempting Monsters series and focuses around the theater that we all loved in A Lady of Rooksgrave Manor, particularly on Hazel Nix, one of the regular actors performing in the Company of Fiends. This book stands on its own with a new cast of characters and different focal setting, but Kathryn manages to maintain the mood in this second helping of monsters with the same Victorianesque era and an emotive lushness to her words that instantly draws you into the dark theater underbelly in a way that feels almost tangible. The monster suitors are scrumptious and even with the inclusion of types of fellas we’ve seen a lot lately, like orcs and demons, all of them still feel original. Because Kathryn is out here writing god tier yumminess, we get Nireas the gegenees, Constantine, a gemini demon that can physically split into two entities- Con the pain demon and Antin the pleasure demon, Ronan the fiery imp, Jude the part-fae, and finally (JUSTICE FOR HUNTER) Hunter the orc, who hides a lot of filth and metal in that buttoned-up persona. Our big bad, Birsha, is back and the events that unfold harken back to the London Ripper cases, and provide a creepy murder mystery backdrop for the spicy romance to play alongside. Oh, and speaking of that spicy romance? Good gourd almighty, everyone’s favorite Moon wife does NOT disappoint; she manages to write spice with the same lush attention to detail that she uses with world-building. In case you also finish this book with a new qinc unlocked and find yourself in the market for a harness, check out Kathryn’s reader group for handy links! This series is extremely seggs positive and highlights the importance of enthusiastic consent. Hazel holds no shame about her work in the theater or with the partners she’s had, but instead delights in it, and where some authors may have chosen to end Hazel’s theater work once her relationships were established, Kathryn chose to allow Hazel to continue her role in the theater which comes across as more authentic to the character. History shows I’m always filled to the brim with effusive praise for Kathryn Moon’s work, no matter what, but I assure you Company of Fiends is absolutely worth your time!

Oh. My. Monsters. I just have to say that I love Moon's monsters. Although they depart from the human form, very far in some cases, she does such a wonderful job of making them into these romantic figures. They want their unrequited love to be returned. They dive into the wonder of being seen for the first time and experiencing love. The Company of Fiends is a suiting follow up to A Lady of Rooksgrave Manor. Both the characters and plot hold up against our entry into the Tempting Monsters world, which is something I love. Hazel is likeable and genuinely sweet, and her men are equally alluring. Like its predecessor, Hazel's journey is a love story with a bit of mystery and mayhem built in. When I dig into these books, I come for the monsters and stay for the romance (and, obviously, the s3x), so the mystery elements are a bonus. Now, I'll be honest with you, the mayhem is interesting and definitely helps to keep the story moving, but it wasn't so much of a mystery to me. With the "big bad" from book one unresolved, I think it was a given that he would play into Hazel's story, but there are some other little pieces for readers to uncover as well. Those, for me, were not too much of a mystery, but that didn't impact my enjoyment of the story overall. Really, The Company of Fiends was total enjoyment from beginning to end, and now I'm just even more excited for book three.

𝙏𝙃𝙀𝙎𝙀 𝙈𝙀𝙉 🥵 We did not expect to ever be lusting after an orc but 𝚑𝚎𝚛𝚎 𝚠𝚎 𝚊𝚛𝚎. Hunter, in particular, won us over immediately. Hunter was as they called him in the end, "𝘿𝙖𝙙𝙙𝙮" 😅. Ronan was the much needed comic relief. Nireas was the gentle giant who always watched her from afar. Constantine (and Con & Antin) were the danger she didn't know she craved. And Jude was the home she didn't know she had. All of these men brought something different out in Hazel, and in turn they each gave her something she needed. That's one of the reasons we love Kathryn so much. She takes people/things/creatures and writes them so well that we can't help but to fall in love, regardless if it's in the realm of the "norm". Plus she can write a group scene like 𝗡𝗢𝗕𝗢𝗗𝗬 𝗘𝗟𝗦𝗘 🥵😅 We cannot WAIT for the third and final installment of the Tempting Monsters series! We 𝘮𝘢𝘺 already have ideas of who will be in it 👀 Also be sure to check out her website for character candles! We personally own some and 𝗛𝗢𝗧 𝗗𝗔𝗠𝗡 are they amazing! Kathryn never fails to astonish me, The very of shapes and powers Hazel’s monsters have kept me on edge with anticipation. It’s dark behind the curtain. This book was a fantastic follow-up to Rooksgrave, and if I may be so bold I believe it’s even better. Fans of Kathryn Moon know that while she often serves up sweet and sexy stories, she’s also not afraid to explore some dark territory, and that’s what we find in CoF. We are reunited with Hunter from Rooksgrave, and meet four (or should I say five) other incredible gentlemen all existing at the edges of Hazel’s world. There’s murder and mystery, combined with an intricate plot and super hot spice makes this one incredible journey. CoF is an absolutely wild and slightly darker dive into Moon’s Victorian age of monsters that focuses on more serious themes than Rooksgrave. Like Baby and Lola before them, Esther and Hazel are foils who reveal slightly opposing POVs in this richly written world. I cannot wait for the next installment in this series!

