Swift Eagle talked with his parents, and they too thought it best he left. Swift , Eagle was skilled and smart, he trapped and had saved his money. He decided Canada would be a good start for him. On his way he wanted to visit his old friends especially Luella, who he had save from drowning during one of the wagon train's river crossing, and helped him with Dawn after Kills Many threw her from a cliff and thought she was dead. I feel that this series is best read in order to get all the back stories and characters as the story develops. I have only read through book 5 but you will not want to miss this wonderful series following: Harrison, Declan, Heath and Zander. He is on his way to Canada and stops to say “bye” to his friends. But when he and Rhetta meet. Ohhh, that is where things start to get really good. I am not going to say much just because I feel you should read this story yourselves. But it is a great story about faith and family and acceptance. A must-read series. And because each main character is so different so are the books. Well done Kathleen Ball. Thank you for such a wonderful series.

This is the final book in the series and the wagon train reached Oregon and it is now 9 years later. This is Swift Eagle and Rhetta's story. Both have endured many trials and challenges in their lifetime and they have found happiness and understanding in each other. This is the perfect ending to the series but in order to fully appreciate the story you must read the previous books in order. One of the best wagon train series I've read. The final book in the series. This is dated 9 years after they settled in Oregon. Rhetta is now a woman, even though everyone treats her like a child. Their ranches are established and all the married couples have children. Swift Eagle returns to see how everyone is doing while he plans to head to Canada. A shooting, a kidnapping and romance are in the story. I was sorry to end this series!

Amazing This amazing end to a fantastic series was over too soon. Never before have I read a series that had such depth of character and a well crafted plot. These characters are well rounded, they have faults and emotions and true depth. I only wish there were more books to continue the story.

A time of celebration and with characters from those in previous books. In this Rhetta is now nineteen, told she is tainted for having been with the Indians till she was ten. How changes happen and love will it come . Given ARC for my voluntary review and my honest opinion

Loved all but this one I was very disappointed that kills many was portrayed as being alive in this one when he was killed in a previous book and I felt like someone else wrote this one than the others. I felt confused and disconnected from the characters.

Kathleen Ball has done it again by giving us another story that is heart warming, yet heart rendering, in this series. This is Rhetta and Swift Eagle's story and is Book #5 in the Romance on the Oregon Trail series. The character development is excellent, and you will recognize many of the characters from the earlier books in the series, as well as meet some new ones. I really enjoyed this book and highly recommend it...do yourself a favor and read this page turning, action packed book.
