Starfighter Command is book 2 in the Starfighter Training Academy and I am totally hooked! A video game is used as a training tool to find warriors for an interstellar war. It's like Star Wars but with hot sex. My nerdy heart has died and I am in heaven. So, Starfighter Command picks up where The First Starfighter left off, so you must read these in order. I loved that the author didn't rehash more than necessary and we dive right into the action. Mia is such an interesting character. Her coworkers don't trust her and she is a bit doubting of herself. Of course, Kass is perfect! Ok, well he isn't-I mean, he had to cheat and hack a few times, but he only does it for the good of his planet! Now, listen, the Velarians are never gonna win this war because they have a serious problem with traitors! Oh my gosh. Also, I can't imagine being in Mia's position of having to trust someone whom you only just discovered was real. Oh, and in the middle of a space war in another galaxy. Talk about stress! In light of all the Ice Planet Barbarian talk on TikTok, Starfighter Command is a delightful addition to your alien romance reads. If you want your aliens to be more humanoid, this series is perfect! I binged both books in 1 sitting and have no regrets.     POV: 1st   Tears: no   Trope: alien, good vs evil, fated mates   Triggers: none   Series/Standalone: series   Cliffhanger: (view spoiler)[no for Mia/Kass, but the war is still ongoing (hide spoiler)]   HEA: (view spoiler)[yes (hide spoiler)] Ice Planet Barbarians by Ruby Dixon, Claimed by Evangeline Anderson, Under Different Stars by Amy Bartol...then you will probably like Starfighter Command! I love how clever Mina is. She seems to take the smallest bit of information and turn it into something that makes sense and that works. She's really good at it. I love watching those leaps of intuition that she comes up with. Kass is a lot of fun. I might have a hard time with him if I had to spend a lot of time with him, just because that rebellious streak would probably drive me nuts occasionally, but overall, I really like him. If only life was a video game From coms to explosions, the author made this book a fast-paced, high intensity read that I didn’t want to put down! I love that these two are fighting on two fronts, and not until the very end was I sure that their was a HEA in their future. The characters were everything I hoped for after reading the first book, funny and intriguing and meant for each other. I can’t wait to see what book three will bring.