If you’ve come along for the ride, you may have read “A Lady of Rooksgrave Manor” before this, and even the novella from the anthology. Both were good reads. They were not as good as this. I will say that some of the difficulties from ALORM are resolved here. The men are much more distinct and well developed, though if you like to see character development there are some blurred lines when the harem comes together where a lot of previously strong and well voiced characters blob a bit. Understandable with so many men involved. Our heroine is no Mary Sue - plenty of men and monsters have withstood her charms and that realism is a relief from the insta-love trope. She definitely had plenty of backstory with her long time loves. If you loved ALORM or never read it, jump in. This book makes the whole series in my opinion.

Just like the first, this book is filled with steam and romance, and it's beautiful to read about these characters falling in love. I was enraptured from the very first page, and dutifully ignored every adult thing I had to do just to reach the last page. I'm obsessed with the first book and their characters, but this book might have just surpassed that. I'm in love, and I'd consider this the best book I've read this year thus far! One of the easiest 5 stars I've ever given a book!

Once again, Kathryn Moon has created pure, deliciously enticing magic! The Company of Fiends was absolutely brilliant! You need multiple water breaks to get through this book, because the amount of excellently written smut will have you sweating. While I was scared the second book wasn't going to live up to Lady of Rooksgrave Manor, it exceeded my expectations by faaaar. Perhaps it was even better - I loved Hazel and her struggles, and the darker tone balanced so well with the lighter, smuttier scenes. Kathryn Moon is by far one of my favorite authors and she didn't disappoint with this book either. When I read The Lady of Rooksgrave Manor in February and found out Company of Fiends was coming out, I added it to my calendar and waited impatiently until today. While I didn't read the book in one setting I did read it in one day. I love the storytelling and the writing of their work and I can't wait for the third book to come out! Monster lovers, gather round! We have orcs, and demons, and Greek giants with extra arms and eyes, and don’t forget the Imps and the Fae. A smexy smorgasbord of fantasy creatures, if you will. And Hazel, a halfling Nymph, is sure to sample and keep them for herself. She’s been with the theater for 8 years and has grown… complacent. Nothing is new or exciting, until she starts collecting boy monsters like her life depends on it. This was a perfect balance of plot and smut. 💜

This book was really good, all of the male characters are amazing and I found myself caring for them a lot. The fem lead in this book is also really nice, i dont know, I feel like I would want to be her friend as silly as that might sound. I feel that you would be able to tell her anything and she wouldn't judged you. This book was really good, all of the male characters are amazing and I found myself caring for them a lot. Kathryn Moon can do no wrong. somehow this was even better than Rooksgrave. i don’t know how but it was. i am absolutely in awe of this book and this author and her ability to craft RH. every character is so different and complex and is able to stand on their own. no one gets lost to the harem. amazing. incredible. outstanding.

I love Kathryn Moon. She has a way of writing the best kind of smut with a plot. Trust me it’s hard to find a story that is balanced with smutty goodness and still give you a story your addicted to. Monsters have never seemed so sexy until this book let me tell you. I can’t wait for more out of this universe.

Overall Rating: 5 ⭐️ Spicy Rating: 5 🌶 Kathryn's books are like a drug to me, I am simply addicted and need more. I have been desperately (and patiently) waiting for this book since I read ALORM. When I saw the page count on this bad boy, I thought Ms. Moon was trying to kill us, but no, she blessed us instead. Hazel's men are absolutely perfect and I very quickly fell in love with them. If you loved ALORM do not hesitate to pick this one up. Overall Rating: 5 ⭐️ Spicy Rating: 5 🌶 Kathryn's books are like a drug to me, I am simply addicted and need more.
