Alpha One Security: Harris, Thresh, Duke

Availability: Ready to download

Nicholas Harris is a professional badass. Ex-Army Ranger, former personal security for the one and only Valentine Roth, mercenary, assassin, pilot, and my lover. After Roth and Kyrie holed up in their island fortress estate in the Caribbean, Nick started a private security contracting company: Alpha One Security. He hired the best of the best, the scariest, nastiest, tough Nicholas Harris is a professional badass. Ex-Army Ranger, former personal security for the one and only Valentine Roth, mercenary, assassin, pilot, and my lover. After Roth and Kyrie holed up in their island fortress estate in the Caribbean, Nick started a private security contracting company: Alpha One Security. He hired the best of the best, the scariest, nastiest, toughest—and sexiest—security experts in the business. And oh yeah, there’s little ol’ me: Layla Campari, mercenary-in-training. *** Thresh. Just the name suggests power, dominance, danger...and the man himself? Oh man. I’ve never met anyone like him. Larger than life, exuding raw power. He’s a mountain of rugged, masculine sex appeal. But I have walls that no man, no matter how big he is, has ever been able to break through. Thresh doesn’t know how to take “no” for an answer, though. He’s determined to get past all my defenses and show me what I’ve been missing. Can Thresh singlehandedly take on armed and dangerous men out to kill us AND my freight train of emotional baggage? *** Under ordinary circumstances, waking up bound and gagged next to a hot guy wouldn't be the worst thing that's ever happened, but these aren't ordinary circumstances. There's guys with guns after us...LOTS of them--both the guns and the guys.  Fortunately, Duke Silver is a hard-core badass, because it's going to take every last shred of skill he has as a killer commando to keep us both alive, and even then, nothing's a sure thing.

4.1 Stars This series was recommended to me and I have to say that I can see the draw to these books. I can definitely see some strong resemblance to KA in how her men are written but there was a little more there too. I Loved the men. Layla, the main character in the first book was hard to handle some of the time. I did feel like I was coming into this story missing something though. It felt like Layla and Nicholas had already had a story told and this was more of a bonus novella. It felt like Layla and Nicholas had already had a story told and this was more of a bonus novella. I would have liked to have had their background story because when Layla was giving the sparknotes version of it it sounded really good! Thresh 2.5 stars This book had so much potential to be so much more. The obvious holes in the plot were frustrating. Considering that this book picks up right after Thresh is shot; flown to Florida, and is standing in the hospital with a shattered Ulna it didn't make sense how his boss and boss lady were married when they had just ended the previous story as being boyfriend girlfriend. Also, Considering how bad his injuries were, I cannot imagine that he would have just been standing around in the hospital. Last I checked they had a procedure for gunshot wounds. The timeline was also off in regards to the fact that I would think he would have needed more than a day re-coop time. Granted this is fiction, but some plausibility would have been nice. All of this saddens me as the characters seemed interesting even if they were rushed into an instant love and the fact that the author can write some steam. There was a pull to continue reading on because I wanted to find out what happens, especially knowing that Duke's story is happening at the same time as this story. It is only for that reason that I rounded this up to a 3. Duke 3.25 stars After the last book, this didn't have near the issues with the timeline. However, I still struggled with the plausibility of the story. It seemed over the top at times. I will give it to the author though, that she has created a story that has my interest piqued and me wanting to see it resolved. This book ends on a cliffhanger but somehow know that it will all come out fine in the end because they guys can all keep taking names when they fight, kill, or battle even with broken bones showing and bullet holes... This saddens me as I can see the potential of the story if it was to be fleshed out more. I read this as part of the Alpha One Security 1-3 boxset.

What a bundle. I loved Jasinda’s writing style in both her Badd Brothers series and her Bodd Construction books, so when I saw this Alpha 1 Security bundle I just knew I had to give it a whirl. Best book decision I’ve made in a while. This bundle has the first 3 books of the series and let me tell you that I devoured them in 2 days and then went on to purchase the remaining three that have been published to date. The storylines flowed to the point I just couldn’t find a place to stop reading, no What a bundle. The storylines flowed to the point I just couldn’t find a place to stop reading, nor did I want to. As for the characters, Mmmm just yum! These guys are alpha to the max, but in a good way. They are tough and bad as nails when the job requires it yet so loving and romantic when they find the right one. Even though they go through heck and bad to protect and win their hearts. I found this to be an amazing, suspenseful, action packed series with lots of thrills, chills and a splash or two of humor. 2 Thumbs Up and 5 Stars for this bundle containing, Harris, Thrash and Duke’s stories and now I’m on to Puck. I highly recommend grabbing this group up, you will not regret it.

Should have really been a 4 and a 1/2 but it was not an option. Only reason it was not a complete 5 was for the first book Harris. Had not read the previous book that introduced these characters so did not have a lot of back story to flesh out the characters more fully. Loved the brief introductions to the back story but still was left feeling I was missing?? something?? Loved getting to know Layla's character's spunky ways and expect, and look forward to seeing her character further develop as Should have really been a 4 and a 1/2 but it was not an option. Harris' story was just too abrupt (from my viewpoint). It was a quick story but it sets up the stories for Thresh and Duke beautifully. The story for Thresh and Duke were awesome. Dukes story was further developed and story line became quite complicated. Their relationships with the women in their lives made for exciting reads. Felt very invested in reading the development of the romantic relationship (physical relationship description was H-O-T) and over-reaching problem trying to be concured. Sad about being left hanging for the next book in the series. Gurrrrr!

A lot of action Harris: ☆☆☆☆ Hot and Rough. High octane sex scenes and hard core action during a mission make this skilfully written story almost too hot to handle... almost. Thresh: ☆☆☆☆☆ Book one, Harris, was great. Book two, Thresh, was fantastic! More suspenseful action making this unputdownable for me, leaving me on the edge of my seat. The romance between Thresh and Lola was intense and vivid and just plain HOT! Duke: ☆☆☆☆ Non stop action, be it on the run, escapes or between the sheets! This book is a bit on the gruesome side of warfare but not without relevance and necessity to carry the story along. Duke and Temple are explosive together ! This ends in a cliffhanger or it would be 5 stars for me.

Good set of books Thought the first book was just okay as layla annoyed me with her attitude. Loved books two and three but it ends in a cliffhanger. I hate that. If you don’t like to read stories with loads and I mean loads of sex then this isn’t a book for you. It’s a good story and hysterically funny aloha men, just don’t like the incomplete ending.

Triple trouble Triple trouble is definitely these three guys. They are all part of a team. Yes there are more guys in the group. They are all badass. As these three. So their stories should be just as good. Loved it from page one.

It’s like Rambo in a romance novel I’m a huge fan of Jasinda’s, and I really like his series. It’s a great combination of high action and romance.
