I read this series up through book six because I bought them a few years back based on the artwork, and since I already owned them, I figured I should read them. The artwork is clean and detailed, not overly fussy. However the story itself is run of the mill, with hefty amounts of the usual tropes found in the genre, including the excessively neurotic young girl who constantly flashes skin and then slaps a guy when he notices, the highly competent overly well-endowed operative who can withstand I read this series up through book six because I bought them a few years back based on the artwork, and since I already owned them, I figured I should read them. The artwork is clean and detailed, not overly fussy. However the story itself is run of the mill, with hefty amounts of the usual tropes found in the genre, including the excessively neurotic young girl who constantly flashes skin and then slaps a guy when he notices, the highly competent overly well-endowed operative who can withstand massive amounts of punishment, and take out large numbers of gun wielding thugs using a sword, and plenty of young men who look feminine. The series pretends to be science fiction, but really it is fantasy placed in a science fiction wrapper, using the standard ESP, telekinesis, etc. mental powers, feebly justified with the concept of some mysterious alien artifacts. The violent sections are pretty well done, with nicely gory artwork, but it's just not enough to bring the story line up to the level of being interesting.