Amazing and out-of-this-world! Book 2 picks up right where Book 1 left off. Mia and Lily have continued to play the online game, Starfighter Training Academy, but it’s been two weeks since their friend, Jamie, finished her final level and vanished completely. Mia Becker is a computer analyst working in cyber-intelligence for the German federal police (Bundeskriminalamt (BKA)) by day, who continues hacking in her leisure time by playing the Starfighter Mission Command Specialist (MCS) in the game Amazing and out-of-this-world! Book 2 picks up right where Book 1 left off. Mia and Lily have continued to play the online game, Starfighter Training Academy, but it’s been two weeks since their friend, Jamie, finished her final level and vanished completely. Mia Becker is a computer analyst working in cyber-intelligence for the German federal police (Bundeskriminalamt (BKA)) by day, who continues hacking in her leisure time by playing the Starfighter Mission Command Specialist (MCS) in the game at night. Mia has been using her skills and connections to search for Jamie but has been unable to find her. Soon, she learns why, when she celebrates her own victory over completing the game and learns that her virtual training partner, Kassius Remeas of Velerion, is a real flesh and blood alien who has come to collect her and whisk her to the Vega star system. I’d looked everywhere… on Earth. I wasn’t losing my touch at hacking and tracking. The best intelligence gathering systems in Europe had not failed. I had been looking in the wrong place. On the wrong planet. Already obsessed with one another after months of flirting and lusting and emotional bonding during virtual training, Mia and Kass waste no time in getting physical from the moment he picks her up at her work place. They get physical A LOT. I mean, what’s a Mile High Club when you have the Two Star Systems Same Day Club? Trust me, these two! They can’t keep their hands off each other and they don’t care who knows it. As the newest and only Starfighter MCS bond pair, Mia and Kassius are vital to Velerion’s war effort against the evil Queen Raya. Their job is to hack into systems and gather information that entire battle plans will drawn upon. Their elevation to the elite ranks of Velerion’s fighting force is not universally welcomed, however. An unscrupulous former supervisor and Kassius’ own hacking history lead to some potentially deadly internal conflicts. Will Mia be able to survive them? Will Jamie be there to help her friend? I enjoyed every moment in reading this story. I felt Mia’s excitement as her calculating mind quickly grasped the reality of Kassius’ arrival. I was transfixed by their unrestrained passion for one another. (Did I mention there was a lot of that?) I bristled with indignation as Kass and Mia faced off with their nemesis. Grace Goodwin excels in transporting her reader into the sci-fi world of her imagination. This was another fabulous instalment in a gamer girl’s dream come true. I was a total space hussy. And that made me smile. This is a sincere review on an ARC version from the author via Booksprout. LIVE TOGETHER. FIGHT TOGETHER. DIE TOGETHER I loved the concept of this story, the characters, interaction, mystery, suspense, danger, angst, and then throw in a bonded mate and cue up the romance! What appears as an interactive Starfighter Training Academy game, played with other players and teams worldwide, might actually be much more in reality. Each player designs an alien to their specifications and let the games begin. The story will have Mia Becker, Berlin, Germany, right behind Jamie comp LIVE TOGETHER. The story will have Mia Becker, Berlin, Germany, right behind Jamie completing Starfighter Training Academy. Using her computer specialty, hacking into the web, it is as if Jamie has disappeared from Earth. No credit card activity, no work attendance, nothing—entirely off the grid. When Mia completes the game, she accepts the pair bond with Kassius Remeas, the avatar from the competition. “My avatar appeared, standing in a formal-looking room with high ceilings. Before mine and Kass’s avatars stood a stern-looking general. Kass held the Starfighter emblem in his palm and extended the offering toward me like it was an engagement ring. He asked if I—if my character in the game—would accept him and be his pair-bonded fighting partner for life.” Kassius Remeas wanted to be part of the Starfighter Training Academy and find a pair bond; when his commanding officer refused, he hacked the system and added himself. Now, his gaming partner, Mia Becker, has completed the game and accepted his offer. He is off to Earth to bring her back to Velerion. “Arrogant. Aggressive. Defiant. Disobedient. I was who I was. I would be a Starfighter MCS.” “You accepted your role as a Starfighter MCS. You accepted our pair bond. As I have. The bond has been recorded in the Hall of Records on Velerion. You are mine, and I am yours. I have been waiting for you.” The story has the good, the bad, and the evil of people. Mia uses her computer skills, and with Kass at her side, they conquered the game together—as a team. Kass may have entered himself into the system, but he was honest in his abilities, and Mia is his pair bond. Then, there is the evil of people or aliens, who are willing to sell out their own people for gain. But the fighting duo of Kass and Mia is more vital than a narcissistic commander. “She was magnificent. Perfect. Mine. Bloodthirsty, I could work with.” “Mia, you are mine, and I am yours. We work together, trained together, learned together. We fit one another in skills and temperament. We have common goals and shared work. Pair-bonded Velerion teams are stronger than those who struggle to work alone.” I love the chemistry between Mia and Kassius and how she quickly learns that they are compatible while working, during dangerous encounters, especially as passion engulfs them. The story has life and death danger, and while someone is out to destroy them, arresting him with false accusations, a mission must still proceed. How far will a man go to protect what is his? “Your pleasure is my pleasure, Mia. You are my life. My heart. You saved me.” While the story includes romance and sex scenes, I like that it is more a story of survival and the unique pair-bonding that makes this story a page-turner. There are several sex scenes, mild power exchange, but it all has sizzling hot chemistry between the couple. “We’d given everything to be together. We burned hot. We fought dirty. We claimed wild. We would never be tamed. Never be alone. Never walk away or betray one another. We were a pair bond. We were one.”

