    Interesante introducción a la historia de CALL (Computer Assisted Language Learning), a sus orígenes, las influencias de las que se nutre de otros campos como la psicología o la educación asistida; sí como las influencias que ejerce en otros campos de SLA (Second Language Acquisition), su terminología, sus diferentes enfoques, sus precursores, etc. Muy interesante todo lo relativo al comienzo de lo que hoy conocemos como WWW (World Wide Web) que surgió como proyecto secreto militar en USA; así c Interesante introducción a la historia de CALL (Computer Assisted Language Learning), a sus orígenes, las influencias de las que se nutre de otros campos como la psicología o la educación asistida; sí como las influencias que ejerce en otros campos de SLA (Second Language Acquisition), su terminología, sus diferentes enfoques, sus precursores, etc. Muy interesante todo lo relativo al comienzo de lo que hoy conocemos como WWW (World Wide Web) que surgió como proyecto secreto militar en USA; así como las primeras investigaciones realizadas en la prestigiosa MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology) en el campo de la introdución de las nuevas tecnologías en la educación y, más en concreto, en SLA. El libro del profesor Levy es puramente teórico, no arroja mucha luz ni proporciona grandes ideas para la creación de "CALL materials". Además, obviamente, todas las teorías y teconologías que se exploran en este libro han quedado de sobra anticuadas, pero suponen un buen "background" para todos aquellos interesados en los orígenes y la historia de CALL.
