Not for the faint of heart. Recurring themes but altogether a really good collection of gothic poetry. Not what we get to see nowadays. I loved it. This book was okay. Some poems were really great but most of them failed to connect with me. After a while there were just words swimming in front of me. I feel that the poet used too many big and complex words which through me off a bit cause you can't really go check out meanings while reading the poem, simply breaks your flow. But if you love dark poetry then give it a try! This book was okay. Some poems were really great but most of them failed to connect with me. A collection of 45 poems, with interesting and captivating title of each poem was an exemplary work. Certain poems laid an impact of ever lasting impressions. Usage of hard words could have been avoided, so that it would be easy for the readers to apprehend it. We could sense the essence of Gothic flavour maintained throughout the book which is an added advantage and makes this book more unique. The author has penned downed the soundless screaming that each heart is bounded with. I admire the author’s effort and appreciate for picking a unique genre and confined into a beautiful poem. I liked” I died twice”, “The book of Shadows” and “Blood of my Valentine” the most. I would like to recommend this book to all readers who like to explore new genre written with gothic effect and maintained its quality throughout the book. My rating is 4/5 for this Gothic poem.

Book Review: Blood and Beloved: A collection of dark poetry from Hell by Krimson Ravyn. Blood and Beloved is a collection of Gothic poetry, arguably the first of its kind in India as proclaimed by the author them self. Blood and Beloved is a collection of Gothic poetry, arguably the first of its kind in India as proclaimed by the author them self. It is refreshing to see a young, aspiring author take on an offbeat route and write about such bold topics. It takes you through multiple journeys of heartbreak, with the concepts of abandonment, child-rape, abuse, depression, loneliness, passion, and even death, all in the form of gripping poetry. Generally speaking, I am not an avid poetry reader. I've rarely been able to get through a whole book without taking multiple breaks in-between. But once I started reading Blood and Beloved, I really couldn't put it down. One of the poems that stood out and really connected with me was "In the Labyrinth of the Lost Self." The author really did a tremendous job at portraying what it feels like to be stuck in ones own body. Which is a very common notion that follows in every poem. Every poem narrates a story of being stuck somewhere; in your own mind, memories, regrets, denial, fantasy, illusions, or even in physical bounds, everyone seems to be stuck somewhere. Anyone who's ever felt that way in their lives will surely find something to relate to in this collection of poems. "The Book of Shadows" was another hard-hitting poem which made me feel the pain behind it. Other poems that really stood out to me include Is it me?, Blood of My Valentine, In Search of Knowledge, Of Poems and Prayers, Widow of the Undead, The Last Judgement, My Deal with The Devil and The Worship. Pros: - This book is bound to leave an impact on everyone that reads it. At least a few of the 45 poems will connect to everyone who reads the book. - The titles in itself arouse curiosity, and make you want to read the poem. - Most of the poems are very easy to understand, and effortlessly keep you hooked. - Each poem paints a different picture, and really makes you feel the pain of the subject, even if you can't relate to it personally. - It's not a very long read, will just take a maximum of two hours to go through it. So even if you aren't into dark and Gothic stuff, it's still worth giving a shot. Cons: - Some poems use language that is a bit difficult to understand. A few difficult words and figures of speech might break the flow, which isn't a good thing while reading poetry. - For a lot of people, topics like rape and mental illness are still taboos. The way they are spoken about in this book might not sit well with some people. - The genre in itself isn't a popular one. So it would be difficult for the book to be liked by the masses. All in all, Blood and Beloved deserves a shot at being read. Especially if you are into dark and Gothic stuff, this one is a must read. It's definitely a treat for the genre fans. And hats of to Krimson Ravyn for taking such a bold approach. Genres like these are pretty difficult to produce, and she did a great job at it.

