“The Jewish Apostle Paul” sheds significant light on the life and teaching of one of the greatest and most misunderstood Jews that ever lived – the Apostle Paul. This book courageously, yet responsibly, deals with one important matter that has not been settled: What is the relationship of Christ-followers among the nations to the Torah of Israel? In order to provide solid “The Jewish Apostle Paul” sheds significant light on the life and teaching of one of the greatest and most misunderstood Jews that ever lived – the Apostle Paul. This book courageously, yet responsibly, deals with one important matter that has not been settled: What is the relationship of Christ-followers among the nations to the Torah of Israel? In order to provide solid answers to this question, we must first deal with other basic questions. For example, how can we explain a thoroughly pro-Jewish Paul as he appears in his letter to the Romans and in the book of Acts; while he seemingly displays anti-Jewish or anti-Torah attitudes in his letters to non-Jewish Christ-followers in the Roman provinces of Galatia and the city of Philippi. The standard questions that are being asked today, although frightening to many, are indeed relevant and demand responsible, theologically balanced and historically accurate treatment.

Shaliaj Shaul Very good work describing several aspects of a first century Pharisee who has been misinterpreted due to a lack of knowledge of the mindset in those times. One of them the influence of the Roman Empire over nations, mainly related to religion and the new insights which Yeshua the Messiah gave to the believers A must read book which sheds light over Shaul thinking on the new Messiah followers and how all of them could gather without losing final objective.... It's a Jewish perspective of Paul and Peter that has some good thoughts, but wrongly enjoins that Jewish believers must keep Torah, albeit not for salvation, but for their Jewishness. This includes dietary Torah. I have to disagree with that, and I believe it is not enjoined either salvifically or otherwise. Not light reading It was mostly confusing. I guess I didn't have a problem with Paul's theology to begin with, but by the time I was about finished with the book I thought maybe I should have! Enlightening Very thoughtful and informative. As I tell my children, perspective and perception guide our lives and how we live our lives. This book changed some of my perceptions and perspectives; while confirming others.

Fantastic This short book is fundamental to all people who are ant to study the apostolic writings! Dr. Eli shows clearly that a misunderstanding of Saul Paul has permeated the world and that this is pretty easily reversed with good scholarship I loved it!