Yes, she is pretty much all in once he shows up at her office. They are dropped immediately into the war. It doesn't take long before Kass's past comes rearing up and they have to fight wars on multiple fronts. Let me get this out of the way, Kass cheated in order to be part of the training program. Honestly, it made me like him more than I would have otherwise. He doesn't have a ton of personality so the cheating gave him a bit of flair. Mia is more complex than Kass. Her background as an investigator makes her a great fit to solve the mystery in the story. On that note, this installment had a good bad guy (is that a strange sentence?). He is introduced very early in the story but the author slowly unrolls the reasons behind his actions. I feel like this story is less about the war against Queen Raya and more about the bad guy (I can't say more for fear of giving some of it away). I did question how willing Mia is to leave everything behind. She works in the intelligence agency so I would assume her coworkers are going to do a little more than question her disappearance. I also scratched my head when Kass flew a spaceship to Earth instead of using the transporter from the first installment. The final thing that bugged me was timing. Like, Kass was supposed to take a mandatory 12-hour break at the start of the story but I can't figure out how that ever happened. Or how long does it take to fly from the flagship to the moon base, etc. My brain kept trying to calculate but I just couldn't seem to make it work consistently (there is a scene where they have one hour in their ship and that gets spelled out so the other instances were very noticeable). This is a contemporary story set on Earth and in space. There are aliens but they look and act human. There is a war but it's more of a backdrop than the main story. I recommend this book if you are looking for a fast, easy-to-read book with a good love story. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Mia is in intelligence and a hacker and winning the game is going to be bittersweet as Kass is the only person she wants to interact with, and he isn't even real… or is he? When the newest bonded pair completes their training, Kass is on his way to claim Mia and boy does he claim her (wink wink). The Velerion's are back and they are trying to figure out where the evil Queen Raya is getting her information, and where did she get Interplanetary ballistic missiles? Queen Raya has the ability to reach any planet, Velerion or Earth with these missiles. She must be stopped! I simply adore Grace Goodwin and her writing. Strong heroines, strong heroes, great backstory, wonderful world building characters you bond with, and steam. The Starfighter series is proving to be an excellent edition to her catalog and I gobbled the book up in one night because I simply couldn't put it down! Mia and Kass's story is fantastic and the battle is heating up between the Velerion's and Queen Raya…what will happen when Jamie (book 1), Mia (book 2), and Lily (book 3???) team up with their bonded mates to take on Queen Raya? I CANNOT WAIT! I enjoyed this book and recommend this series to all those alien, sci-fi romance lovers! You won't be disappointed!

Grace’s books are all original and shows her creativity with the story she tells. I love the characters that are in her books and especially love how the stories all interconnect in a series. The Starfighter Training Academy is a fairly new series for Grace and I for one love this new series just as much as her Interstellar Bride Program and all of its related spin off series. If this is the first book 📖 you have read from Grace Goodwin I highly recommend you check out the first book in the series, The First Starfighter (Jamie and Alexius story) and then check out the Interstellar Bride Program. You won’t regret it. Just a word of caution with The Interstellar Bride Program is very hot 🔥🌡 and you definitely want to be interrupted and be prepared of wanting instant relief once you are done. Starfighter Command has a lot of heat but the Interstellar Bride Program is even hotter. As you can tell I love reading books written by Grace Goodwin and while her books can be read as a stand-alone you get more enjoyment from reading them in sequence. Back to The Starfighter Command, readers will enjoy reading all about the world 🗺 or should I say planet 🪐 that the story is based on with all of the wondrous people, customs, details, and including the main characters. The Starfighter Command is filled with surprises that come out of left field, twists, turns, ups, downs, emotions, things going sideways sideways, and lots and lots of heat 🌡🔥. Highly recommend The Starfighter Command and can’t wait for Elite Starfighter, Book 3 to be released. I am going to be waiting on pins and needles for it to be released. I have read all of Grace’s books already so more than likely I will read some of my favorites again. Actually, I will probably listen to them. As much as I love reading her books on audiobook they are even more enhanced and I love listening to them even more. I usually have all of the books and add the audiobook to my collection as they are released. 😊 Hope you enjoy reading The Starfighter Command as much as I do!! Have fun reading!!

