3.5 stars -- As with most of the RD books that start their lives as serials, I felt this was decidedly too long. That said, I really liked both Kaspar and Alice, and I loved seeing the tie in between the Bad Guy spin off come into play. I also feel like in terms of the macro Dixonverse, we're getting a lot more clues as to how all these different series ultimately tied in together 3.5 stars -- As with most of the RD books that start their lives as serials, I felt this was decidedly too long. But no, it sucks that they encounter Adiron's backstabbing ex for one, and if that wasn't enough, the escape pod crashes down on some abandoned, rainforest planet. Now with zero opportunities in sight of ever making their way out of the planet's atmosphere, they need to suck it up and bring out the best of their survival skills to evade giant human-eating bugs that live under the ground. Alice loves dishing out one sexual joke after the other and let me just say that I. Am. Here. For. It. "You," she hisses, "do not have tits!" I tap my pectorals, teasing her. "What're these bad boys?" "Two pancakes that don't flap in the breeze, idiot!" *thunderous applause Sorry Kaspar, Alice was the star of this book. Plot is not predictable, and that added another star to the review. Recommended, but read Adiron's book before starting on this!

Quick(ish) Review I love Ruby Dixon's Corsairs series and the way it fits in her overall Risdaverse. She's crafted a fun on the run romance featuring a grumpy heroine/sunshine hero and I was happy from beginning to end. The characters are fun, the world keeps expanding yet weaving in seamlessly with her previous books. It's proabably overwhelming to try and catch up with this series, but I think this book can work as a standalone while intriguing readers to check out the earlier books. I liked it better than Adiron, but even though there were exciting elements, I felt as if not a lot happened in this one (most of the intense stuff is all in the last quarter of the book). I have high hopes for Ruth and Straik and Mathiras and Helen though!

5 stars ⭐️. I read this as a serial on Ruby’s Facebook page and loved it. It was exactly what I expect from a Ruby Dixon book: hilarious, full of adventure, and smutty. Alice and Kaspar were another fun couple in the Rubyverse, and I think their story is my favorite. Trapped in a pod together, then stranded on a planet together? It made for a lot of cute, fun scenes. Alice was really clever and made a perfect corsair, and Kaspar’s admiration of her was adorable. I’m looking forward to Ruth and Str 5 stars ⭐️. It's adrenaline-junkie Kaspar's turn to find his forever-human and she's NOT THRILLED WITH ALL THIS ADVENTURE THEY'RE THRUST INTO. Seriously. After three years of uncertainty with the other captured humans aboard the Star, Alice wants a little less stress. This might shock no one, but: SHE DOES NOT GET LESS STRESS. While Alice might not get less stress, what she does get is a profound appreciation for Kaspar's can-do attitude. He treats every day like it's an adventure waiting to unfold and he's a genuine ray of sunshine while doing it. Which isn't it say he doesn't come to worry about ways to keep Alice safe. Yup, Kas has is bad for his grumpy human and the more time he spends with her, the more he's determined to keep her whole and hale. Even if that means stopping to think up a plan before diving into a fight. A little alone time on a lush planet, a few pitfalls and dangers, and a determined couple who share some seriously steamy kisses. Plus, we get a few familiar faces to spend time with! -Kelly @ Reading the Paranormal

Took awhile for me to get into it and I always struggle with how quickly our blue heroes decide they’ve found their mate—but it gained depth past the 30% mark. It also took me awhile to warm up to Alice and she wasn’t my favorite character, but doesn’t have any objectionable qualities either. They were a good fit and Kaspar became an absolutely devoted sweetheart!…I gotta stop reading these books, they’re giving me unrealistic expectations in my own relationship 😅