Each poem has a dark lining with immense intense emotion. ❤️ “Bella, will you marry me?” I thought the words would be, But when you opened the box, I heard no word, and nothing I could see. The chaos surged out of the tiny thing and claimed me For every little red box isn’t the home for a wedding ring Some are cursed and your’s was Pandora’s box, Which engulfed my dreams, my hope along with me. ❤️ Some of the poems which stand out among the others are Pandora’s Box, In the labyrinth of lost self, The masquerade of the mannequin and Of sand and stars. The book needs a re editing as the alignment of the poems since this is in kindle version is not proper. ❤️ I am a sob Trapped inside the cage made of bones That houses but one bird with broken wings. ❤️ The blurb is really exciting and attractive. In a word it is modern poetry with very high usage of figures of speech. The narrative is beautiful. Each poem depicting the pain which follows through the flow of the story underneath the poem. ❤️ Carols are louder now, no more the previous, far away noises; as if the cathedral itself found my absence abysmal. ❤️ The only short coming of the book is that it is clearly not for beginners. Due to it’s high usage of figures of speech which were sometimes repetitive it might not be a very good choice for people who are not into reading. Writing poetry is extremely difficult and so is reviewing it therefore I would surely suggest everyone this an hour read to give this book a genuine try as the themes and emotions are new and unique. ❤️ My lover pulled a sword across my heart I bled poetry. My death pulled a knife across his heart and he bled pretense. That’s how I died twice. ❤️ Book link Blood and Beloved: A collection of dark poetry from Hell https://www.amazon.in/dp/B07NJSXKZ1/r...

Indeed after a long time, I got to read something which will remain with me for long. A fresh read from Indian literary spectrum. We do not get to read Gothic horror poetry much from Indian authors. From a reader's standpoint good to see the paradigm shift in traditional Indian English literature by the young generation. The impact of some of the poems are going to be truly long lasting. Though I am not a regular poetry reader, but the title and genre caught my eyes at once and I started reading through the lines flapped inside the cover. I will like to specially applaud the young poet Krimson Ravyn for penning such an impacting read. Every word has been well penned and effectively molded to create an instant imprint in reader's mind. In fact majority of the poem titles are also captivating. I, personally being a relationship empowered person, have cherished reading almost all the poems published in the book just over a night. Some of my personal favourites are: I died twice, The song of cemetery, The black sun, My deal with the devil and The Raven like raven. What an end !! Kashish Kaur, the real name behind Krimson Ravyn, will definitely make a stronger comeback with her next book. Our best wishes to her. Only thing which I did not find very convincing is the use of a Gothic pen name. She may rethink using her real name in the next attempts, even for similar genre. Overall Literoma rates the book as 5*/5* (especially for the concept) and recommend it for a dark reading. My Opinion: When I read the blurb I was too much excited to read this book because it is India's first gothic book of dark poems. It consists of 45 different poems with different flavors, the flavours are so exotic & seek your attention as soon as you read their titles. The book is in the form of modern poetry with use of some poetic devices at points. Each poem has a title which completely resembles with the respective content of the poem. The author depicts various topics dealing with life & beyond life to explain her point. The poems are from hell, actually means that they are so so painful. Most of the poems are in the form stories- like poems are enough to narrate the entire story behind the content. There are many poems which are my favourite, although I think many poems consists of similar topics. The cover is really gothic & eye catchy, well, it could have been more though. . Pros: The book had a very strong content, as a avid reader I felt that the content was directly flowing like the blood through my arteries deep within. The gothic flavor is really heart wrenching & loved reading the book. Some poems had a real deep impact on my mind. Language was really strong & easy with some sprinkler difficult words. There are some poems which really left me feeling shocked and thrilled with fear. May be because of the emotions it evokes in your heart, I could not read more than 3 to 4 poems in a go. Here are titles of some of the poems I like: 1. The Last Judgement 2. The worship – among the horror and darkness, I felt it showed a light and asks the reader to be the best version of yourself. 3. In The Labyrinth of The Lost Self – This was again a poem which led to finding oneself 4. The Doom of Eliana – This was scary 5. The Legend Of The Black Tower – I kept on saying “Poor child” 6. I Died Twice – This was probably the smallest but one of the best ones 7. The Lullaby Of The Doll – The best one! Meant to be read two ways – top to bottom and bottom to top. It sent chills down my spine as I read it bottom to top! There were more notes which I took off the post as I hate spoilers. The writing style is very gothic and extremely dark which suits the theme of the book. At the same time, I think it could have bene a little simple. I kept on opening my dictionary very often which caused a distraction. Apart from the difficult vocabulary and some repeated phrases/messages in a few of poems, I think the horror or gothic lovers should like this book.

