Welcome Back, Recently I have read or picked up a lot of novels on audio book, which has been absolutely amazing however, I was really wanting to read a graphic novel. It was late and a graphic novel is sometimes my go to late at night, I feel like if it is just one issue, I can read the whole thing quick. So the other night, I went on Hoopla to use some of my borrows to read the next issue of Something is Killing the Children! I have been reading this series for a little while now (it is kind of Welcome Back, Recently I have read or picked up a lot of novels on audio book, which has been absolutely amazing however, I was really wanting to read a graphic novel. So the other night, I went on Hoopla to use some of my borrows to read the next issue of Something is Killing the Children! I have been reading this series for a little while now (it is kind of my new long form graphic novel series) so I thought it would be a great pick! So let’s dig into what happened in this issue! **If you would like to read about the other issues first I have reviews for those up as well! SPOILERS AHEAD Another member of the House Slaughter arrives and despite Erica having saved the child in the cave with the beast and slayed said beast this new arrival from House Slaughter is questioning Erica. While Erica is attempting to deal with the incoming questions from the member of House Slaughter detectives and members of the town are still working to deal with the child survivor. While this issue did not advance some of the bigger plots much, I do think it is slowly moving the story in some interesting directions. The new member of House Slaughter arriving and the questioning of Erica was interesting, and I am genuinely curious to see where this will move the plot in the future. Additionally, towards the end of the issue, there was mention of the girl that had been found, the one who was in the detective's care. They wanted to ensure no one else came and picked her up, I found this incredibly interesting. Overall, I think the next few issues will take us to some very interesting places with the overarching plotlines! Goodreads Rating: 3 Stars

3.5 stars. This one only moved the story forward just a tad. Not that big of a deal as it will flow just fine reading the trade I suppose. Some detectives are dealing with all the dead children and the parents. Erica also meets up with someone else from the house of slaughter. We learn why she couldn’t kill the baby monsters, you just phase thru them unless they are eating. Now to set up some bait, which Erica is reluctant to do. Plus another small interesting tid bit at the end of the book.

Oooooooh! What a great thing to find it was finally out on Hoopla (which I have free thanks to the BANQ, might want to check out Hoopla for comic and music!! «not sponsored» just want to share that great service!!). So I was delight to find it and even more to read it. Lot of fun but even better the balance between action and story evolution! Love it! Going straight into #8!

More of a breather and mood-setter. I love the dubious intentions on display here and how each character is being so carefully beautifully fleshed out.

This was a slower read after all the action, but I still like it very much. Great series.

It seems that Erica Slaughter’s journey is far from over in Something Is Killing the Children #7. She may have killed the monster catching and eating children—but she hasn’t put an end to events. That’s where Erica comes into play—she and the mysterious organization she works for. There are rules, methods, and fail-safes in place, many of which we have yet to see in practice. There are several loose threads left to be resolved in this series, from the two witnesses to her monster-hunting, to the other little monsters that keep insisting on going bump in the night. Here’s hoping that for the sake of this town, the resolution comes swiftly. Read the rest of my review over at Word of the Nerd

Definitely a breather issue, nothing really happens just a little conversation and set up for the next issue, the story only really continues on a little bit. I am intrigued by Aaron (plus I am digging his design)

De todas las grapas tal vez la que menos me ha gustado. Se hace muy cortito y apenas pasa gran cosa, es un número muy puente así que creo que es mejor leerlo una vez salga el 8. Aún así empezamos a conocer mejor que son las criaturas.