I love this book so far. But... "Sterre means star in Dutch".... No it decidedly does not!!! How the heck do you get something like that wrong? "Ster" is star in Dutch. ANYWAY. I finished it now, and what annoyed me a bit was them going back and forth about things that they considered to be MAIN facets of their personalities - the whole "I play it safe" or "I'm a daredevil"... Meh. But the rest was great, wonderful as usual. I love this book so far. But... "Sterre means star in Dutch".... No it decidedly does not!!! How the heck do you get something like that wrong? Alice and Kaspar Hard to get into this story. Alice & Kaspar are likeable but a little boring. Half way through the book, the story became more interesting. Suddenly, both characters did more than think about each other's bodies and sex. Would recommend this book to followers of this series and fans of Ruby Dixon. A first time reader would definitely want to start with another book. Alice and Kaspar Hard to get into this story. Alice & Kaspar are likeable but a little boring. Alien abduction While this could probably be read as a stand-alone, I highly recommend it be read in series order for maximum reader satisfaction and to prevent spoilers, as there are reoccurring characters and an overall theme, some of which is not recapped in great detail. This includes all of the situations that led the three mesakkah brothers from the Little Sister and humans from the Star spaceships to split up to begin with. Contains subject matter that may be a trigger or offensive to some including adult language, steamy intimate scenes and violence. Some of these include themes of, or references to, kidnapping / abduction, human trafficking, enslavement, food shortages / starvation, assault, rape, torture, fighting with some to the death, etc. While there are certainly what some would call dark themes, the story doesn’t talk about them in detail, so in that way it still seems positive, thrilling, adventurous, and scary. I rated the previous story lower because of an issue with the timeline. This one contains a similar issue, but because it is handled differently and the storyline, characters and universe were so strong, I didn’t feel the need to lower the rating. This one is also written with a sense of humor. That is another way the Ruby Dixon writes about darker (and somewhat taboo) things without them bringing the reader down. Maybe I am just getting soft in my old age … 😁 In this story Alice and Kaspar are traveling in a small escape pod that is taking them to a “safe location” whether that is another ship, city or planet. Unfortunately they are discovered by another pirate spaceship before they arrive anywhere. It doesn’t help that Kaspar recognizes the lady that captured turned them. It is his little brother’s, Adiron, first love that stabbed him repeatedly in the gut and left him for dead. Can they escape? Or can Kaspar overpower some of the guards so they can get away? What will happen if they the guards make it inside the escape pod or can verify that Alice is not really sick? If you like alien abduction stories with lots of action, steamy intimate scenes, possessive aliens with “unique” features , and plenty of heart, then I highly recommend this and any story by Ruby Dixon. She is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors, and it isn’t just because there are very few grammatical issues … contrary to popular belief! 😆

I love Ruby Dixon’s work. There’s always funny, witty banter between the MC’s, and an HEA. Buuut, I have noticed one thing that for whatever reason, bothers me about most of the FMC’s in pretty much most of these stories. They all lose their damn mind when the hero has to leave for a couple of days. I get being concerned something bad can happen. But they act like their man is going to be gone for weeks, months, years. Like… they legit mope around and cry and wallow in bed. Wtf Having experienced I love Ruby Dixon’s work. Wtf Having experienced my own man going off to war and being gone for 18 months… I can tell you, I did NOT do anything of the kind. Did I have an hour or so where I wanted to cry? Absolutely. But you’re looking at 2 very different scenarios here. You have to stand strong and not break down or you’ll fall into some deep ass depression that’s difficult to crawl out of. My man never saw tears from me when he left, nor any time we spoke or video chatted. So I am very confused how the fmc’s are so weak when the hero leaves for a short time (just a couple of days!) when for most of the rest of the book they’re fairly strong willed and self-reliant. Other than that, I did really enjoy the book. 😊

Of the three va Sithai brothers, I truly expected the least of Kaspar. He seemed to occupy a middle-ground between his two polar opposite brothers, with fun-loving, goofy Adiron on one end and Dad-of-the-Group Mathiras on the other. Rebellious adrenaline-junkies aren't my favorite archetype, so I was skeptical, but I also found a character dealing with a chronic health condition and anxiety related to his former disability, which added so much depth and relatability. He was a far more laid-back, sweet LI than I anticipated, too. Now, Alice DOES happen to be my type exactly, so of course I loved her. Something about tiny blonde disasters outsmarting their way through sticky situations just works for me. The one thing I disliked about this was that Alice ended up compromising her idea of safe (life on a stable planet, not a ship), for Kaspar, who supposedly was too addicted to excitement to tolerate Risda III. I wish Dixon had come up with a middle ground or had the hero realize, for once, that the heroine's version of home had unexpectedly become theirs, too. I just wasn't convinced by the end that Alice hadn't settled for a life that would make her unhappy. Otherwise I really enjoyed the pairing and this installment!