The morbidity, dark themes, near hardcore stuff showcased so well as to not send you flying away cringing in nastiness or disgust; lovely~ I was low-key afraid that the author might go overkill, especially after reading the first poem but it wasn’t phewww The first one was kind of intimidating, what with it’s complicated word usage, and I had to re-read it a couple of times but turning over to the next works either I got used to it or it got a bit simpler lol High-key impressed by her skills though; just imagining the time and effort that must’ve gone into it especially for a person like me whos greatest alliteration to date has been DaeguDump, woahhTuT All in all, really impressed, especially with her ability to venture into a new field in Indian Literature and doing so well in it. Definitely, recommend!

With great depth and meaning, the poems are truly one of a kind, and never have I read any such poems in the Indian context before. I personally think that the author has done a great job with the poems. With a total of 45 poems in 88 page, the poems have a rhythm and song-like quality that I enjoyed. My very personal favourite was THE CURSE OF PERSEPHONE which I enjoyed reading multiple times, so far. There are also others in this collection that I enjoyed. I think that this is one collection that requires a reader’s patience to continue with. And while I love it, I do also feel that this is a polarizing book – while I may love it, someone may hate it too. But that cannot be much deliberated upon. I enjoyed the book in its entirety and I hope I can read more of the poet’s work in the future. I quite enjoyed this collection. I rate it a 4/5 stars and would definitely recommend it.

There is nothing more I'll say for this poems other than they are " Hauntingly Beautiful❤" People who adore poetry and who see them as art should never miss out on this one because they truly are a work of art.

Written beautifully in a ironic way and the pain which had been shown is some what taken from the original incident. Writing style is impressive and it was my first poetry book in English and the author succeeded to impress his reader. Recommended for English poetry lover and socialist people.

This book definitely has a beautiful element to it even after being dark. The poems are bold and scream of one's mind and the things that goes through one's mind. There were so many poems I re-read so that I could feel each and every poems depth. Every poem has a detailed scenery and imagery in every line which makes you ever more emotional and tensed. Gripping you from the gut in every second line and then leaving you to breathe in the end. The cover is just absolutely magnificent. The flowers and the skull trying to depict what's going inside the head. The poems are mostly based on romance, dark, horror and topics that will make you wither. So many poems are goosebumps worthy. The vocabulary is intense which i really liked and it added more to the poems. It is such a good book. I thoroughly enjoyed reading it.

Not all of them, but after a while I did get bored of the last poems. Nevertheless, I really enjoyed this collection as a whole. It was very different and very fresh.

The collection of poems contain a variety of topics and it's certainly a genre very new. The poetess has done an amazing job. The rhyming pattern of the poems is very alluring. There are also quite a few alliterations in the poetry which made me like the poetry even more. The words used may make it slightly difficult for a beginner to understand but they add to the poetry. Also, the cover of the book is pretty decent. I could relate to a certain pieces which made me like the poetry even more. It certainly served to be a new genre for me and I won't mind reading more of the same. Thanks to the author for sending me the review copy in exchange of an honest review.

The author has tried hands in something that's purely a risky project. And I loved it. The gothic theme is mainly in the book expressed so amazingly and darkly that it gives you sensations at certain points. "Died twice" is my favourite poem, even though I loved many more also. The poems are dark, deep and scary a bit in nature but it talks boldly about everything and it's amazing to read such literature. I seriously enjoyed reading this like anything.
