How much did I love this book? As much as Elizabeth Warren loves consumer protection. As hard as Elizabeth Warren kicked Mike Bloomberg' across the stage in the debates. The introduction, setting out what happened in the 2016 election, was cathartic and perfectly stated, so I knew I was going to love this book right from the start. The book does a beautiful job both in explaining Elizabeth's ("Betsy's'") upbringing and education, and also in detailing her many accomplishments and her transition from Republican to progressive Democrat. I had heard some of these stories before on the campaign trail, but the writing here is fresh, entertaining and humorous so that I felt I was reading them for the very first time. Also loved the accurate comparisons between Senator Warren's vision and FDR's New Deal, the accessible discussion of complex economic issues, and the coverage of her campaign for President. I loved this book so much that I'm going to read all the books in the series (Nancy Pelosi, AOC, and Maxine Waters all have books to come). This series will make a great addition to my bookshelf and I will enjoy reading them when I need a pick-me-up about the state of women and girls in this country. (So, yeah ... frequently.). As a final note, let me just thank our democracy for giving us Elizabeth Warren. As the book says, "She's the captain leading the army, and we're following."

They advocate for a change of the existing administrative model to be more inclusive and welcome for every gender and skin color. These Queens are concerned about racial justice, everyday problems of lower & middle-class Americans as well as undocumented ones, and climate change. The title starts with Elizabeth Warren's parents and grandparents who lived through the Great Depression in Oklahoma as low-class citizens and their struggles in everyday life. Subsequently, the book shows Elizabeth's early life and her strifes as a single mother. As a consequence of these experiences, she'd started to dig deep into personal bankruptcy cases, she's been meeting with people and collect their stories. As a result of her studies, she changed her conservative mindset to more socially-oriented and sacrifice her future work to benefit the people with financial struggles. Her superpowers? She has Hillary-like smartness, knows the market like Republicans, and cares about people like AOC. Her kryptonite? Yup, you've guessed it right - her gender. The biggest advantage of the series is language, pure gen Z / millennial slang and references made me smile. That whole attitude made the book more enjoyable and easier to digest. I enjoyed that piece and want to read more books of that series!! Thank you Netgalley and the publisher Plume for Young Readers for the ARC in exchange for an honest review. Opinions and feelings are my own.

This is part of the Queens of the Resistance four book series - Elizabeth Warren by Jones and Trotman. Oh my goodness the research that went to writing this was phenomenal. These should be required reading. She definitely is a phenomenal woman who fought for the right of women and a true leader among us. I love The Queens of the Resistance series. There is something about books like this that make learning about politics and history so accessible. I never once felt like I was reading a history textbook and that is so important to me. Nonfiction is great, but it can be tough to read, so I absolutely love what the authors did for this series. Elizabeth Warren is pretty cool. I had no background information on her, but reading about her childhood and adolescence made her story so relatable. Knowing the time in which she grew up, it’s truly amazing how forward-thinking she is and how dedicated she is to equality. I definitely recommend this book and this series to everyone. Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for access to this title.

I love this series they are doing and am hoping there is more to come. Warren is a bad ass and loves dogs 💖 if you are looking for a quick update on who she is, how she came to be and basically an overview of why's she a badass, this is where it's at! I wanted to let this biography sit with me for a couple days before I posted about it, because I wasn't sure how I felt. I love Elizabeth Warren and what she stands for, and this biography made me upset that I didn't have chance to vote for her after she dropped out before my state's primaries. I think, and hope, this biography will have that effect on everyone. The biggest thing that I loved about this was that it's perfect for most age groups. It's not too long or sophisticated for a middle schooler to pick up, and it's not too academic for an adult to pick up. It's the perfect medium. It does a great job tracing how she came to believe in what she does, and also does an even better job at explaining her politics. This is especially with the chapter about FDR's Depression Era politics and acronyms compared to Warren's politics today and the immense influence it had on her. However, I'm knocking it down to four stars instead of five because I felt like the colloquialisms in it took away from it too much. I understand the want to connect to your audience, I just felt that it may have been used a little bit too much and in odd places. However, I think it is a great read. Like I said before, it's the perfect middle ground for anyone to be able to read. I will definitely be recommending this to the people in my life who enjoys learning about politics.

She should've been the presidency nominee. She has a plan and the knowledge to execute the plan. Great read & it only makes you wish she was president. She should've been the presidency nominee. I loved my first book of the Queens of the Resistance series. I learned so much about Elizabeth Warren's life, policies, and driving forces. Brenda Jones and Krishan Trotman are fantastic writers, it feels like you're sitting down with a cup of coffee with them. The audiobook is well done and quick (under 4 hours!). The book is fast-paced, accessible, and down to earth. I mean, this book - just so great. I love Elizabeth Warren so much and knew a lot about her history and upbringing but this was able to go into detail while also being conversational and easy to digest. It was a quick read but an enjoyable one. It's definitely written for people who are already supporters of Warren but I still think there is lots to learn about this queen of resistance through this book even if readers hadn't already supported her. Such an admirable woman. I mean, this book - just so great. “Balancing your money is the key to having enough.” “The way I see it, no one in this country should work full-time and still live in poverty—period.”

I loved this book a lot, and thought it gave great historical context and background, and helped to explain why Elizabeth badass Warren is why she is. Her fight for everyday Americans and against Wall Street and corporations is inspiring. I’m so sad that she’s not going to be our next president — it’s 100% our loss. But I’m so stoked that she is continuing the fight in the Senate.

The author was able to capture the badassness of Elizabeth Warrren and the importance of women like her in politics. This book seems to be geared toward a younger reader, but I enjoyed it all the same. The other books in this series focus on other Queens of the Resistance. This is definitely a book that everyone should read to know what a powerful and influential force Elizabeth is.

Resistance? Oh, I get it. The Queen of the Resistance of the Government against the poor, the rich and anyone in between that does not belong to the political machine, and than some from the political machine as well.

Overall Opinion: I knew some things about Elizabeth Warren, but this book really filled in the gaps. You can tell she has a wide knowledge of how the markets work and how they can be improved. I appreciate her intelligence, and I'll never forget the "nevertheless, she persisted" message. Overall Opinion: I knew some things about Elizabeth Warren, but this book really filled in the gaps. Love the down to Earth accessibility of this book. And short and sweet. I will check out the rest of the books in the Queens of the Resistance series for sure. Great for teenagers!

Very interesting biography of Elizabeth Warren written in a colloquial and conversational tone. It makes it feel cozy and personal. ARC from publisher via NetGalley, but the opinions are my own.

Interesting look into her life, however there was no mention of her coveted ‘Native American’ heritage. I am a Republican but I do try to educate my self on all sides, plus girl power is always a good message.
