Six stars Books 1 and 2 were easy 5 stars, but this one blew them out of the water. Superb development of many different characters. Love the way things are going with. .... The story was definitely unique, for me. At least in the fact that this was a detective novel about a missing child not a murder, although there are other tangents to follow. That ending, well just blows you away. I really hope there is a 4th book in a this series...soon.

Disappointing, What a stupid ending to a good book. The child died, but no explanation, no finale. No one charged. so silly.
Pauline Margaret Dean –
Suffer the Children Third book in the series and they keep on getting better.Great storyline and enjoying getting to know the characters. The plot was intricate and kept me guessing almost to the end ,already looking forward to the next in the series.
Valerie Galindo –
I’ve read all 3 books and enjoyed them, good story line and character development. The whole point was to find the missing child alive, then the abrupt ending which spoiled everything. I was prepared to give 5 stars, but gave it 3 only because most of the book was excellent, until the end.
Sam –
Brilliant book...until the final 2 pages. A very unsatisfying, frustratingly abrupt, incomplete end!

I want to read this book. It does not seem to be available in any format.

Another great read Sorry this is the last book in the series. This one was my favourite. The author can put so much into one book and never fails to surprise with the endings. The story's just seem to go along so smoothly which have you asking more questions about the mystery in the book. I cannot ever work out the cases this interesting detective tries to solve as they are so complex. Not one to give away spoilers suffice to say ending was expected in a way. When a small child goes missing from the home of a very dysfunctional single parent, the search is on. As Detective Winter Meadows gets involved, much more than he had hoped for is revealed, providing a twisty tale that's full of surprises - not all of them pleasant. The book is really well written and keeps the reader engaged. There's enough humour woven in to make a difficult subject a bit lighter too, and there's even a little romance in the air. Excellent Welsh detective series I have enjoyed all three books in this series and look forward to more. The detective is a likeable character and others in the story are being fleshed out so you enjoy reading how their lives are progressing. The mysteries are well planned and usually have a twist near the end that reveals the murderer.
Alissa –
This story was a total 5 star that made Alissa so very, very happy until literally the final few pages. I was very disappointed with a last minute event that was not only unnecessary but implausible. Ruined the final scene for me. But I will continue on because solid writing and great characters.
Janet Scott –
Interesting read This is a great police procedure book dealing with a missing child. Lots of twists and turns in the story. DI Winters is a dedicated detective who works tirelessly to find the answer. Definitely a book worth reading.
Lisabeth Eames Capozzi –
Wonderful story with a poignant plot. A complex investigative team and a twisting storyline. Realistic characters who struggle with flaws and mistakes as they try to navigate what life throws at them. Interesting glimpses into Welsh village life and a trip to the Isle of Man.
Susan Todd –

Books by Cheryl Rees-Price Absolutely fantastic author of these Welsh detective books would recommend to any readers of crime books. A must read of all 3 books
Nancy Brown –
What is the point? The incredibly abrupt ending is a bad call for the writer -and readers. There are also dangling threads of the plot scattered everywhere.
Yasmin –
Another brilliant book by Cheryl Rees Price.

Rees-Price does it again with another atmospheric mystery set in the heart of Wales. DI Winter Meadows looks into the disappearance of a toddler from her mother's home, but the investigation unearths a troublesome find that leads to a fatal consequences for a neighbour and unsettles the community at large. A gripping read that keeps you guessing. Rees-Price does it again with another atmospheric mystery set in the heart of Wales.
