Just made one GIANT batch from one of these recipes We were feeding our dogs human grade dog food that was fresh since they’d been puppies. They were happy, heathy, energetic and slept well during the night. During shut down during COVID 19, the company was no longer opened and has still yet to do after 2years. They were happy, heathy, energetic and slept well during the night. During shut down during COVID 19, the company was no longer opened and has still yet to do after 2years. Our female, Maizie as well as her brother/littermate also came home with us- (after some serious pleading and another check written to breeder)we were proud owners of 2 AKC Golden Retriever’s. They were born July1, 2018. They were trained to be assistive therapy dogs as I am very ill &our loyal 15 yr old Golden had passed 9 months before we took the pups home in 2018. They’ve also been wonderful with children, other adults and make a lot of stops to friends who need some love. (We do this to help spread the love and laughter in community, they aren’t working or hired.) Once Maizie started having diarrhea and was doing so inside the house unable to make the door to get out and had also developed what were raised rash or eczema bumps&flaky skin and was red, itchy and extremely swollen, we were relieved when her vet got tests back and said it’s an allergic reaction but nothing besides her food had changed and she’s never had allergies before. It was obvious we needed to begin making healthy, safe and a variety of different foods, vitamins through the fruits and vegetables and get in some of their supplements in either by ordering some(but was cautious as nothing is ever as it’s marketed as) or making my own ensuring all nutrients and minerals they required would be inside their meal. So, when I found this book I wanted to cry. Finally!!!! Last week I’d made 3 different crock pot recipes and I tripled the recipe as it is safe to freeze whatever you’ve made for following week for up to 3 months. We gave the dogs their first Mom&Da home cooked food and they’ve been so happy, breath smells better, no more runny poo or diarrhea. I’m very optimistic and feel that this was the answer to the dogs good health and our concerns. I also made 2 recipes for the homemade treats and the dogs are absolutely thriving! Their eyes seem brighter, coats are shinier less dull or messy looking and they lick those bowls for long after they’ve finished their breakfast and dinner- they NEVER did that before!

A reasonable book on dog nutrition. I paid £17.95 and I think that was too much for what the book actually contained, for that price I had expected a fairly comprehensive book discussing different caloric needs to different breeds and stages of life, what nutrients were needed in those stages and how to get them as well as the mentioned "over 23 recipes." I'd say £9.99 would have been closer the mark for a 191 page paperback. The book is a really good starters guide if you're brand new, explainin A reasonable book on dog nutrition. I'd say £9.99 would have been closer the mark for a 191 page paperback. The book is a really good starters guide if you're brand new, explaining the concerns of commercial foods, both dry and wet. It then goes into "human" foods you can and cannot feed your dog. Not the most extensive list of foods, this section lasts 18 pages but was probably the part I found most useful, having picked up a some lessons on foods I was using that had less goodness in than I'd expected and a few I didn't know about. The recipes are okay. There is only five specialist recipes (diabetes, senior, puppy, poorly and skin allergies) the rest being tailored towards healthy adults, some also being treats. The book is very US-centric, all recipes are in cups and some ingredients are difficult/impossible to get outside of the US (I've never even heard of "diatomaceous earth" for example which is an ingredient in the Fresh Breath Cookies.) Overall a good book for beginners or first time dog owners. If you're a well-seasoned dog owner or confident in hunting online for information, I'd probably skip this one or borrow from the library for a quick skim.
