As with the first three editions of this series, Scare Street has chosen a top notch group of horror authors to showcase their work. I am constantly impressed not only with the quality of these stories but also by the diversity of sources of scares they come up with. We get ghosts and goblins, to be sure, but we also get monsters that defy description and even some that are within ourselves - these are arguably the scariest of them all. I am constantly impressed not only with the quality of these stories but also by the diversity of sources of scares they come up with. We get ghosts and goblins, to be sure, but we also get monsters that defy description and even some that are within ourselves - these are arguably the scariest of them all. To choose a particular favorite from among these stories would be a herculean task. Of course, the always excellent Ron Ripley adds icing to this sweet cake with what is beginning to look like a serial novel - a developing plot and character set in the ever popular Anger, New Hampshire. As a wannabe writer, I am at the same time awed and intimidated by these works. My inner muse keeps telling me to just give it up because I'll never be as good as these Scare Street writers. I fear my muse is correct. As an avid reader, however, I hope these stories never dry up because I love them.
