As a member of a Bible believing church, I was very excited about receiving Max Anders's 30 Days to Understanding the Bible. To be perfectly honest, I was a bit weary about a book with this title, but was excited to see what Max had to say and how he was going to help me understand this book that means so much to me. Let me start by saying I was pleasantly surprised. I still say that to truly understand the Bible and what it says would surely take far more than 30 days, however, the groundwork that Max provides was wonderful. He clearly broke down sections of the Bible into the Old Testament, New Testament, The Great Doctrines, Summaries, Teaching Plans, and even bonus material. My favorite section was entitled, "Master the Bible So Well that the Bible Masters You." In my favorite section, Max emphasizes 4 areas as well as practical tips on how to accomplish this. For example: 1. Read the Bible for breadth of knowledge; 2. Study the Bible for depth of knowledge; 3. Memorize the Bible; and 4. Meditate on the Bible... I think my biggest issue with the book is that Max begins by saying all you need is 15 minutes, but I would say that more time is needed. After each section in the book, Max gives the reader a review and self test - and for my brain... I definitely could use more time. What a great book to lay the foundation of the Bible and even for those of us that already know the Bible - it's a wonderful refresher. I would definitely recommend this book!

When I received this book, I was over whelmed by the size( 400 pages). Once I started reading and filling in the the blanks I did not want to wait until the next day to keep going! I learned so much and was/am able to remember what I have been taught each day. This is a 30 day plan, you can take longer, but you will not want to! I wish I had picked up this book years ago! Repetition is key to learning. Each day you fill in the blanks of what was learned the day before. EASY! I would recommend th When I received this book, I was over whelmed by the size( 400 pages). Nothing preachy, just a pure history of the Bible. I received this book as a gift. This review is given without compensation.

Good back-to-the-basics teaching of the Bible This book does a great job of providing a basic understanding of the Bible from a Christian perspective. It provides mnemonic techniques for remembering major events, people and lessons. It also explains 10 primary doctrines of Christian belief that I feel every Christian should know and understand. Finally, it concludes with a very basic comparison of Christianity to other world beliefs and what sets Christianity apart from those beliefs. Great overview of the entire span of the Bible This is a great overarching view of the doctrines and books of the Bible. Perfect for new Christians, homeschooled children who need a supplement to the often random teachings of Bible curricula, and just a handy refresher for even the mature believer. I loved the interactive, workbook feel, stressing repetition of key points and forcing me to fill in the blanks. I highly recommend!

GREAT workbook-style book. All of the important information is presented clearly and with key phrases made to stand out. You absolutely will learn about the Bible: its layout, order, geography, history, key people and events and doctrine. It is very concise and yet still very thorough. Max does a wonderful job of making this easy, whether you are a beginner or a lifelong student of the Bible. Excellently done.

It was definitely worth the "read", but keep in mind this is kind of like a workbook. I expected to be just reading, but it's very interactive and you'll need a pen at all times. Good for a broad overview of the Bible. Uses very simple terms and is easy to understand. Interesting way for a young person to get a fuller picture of what the Bible is.

I really liked this book. It's a great refresher. I feel like ever yr or 2 I should just go over it again. You lose the facts over the yrs. This helps you remember them. I tend to read one book of the bible or do an in depth bible study not read cover to cover. Great for a new believer who doesn't know or an old one because of those reasons. I will definitely keep this book and re-read.

This is a great book for those who need an easy to understand overview of the whole Bible. Not only was it great for my unchurched ladies, but my volunteers all got something from this study. I would highly recommend for small groups.

For Beginners I have not picked a bible in 40 years. I was overwhelmed trying to get started. But this was easy to understand. I read it in one week and made a lot of reference notes. You will enjoy this book.

Have only read the first 3 chapters but I already can understand so much more than I did before. I look forward to each day's chapter and all the information presented. I would recommend this book who would like to feel more comfortable reading the Bible and increasing knowledge.