His cipher implants allowed him to connect directly with the computer systems and he worked at it for hours until he finally logged in as Captain Sponder. Then he began entering his own data as a new recommended candidate for the Starfighter Training Academy. Mia Becker, Berlin, Germany, was in the game. She had such a crush on her gorgeous, in-game training partner, Kassius, that she didn’t bother dating since no one she met could match Kass. But now concentrating on the game, she was closer than before to winning. She just might do that this time. The only bad thing was that she didn’t want to say goodbye to Kass. Her friends Jamie and Lily knew exactly what she meant. They once talked about purposely losing so they could keep their alien partners. Kass piloted them close and Mia guided the hacked shuttle inside. As they raced away, the screen flashed with the explosion of Queen Raya’s warship, her entire fleet caught in the fiery explosion. Mia and Kass had beaten the game and won! But is it a game? What happens when her handsome alien shows up at her workplace in her real life demanding that she travels with him to the Vega system to fight Queen Raya and the Dark Fleet? She has not actually been “playing” a video game, but has been finishing up her training program to become a Starfighter, and it's her duty to see this through! Will she go with him? And will she find out that Kassius cheated the system, hacked into the game, and now intends to make her his own? Will she find out why Jamie disappeared after she had won? The story line is well-paced and, though familiar, builds that world around you that keeps you cheering the players on. The characters are developed well and have qualities that will connect strongly with readers. Grab your copy and see where Mia’s adventure leads her!

Starfighter Command: Game 2 follows Mia, who has finally finished the Starfighter Training Academy game, just like her friend Jamie. However Jaimie went dark after finishing the game and now Mia is in for a surprise. Kassius aka Kass is arrogant, a rule breaker but has his heart set on helping stop the Dark Fleet and Queen Raya at all costs. He works his tech magic to get into the Training Academy Program and meets his bond mate Mia. When she completes the Academy he brings her straight the Velerion and into the war to save their worlds. Together they fight against traitors, the Dark fleet and their hearts. Mia is such a rock chick, she is gung ho and ready to battle as soon as Kass brings her to Velerion. She actually takes the reality that this game is not a game but real with ease. She is a tech genius and her smarts is what makes her good at what she does. She and Kass have this intense bond and of course neither can resist each other. Kass will do anything to protect Mia and save his planet and her, but he has to deal with the politics and higher ups that are gunning for him. Overall this series is fully of action and suspense, just like the first, we are put straight into battle against the Dark Fleet and hope that our new couple can survive. The romance is off the charts sexy and Goodwin knows her romance, she make the pages sizzle with sexy. The past characters also have some moments which interconnect this series just like her others. I cant wait for the next book!