Kas and Sunshine are a really cute, snarky couple. Kaspar heads into any situation without thought or consequence and Alice (Sunshine) hates change. Could not put it down! A bit of a disclaimer...I love ALL of Ruby Dixon's books! The characters are great, there is always a great romance to adventure balance, and to say the love scenes are hot would be an understatement! As for this book in particular, I simply could not put it down. Kasper is a lovable goof and Alice is so relatable-shy but smart. The plot moves quickly enough to keep you on the edge of your seat, but still takes the time to develop a good relationship between the characters. Could not put it down! Seriously, what is it about the blue aliens that make me happy? Kaspar is awesome- sweet and a little crazy. Alice was tortured as a human slave but for the last 3 years, she and her friends were alone on a ship (It's a series- probably best read in order as the background is well developed in the first book but Ruby Dixon does a great job keeping people up to date.) Regardless, I loved the push and pull between the characters and, stranded on an island, there is a bit of action and danger. Ther Seriously, what is it about the blue aliens that make me happy? Corsairs: Kaspar I loved this one, i don't know if it was intentional but there were some parts that had me laughing out loud. I especially liked the bit "are you afraid your going to breath in his dead guy particles or something?" I stare at him in horror, "well, now i am." I loved the tie in with a previous book I've read, got to say it took me way longer to work out where they were than it should have! Overall an excellent addition to the brothers series and the ruby Dixon universe. Good writing but misses the romance mark As with Ruby's later books, this is a pretty hefty read which I enjoy. I was excited to get Kaspar and Alice's story, but I never really felt their connection. It's like they fell in love on the pods and we weren't there for it - felt very tell not show. So I ended up skimming about 50÷ of the book (which I never do) because I wanted to read the next one. I can't continue a series if I DNF, it's weird. Definitely some important plot points though so glad I Good writing but misses the romance mark As with Ruby's later books, this is a pretty hefty read which I enjoy. Sunshine and Grumpy I love this one like most Ruby Dixon books. The leads really grow and change together in such an organic and realistic way. It makes their love feel so much more real and satisfying at the end. And the adventure of the book is crazy! There is a lot of survival and alien planet dangers to be navigated. I really liked reading such a different plot. It was definitely not a repeat of a past book with new character names. I can't wait for the next one! Awesome space castaway type book. Loved it. Book two in the corsairs series. Kaspar is a nut. So funny and Alice needs him to balance out her panic attacks. They fit so well together. Lots of adventures with this one. Heartwarming moments as these two fall in love while surviving a crash and saving themselves. New characters are added to the family and a mystery still to be salved. So many funny moments. Ruby makes me lol.

I really liked this one. I dont know, the dynamic between the two was quirky and fun. I had forgotten about the pregnancy issue from book one, so I was confused for a bit just because it was said with such assurance. I think if I had rolled in from book one right into book 2 this would have been a non issue. Other than that, super funny with a lot of heart. Ruby Dixon does rom-com exceptionally well. Its sweet but with a lot of bite. Not a bunch of stupid cliche lines or moments.

Too long, too boring 2.5 stars. Hate to leave a bad review but in this case it’s warranted. The book was wayyyyyyy too long. The plot pacing was terrible. At least 100 pages should have been cut out, since a whole lot of nothing happened. The characters were basic and one-dimensional. I wasn’t invested in any of them. I found myself glad when it finally ended. The prior book (Adiron) had many of the same issues. So far, this series has been pretty disappointing.

Survival skills Who wouldn’t want to spend a week with Alice, Kaspar and his family? There are issues, as there is in any of Ruby Dixon’s books. She handles them with gentle understanding and some humour. There’s love and romance blue alien style and it’s fun to watch them survive in the jungle. And the ending is pure HEA. What more can you want? Heat! Yep you get that too.

4.5 Stars Yep just another really good one by Ruby Dixon. The survival stuff isn’t my fav setting but otherwise it was good fun as usual. One spinoff I’d really like to see is the clones and their love stories. Especially adorable Salvotor lol. Excited to read Bad Guy next! Crulden is def an interesting romance hero - his redemption arc is gonna be epic I’m guessing.
