Sweet and Swoon I loved this one! Both MCs are carrying wounds—physical, as well as emotional and mental—from their pasts. The hero is a war veteran and the heroine survived a terrible crash that killed her parents. Together they find in each other the pieces that heal their broken hearts. This story was short, but it packed a punch, making an emotional connection along with plenty of steam. Hero has been celibate for a while, no mention of his past. Heroine is a virgin. LOVED! This is such a great story. I loved the build… Les and Mazie getting to know each other, both with their own issues, reluctant to be close to anyone because of their scars, both seen and unseen. Les is amazing. Always worried, questioning himself so much. Mazie is sweet, strong, and had me fighting tears. This is a great quick read, an absolute must! A wonderfully written emotional story of Les and Mazie. Two people who have suffered heartache and feel damaged from what they’ve endured. Mazie and Les have a chemistry that they try to deny but after time both realize that when they’re together they find their home. I received an arc copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Nicole's Wet & Wild is a beautifully written love story that has two lost souls finding their soulmates. Broken after being injured and captured while in Afghanistan, ex-military man Les has just been drifting. When a truck driver shows him compassion by driving him south, he ends up in small town Spring, Florida. Mazie was orphaned and left with her own scars after an accident that took her parents, and spends most of her time a recluse, providing baked goods for one of the diners in town. While making a delivery, she notices Les, but not familiar with the kind of pull he seems to have, she flees. But later, she finds him wandering down the road out of town, and with a tropical storm on its way through, she invites him to stay in the camper of her father's she has restored. Les is as drawn to Mazie as she is to him - but he feels she doesn't deserve someone with his baggage, while she feels as if a man like him could never be interested in an inexperience, scarred woman like her. Together, these two broken souls find healing in one another. L. Nicole has written a beautiful love story with two wonderful, authentic characters, both of which grip you from the start and have you rooting for their HEA. I highly recommend this fantastic title! The trucker gives him a ride to Spring, Florida, at a diner he sees Mazie for the first time. Mazie is a survivor too, she surviveded a horrible car accident that left her orphaned and scared. She went into the foster care system until she aged out. She returned to take over her parents house and her dad’s beloved RV. She supports herself by baking goods the restaurants and diners sell in town. She sees Les and thinks he is the hottest guy she has ever seen, her feelings overwhelm her and she hides her scared face and leaves the diner quickly. She finds Les walking along side the road in the rain. Being brave she stops and persuades him to get in her car and stay at her house for the night. He reluctantly agrees and she takes him home. He is horrified at how trusting she is, he’s worried that a beautiful woman like her alone, someone could take advantage of her. But Mazie is a true survivor and doesn’t let the hard knocks of life stop her from living. Her spirit is beautiful, just like she is. Les stays in the RV, thinking to move on the next morning he is surprised that she has made breakfast for him. They talk and he agrees to stay a while and as repayment he will help fix up her house. It sat abandoned while she was in forster care. Both want more but are scared, Les because of his inner demons and his past, and Mazie because she is overweight and her scared face. But Les doesn’t see that, he sees her as a beautiful woman. That scares him and after kissing her he runs. A few days later they talk again and this time Mazie bares her heart to him, he thankfully doesn’t run, their first time together is so sweet. Epilogue with three kids and them very happy together.

So, she makes her way through life, baking and selling her goods to the local diner and eateries. When she decides to go out on a limb and offer her dad’s old VW bus to Les, she gets more than she could have ever bargained for. L. Nicole does a wonderful job showing the disconnection that our vets face when returning home. This story is both tragic and beautiful in its telling and you just root for both Les and Mazie from the very beginning because they are just amazing souls who are trying to get by in a world where they do not feel like they belong. They have a connection that is past their obvious physical/sexual chemistry. This is a well written book with a story-line that is emotional, has some drama, romance and a deep love. The characters are well developed with a lot of depth and you just fall in love with them along the way. This is another winning book by L. Nicole and a wonderful addition to this series about the man and women of Spring, Florida.

I liked this story. It was interesting and entertaining. The characters were enjoyable and likable. Both Les and Mazie struck me as introverts who were then scarred (emotionally and/or physically) by horrible and traumatic things that happened to them (described anecdotally but not with lots of detail). Les became a drifter because of his past in the military. Mazie seemed to be more like a hermit, but she did go into town pretty regularly. Wow!!! This book hit me right in the heart! Mazie and Les are two lost souls, just getting by in life. Their stories are so sad, that you can't help feel for them. I felt while reading this , especially Les' story is so heartbreaking, mainly because I've known vets who has experienced the same as him. Mazie is beautiful but so insecure with her looks due to her tragic story. But these two together are so incredibly beautiful ❤️. This was an emotionally charged romance, more than I expected, and I couldn't be more thrilled. Mazie has suffered so much with the evidence spelled out in the scar on her face. She is a lonely character but she yearns for a family. Les carries the scars of his time in the service in less visible places. They recognize the pain inside each other and that brings a level of trust into their relationship from the start. L. The author has given us characters that believe that they are too broken to deserve happiness. Les is just drifting around the country trying to find some place that will give him peace after what happened when he was in the military. Mazie tends to keep to herself but takes a chance on picking Les up from the side of the road. Will they be able to help each other heal or are they destined to remain alone in life? The beginning of the story was a bit dreary, it was not just raining but you can feel the sadness coming out from our protagonists. They are both suffering from survivor's guilt. It was really sad. But after all the rain, the sun's rays has penetrated the clouds and both our protagonists, Les and Maise, found love and a home in each other's arms. Quick & Sexy! I loved it!! This former soldier will keep you glued to your seat until you finish this angst filled book. I read this in one quick sitting. The author did a great job letting us peer into the past torment of both Mazie and Les while also keeping things moving forward in this short novella. Quick & Sexy! I loved it!!
