I haven't read anything by V.E. Schwab yet but I saw this and I'm intrigued--def will be getting part #1 when it comes out. I FINALLY GOT MY HANDS ON IT... AND IT WAS SOOO GOOD. TOO GOOD BUT TOO SHORT AS WELL. I won't complain though. Any and all Vicious content is better than everything else I like combined. <3 There's 4 more in the series!!! And as much as I'd like to have them with me RIGHT NOW, I'm willing to wait for V.E. Schwab. She can take as long as she wants, and I'll sit here patiently like the polite and obedient child my parents always wanted me to be, as long as I see a promise of more EO content 🙂 I FINALLY GOT MY HANDS ON IT... This was an amazing start to this series. I know this is only going to get better with the release of a new issue. This is almost like a tease. It was way too short and it leaves you wanting to read more. I can’t wait for the next installment!!

ExtraOrdinary was pretty...Ordinary Real rating: 2.5 The cover art was incredible and promising, and I'm excited for what we get to see with Charlotte! I think that's such an incredible play on EO abilities, and I'm eager to see how she handles "meeting" her death (whom those who've read the books, know and understand to be Eli). It's really the story content that provides a higher rating, even though there isn't much here. But it's setting the stage for the future issues, so that's neat! I just think the inside art style is..less than pleasant and doesn't entirely fit the atmosphere or severity of the book series. Which, I know transferring media is another thing entirely, and can't be exact obviously, but I think we all had something a little different in our minds when we expected the comics. Anyways, it's decent so far!

I knew this was short but… this was almost nonexistent. It was waaaay too short and I’m really looking forward to the next one. I don’t normally read comics or graphic novels so I can’t really judge any of that, but the art isn’t bad. I read it on my kindle which is in black and white so I sadly couldn’t see the coloring.

It's super hard to know how to reliably rate something like this, because it has everything you would ever want from a graphic novel and, moreover, it has everything fans of Schwab's Extraordinary world would want. In fact, the illustrations are perfection, the way in which it works on a kindle where you can zoom in on each illustration digitally is exceptional and the story is a perfect addition to the series. Schwab is releasing these graphic novels in instalments. So we never get a full story, we get essentially a chapter of one. This first chapter introduces us to a new character, an extraordinary character from her universe in which we witness her death and her revival which reveals her new ability - seeing how someone will die in their reflection. That's it. That's all you will get, but it is amazing to be back in this world and I genuinely can't think of a better universe to be able to expand and explore new characters with new abilities in. I'm just not sure the teaser of a single chapter is enough.

“I used to think a lot about death. I know most kids do. They lose a grandparent or a pet and start wondering. But once I started, I couldn’t stop." I've been so excited for this series, and this first issue didn't disappoint. ExtraOrdinary is set in the world of V.E. This comic is centered around Charlotte, who gains frightening superpowers after nearly dying in a bus crash: she can now see how people are going to die. It's such a creepy, uncomfortable power and works so well in comic format because in a comic you really get to see what Charlotte sees, and it's kinda disturbing. Not much happens in this first issue other than the introduction of Charlotte's abilities, but it was still a lot of fun. The art is also wonderful! I love the world of the Villains series and I can't wait to see how this story ties to the books: we already get a little hint at what's to come, which was super cool!

This is my favourite series from the author, so every crumb of it I can get makes me happy. This is the issue 0, but actually important things that set in motion the story happen. So, you have to read it. I like the character of Charlotte and I have the felling it'll be interesting read the next issues. I do not envy her EO's powers, though. I believe of all the powers we've seen this is the one I like the least (for what it does), however, it does also seem like the less-easy-to-discover-power. Can't wait for the next issues! Bonus art: I was not a fan of the drawings in the Shades of magic comics, I like these ones better (just not for Victor, though, I'll keep picturing him as I imagine him).

V.E. Schwab's debut comic was anything but extraordinary! It's amazing and even the artwork is lovely. I do recommend reading the Villain series she wrote in order to understand this comic better so you already know what you are getting into and it doesn't confuse you. If only the second (#1) was already published and selling so I could get my hands on it. 😤

I know this is issue #0 so it's just sort of a teaser for the series, but wow, that was short. Less than 20 pages, and the last handful are pages aren't even story content; they're comparing Schwab's initial script to the line art and then the finished colored panels - and don't get me wrong, that was an interesting comparison to see, and this was a great set-up to what promises to be an intriguing story, but honestly I would've rather just seen this tacked on to the first issue. It's the first time, since I was a child and the Beano and Dandy was all the rage, that I've read a comic. After reading Vicious and Vengeful and loving them I thought I would give this a whirl. It is set in the time between the two books and is centred round a girl called Charlie. I don't know what I think of this, the drawings where fab and the bit of the story you got was fab, but im not used to reading something so short! Maybe because this is my first time reading a graphic novel and I'm just used to Webtoons and don't know how these things work, but it was just too fast-paced. Like boom-boom-bam-and-done! But then again it does say it's number #0 so maybe it's supposed to be that way? Anyways, read it in 5 mins. Good, interested in what comes next, but overall, I'd rather go back to reading I Am The Grim Reaper on Webtoons. 5 stars! This was so good! Such an amazing start to this comic series, it will definitely leave you wanting more! The artwork is incredible and the dialogue/plot line is intriguing and captivating. We follow Charlotte just as she has a near death experience and suddenly realises something about her is different. Absolutely cannot wait to see where the rest of this comic series goes!
