Okay but could be better... Due to her own experience, the author has written this book to guide those who need/want to be dairy free but still continue the keto lifestyle. Jessica, author, explains "You won't learn how to eat ketogenically if you don't know the macro ratios your body needs to get and stay in ketosis". The macronutrients are provided for each recipe so you don't have to guess with what you cook from this book. She also explains the difference between Keto and Paleo. Lots of helpf Okay but could be better... Lots of helpful tips at the beginning including "Foods to enjoy vs. avoid". Recipe sections: Staples, Sauces and Dressings * Breakfast and Brunch * Soups and Salads * Vegetarian and Vegan Mains * Seafood * Poultry * Beef * Pork * Desserts Are you feeling adventurous and not wanting to give up your oatmeal? Maybe be brave and try the Cauliflower Oatmeal with Blueberries? SO what's not to like about this book? >>Sadly the author lists erythritol, monk fruit and stevia as ARTIFICIAL sweeteners! This could be very confusing to some as these three are NOT artificial and should not be put in the same "box" as the truly artificial (nasty) sweeteners such as aspartame and splenda, just to name a couple. >>Some of the portion sizes seems a little on the small size. 10 eggs between 8 people? Admittedly there are a few other ingredients in this recipe but not enough to fill the gap. Our kids eat 3 eggs each! Vegetable Bake with Cayenne Pepper for 12? I don't think so! >>A few of these recipes call for pepperoni, salami etc. Whilst the author does recommend the brands she prefers, nothing is ever mentioned regarding nitrates in the cheaper, more common brands. If you are looking to fuel your health, as this book's subtitle suggests, you do not want to be putting any junk into it. Eating nitrate loaded food has been proven to not be good for you. As for dairy free whipped topping, go read the ingredients of the most common ones in your local supermarket! SO that is said to encourage everyone to read labels, do your research and find the brands that do not put nasties in. Better still, make your own. Sadly this book does NOT have recipes for ketchup, dairy free topping etc. which is a great shame. For those of you not aware of the Dirty Dozen and Clean Fifteen are you will find these two lists at the end of the book. (Advice on which fruits and vegetables have the most/least pesticides.) This is followed by measurement conversion charts, a recipe index and then an ingredient index. What this is, is a list to make looking up a specific ingredient contained in a recipe much easier. Say you are looking to cook with eggs. Just head to 'E' and then 'Eggs' and you will find all the recipes containing eggs in one helpful list. I was provided a copy of this book by the publisher. That has not influenced my review with the thoughts and opinions above being my own. Thanks, Liz

I've been eating keto for over a year, and like to keep things simple, for the most part. This cookbook is full of simple, easy, tasty recipes.....I am so happy to have received this review copy from the publisher, because it will keep me from getting too bored with my "same old" meals. I dont' even HAVE to eat dairy free, and am totally satisfied with everything I've tried so far! I've been eating keto for over a year, and like to keep things simple, for the most part.