The world building of the moon base and Valerion was competent, though by no means a vibrant character in itself. The characterization was okay, with the hero and heroine being sympathetic individuals, if not especially nuanced. The development of the romantic relationship was okay. I did not really feel like these two had intense chemistry, even though the heat level in this novel was three chili peppers. They did not really have much internal OR external conflict keeping them apart. I also did not really get to see their relationship grow and change throughout the course of the book. The plot was really the strength of this novel. It was tight, action packed, and intricate. As a consequence, the pacing of the novel was really quick. There was a low amount of angst and high stakes throughout this novel, which tends to be one of my preferred narrative structures for a romance novel. This novel used the Intergalactic War trope and the Algorithm Matched Mate trope common in sci-fi romance. The world building was three stars. The plot and pacing were five stars. The characterization and development of the romantic relationship were both three stars. I therefore gave this novel a combined rating of four stars. This novel ended on a Happy Ever After ending instead of a cliffhanger ending, so that was a big plus. I recommend this novel to readers who enjoy military sci-fi elements to their romances. I look forward to reading the next book in this series when it releases. I will not buy myself a keeper copy of this novel. I received a free advance review copy of this book, and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Starfighter Command is a romp of a book, an adventure romance that moves from one bit of action to another. The focus of this book is on that action and the overarching story of a galaxy-spanning war; Starfighter Command moves forward the struggles of the Velerions against the evil Queen Raya with a couple of great set pieces. There are despicable villains, treachery, space battles, and more to keep readers engaged. The romance here is actually on the lighter side. Mia and Kass have been connecting for months playing the “video game” that’s actually a training and recruiting tool for the Velerions. So they’ve been falling in love well before Starfighter Command starts. This story affirms their love rather than establishes it. There are moments of doubt, some of which strained credulity for me, but Goodwin works hard to show why Mia has major trust issues and how that can end up working against her desires and goals. Mia and Kass have some truly hot interactions—they’ve been waiting to connect, albeit unconsciously on Mia’s part—for some time. So when they do get together, it’s explosive. But the action is the major driver of this story, rather than Mia and Kass’s connection. Their relationship is the icing on the cake, rather than the cake itself. If you love a rollicking adventure that might remind you of old sci-fi serials, then you’ll have a blast reading Starfighter Command.

Starfighter Command is the second book in the Starfighter Training Academy series. Mia has been training hard, playing her game, and when she finally finishes, she never expects Kassius to arrive on Earth to recruit her in person. But just as their connection starts to develop and her confidence soars, devastating news hits this pair bond. With everything stacked against them, will this mission destroy them before they even have a chance at love? This book was so good! With everything stacked against them, will this mission destroy them before they even have a chance at love? This book was so good! So interesting and exciting and I loved Kassius and Mia together. They had such a strong connection and I loved that Mia believed in Kass, even when things looked dim. They also had some amazing chemistry, both in and out of their room, and I really enjoyed how great of a team they made. Mia was brave, trusted her gut, cared about those on her team, and wasn’t afraid to stand up to those in the workforce with inflated egos on power trips! Kass was perfect for her, encouraging, protective, possessive, and I loved that he helped her trust again and become more confident. They made an amazing team, I loved how they had to use their skills to complete a mission, even when they were worried about how things might end. I am absolutely loving how this series is developing, loving how these characters go from playing a video game to being in real life, the world that Ms. Goodwin has created, and I loved how love will triumph over all!

Future Man but with less comedy and more dirty parts. Starfighter Training Academy is more than a game, but Mia Becker has no clue. However, the missions she's been completing and the game-generated partner she's been having hot dreams about are real. She's just beat the prime objective, accepted her pair-bond, and accepted her spot as Starfighter Mission Command Specialist under General Jennix. So imagine her surprise when her pair-bond Kassius Rameas shows up to claim her and bring her back to Future Man but with less comedy and more dirty parts. So imagine her surprise when her pair-bond Kassius Rameas shows up to claim her and bring her back to Battleship Resolution. I thoroughly enjoyed this short Sci-fi Romance. I had not read the first book, The First Starfighter, and I really wish I had because it would have filled out the back story. I recommend to readers that want the whole experience start there. BUT if you are looking for something to give you a little Sci-fi thrill, then Starfighter Command can be read alone and fully understood as a stand-alone. I will say that Kass is a little too flyboy for me at times with his arrogance and swagger, and that is why this book suffers a star. I wanted to like him more than I did. However, I loved Mia, and the plot is a solid one. Grace Goodwin is always an excellent bet for Sci-fi romance, and you can never go wrong with her books. This is a definite recommend. I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary advance copy of this book.

