This box set contains 7 urban fantasy books (all first in the series) and is currently free on all retailers. Full list of stories included: Half Wolf - Aimee Easterling Unquiet Souls - Christine Pope Dark Hunt - Kim Richardson A Fistful of Evil - Rebecca Chastain The Wolf Within - M.J. I am excited to read several of the stories in this collection, but so far, the only one I have had a chance to read is Aimee Easterling's Half Wolf, so here is my review for that, and I will update when I have time to read more. I really enjoyed this fun, quick-paced read about an insecure half-wolf learning how to lead and protect her newly formed pack. I liked the characters and wanted to find out what would happen to them. I was quickly drawn into the story (great opening) and generally had no problem suspending disbelief. There was action, humor, mystery, drama, and romance. I know some reviewers have complained about the main character’s mistakes and poor communication among the pack, but I think that made sense in context. A large part of the story is the main character’s development, both getting in touch with her own wolf and learning how to lead a pack, and you don’t get that kind of growth without making some mistakes. Urban fantasy offers plenty of powerful heroines these days, but I actually prefer books that allow the main characters to grow more. That said, I am giving this a 4 rather than a 5 because I was occasionally a little frustrated waiting for the main character's understanding of the situation to catch up with my own. However, there were also a couple surprises that I didn’t see coming. This is the first novel in Ms. Easterling's Alpha Underground series, but it stands well on its own. The editing was fine. Readers should be aware that there is some violence and one sexually explicit scene. Personally, I wasn’t uncomfortable with any of the content. I’d recommend this to anyone who enjoys character-driven urban fantasy/paranormal romance.

Always love these collections with lot of interesting action-packed, intriguing and suspenseful stories. My review is for Half Wolf by Aimee Easterling but I’m halfway through Unquiet Souls by Christine Pope and enjoying it. Got a good and huge collection! Half Wolf by Aimee Easterling Fen was leading her new pack as an alpha, a weak and unskilled one but anyway an alpha. Her leadership was teetering, her chickened wolf was not helping, the Enforcer was stalking them and they got involved in a very dangerous situation. The kidnap and murder of Halfies made Fen and her small pack got involved in a very dangerous situation. Circumstances had added new mates to the pack, and all was not peach and cream. There was distrust, misunderstanding and even deceive and betrayal. But what seemed to be the obvious wasn’t and soon things got more complicated, the action fiercer and Fen had to make her mind and stand for what was her duty. Really enjoyed the story, the characters, the story line, the suspense, Fen inner bickering with her wolf and of course, her scenes with Hunter. Seems she was not without resources when it came to her attraction to Hunter, at all. Liked the author’s writing style and the attention to details that I appreciated. The characters were interesting, the narrations and descriptions detailed with Fen’s comments and even her cluelessness at was around her was amusing.

I actually own a few of these books in this set and am voluntarily reviewing the others in the set as I was given a complimentary copy of the entire boxed set Half Wolf by Aimee Easterling: Not realizing that this was a spinoff book from a different series from the author I am rather pleased to say that I wasn't completely lost with the storyline as I have been in other books. The author does a wonderful job of letting the reader know a little from the previous series, without spoilers that would ruin that series, so we are not completely lost. I can't wait to read all of the books now Unquiet Souls by Christine Pope: Loved the storyline for this book, the world building and characters fit it perfectly and I will be reading more of the series Dark Hunt by Kim Richardson: Very unique start to a great series, I can not wait to read more ! A Fistful of Evil by Rebecca Chastain: OmG this book ! I fell into this book and fell in love with Madison . I like how she refused to back down even though she had no clue of what was going on. I signed up for the authors news letter because I really want to keep up with her work The Wolf Within by M.J. Scott: While the main character made me grind my teeth I did enjoy the action packed fast reading pace that flowed perfectly.

The way they have the scenes playing out so realistically you get so caught up in it, that you feel your along for the ride. You're torn between two different beliefs as the main characters try to come to terms with everything all at once and the powers they have to deal with. On a path of danger and suspense, I'm not sure they're ready for bring this bad boy roaring to life flawlessly. This is definitely one collection you won't want to part with. Remarkable job guys, thanks for sharing this bad boy with us.

When I saw Magic After Dark I just had to grab it. I mean, after all, 6 of the 7 books here were by authors in my group of “gotta-read, faves”. It gives thumbnail descriptions for each of the stories. If they’re at all appealing then you’ll love this collection. But for the fact that I’m literally dictating this review to my husband from my hospital bed I could go on and on with praises. This collection definitely deserves it. Since I can’t do that I will simply note that the collection is most definitely one to read, and it is easy to highly recommend.

Overall quite good. Some of the books were better edited than others. Some kept my interest better than others. Having the same side kick types and names reoccurring in different stories was distracting.