Mia is on the hunt for her missing gamer buddy. She's turned over every rock...on Earth. Pity, as Jamie is no longer Earthbound! Well, it is but he did it for a good reason and he's not sorry! When he and Mia finally make it through training though the real danger is just beginning. Mia and Kass a great match. She is all rational thought and computer skills and Kass is an ace pilot with a sideline in hacking! I pretty much loathed Spooner from the get-go. He is just such a blowhard. I loved unravelling the next layer of traitors. Mia is also really down to Earth and has esteem issues like everyone else - but Kass is going to blow all those issues into smithereens, no one doubts his Mia, ever. Hacking, false accusations, nepotism, sleaze in space, and red hot passion between the leads. Loved it!

Each book focuses on each human female and her counterpart Velerion (alien). I had been anxiously awaiting this book, as next in series, to continue the adventures started in the first book. This book picks up slightly retrospective in order to build the backstory on Kassius and status on what Mia had been up to after Jaime “disappeared” after completing the game. The challenges this couple faces are numerous, mostly due to an enemy of Kassius,’ along with the war between the Velerions and Queen Raya’s fleet. There are moments where they have to deal with issues of trust and insecurities, too. Fortunately this story has its HEA, no cheating, and rounds out to an appropriate completion of an active storyline, but open to next story start without cliffhangers. I highly recommend this series. It is the tale of what happens when she finally completes the highest level of the Starfighter Academy Video Game. Mia is fierce and bold. She is an Internet Technology Specialist who works for the Berlin Police Department to solve crimes. She never dreams her skill set will be crucial to her future happiness. Kassius, Mia's video game partner and secret crush, happens to be a real life being from the planet Valerio in the Vega Star System. He is not a fan of seeing people being mistreated and will pull no stops to right this unjustice treatment. He includes himself among these people. Which is how he ends up finally becoming a candidate for the Starfighter CMS Academy and a permanent part of Mia's life. Starfighter Command is action packed and quite steamy. The story is a glorious treat for the senses. I absolutely love the concept of this book series and the stories that are revealed! I am absolutely overcome with anticipation for the moment the last friend of the real-life game playing trio, Lily, beats the final level of Starfighter Academy. I am sure her story will be equally as exciting and well worth the wait.

OHMIGOODNESS, I've enjoyed this series. What better idea? You're playing your favorite video game, and you are owning it. You have built your in-game playing partner to be your perfect guy, and you fight all your missions side-by-side. Your relationship grows with this character as your challenges increase in difficulty. Ultimately you have to beat the game, but you really hate to leave this character you've been fighting with for such a long time. And not only are these aliens swoony and our h's dream-man, but they are already in love with these women. So they go to fight the enemies of the universe in this fast-paced fun novel. I recommend reading Game 1 (Jamie and Alex) before Game 2. But what I do love is how Game 2 picks up right where Game 1 left off. Mia and Kass's specialties are a bit different, but the excitement is still there, and the epic space battles--which Grace Goodwin writes exceptionally well--continue to keep you on the edge of your seat. I cannot wait for Game 3!!

Mia and Kass are insane together, in the best possible way. Getting to see what happened on earth after the first book in the series, and the lengths Mia was trying to go to was exactly how I had hoped it would start. Getting to find out more about these characters as the book progressed, unravelling more of who Mia and Kass were while watching everyone fight Queen Raya butt was awesome! The flight was not easy, and that made for very good reading. I intentionally paced myself only reading a few Mia and Kass are insane together, in the best possible way. I intentionally paced myself only reading a few chapters at a time (well, at least for the first half of the book my plan seemed to work!) so that I did not devour this book in one sitting because I wanted to savor it. It is going on my reread pile because I want to find all the little nuances you do not catch the first time around. I felt like it was just as good as the first one and while it starts with the same game winning steps, everything after that was a whole new experience. I cannot wait for the next book to see what new creativity the author has cooked up! I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
