A Powerful Motivator for Creative Thinkers! Author Randi Brill knocks it out of the park with 99 Creative WOWs – Words of Wisdom for Business. Author Randi Brill knocks it out of the park with 99 Creative WOWs – Words of Wisdom for Business. This book, chock-full of relevant wisdom, is not only a powerful little tool for business, but I find myself using the quotes with my family as well. Whether you are a business owner, a recent graduate, a teacher, or a parent, you’ll find something you can use in Brill’s motivational book. Her quotes are divided into three categories: Creative, Personal, and Business, but they overlap. For example, Know the Why. Create the What. The rest will follow, is relevant whether you’re creating a new product for your company or whipping up something for dinner. I was hooked as soon as I saw the book’s very first quote: Family First. Always. As a working mother and business owner, I know the struggle of finding balance. Many of the motivational books I’ve read talk forever about upping your game in business, but very few address the fact that some of us want to have time to make pancakes with the family on Saturday mornings. So when I saw Brill’s first quote, I knew her heart was in the right place. Whatever you learn is yours to keep, is another of my favorite quotes from the book, and Brill is eager to share. With more than three decades of business savvy, Brill has the know-how. She started her first company in her basement with $75 and turned it into a multi-million-dollar business. Then she took the knowledge she gained from that to create a thriving consumer-driven on-line business. She is successfully into her third company now, and that, too, is reaching high places. Now, on top of being an author, she has added podcasts to her growing list of accomplishments. How does she do it? What drives her? The answers are within the pages of her book. It’s a short, easy read, and because of Brill’s graphic design talents, also very eye-catching. Buy one for yourself, and one to gift to the upcoming graduate on your list. You’ll be instantly inspired.

I found it hard to imagine how graphically designed tidbits of words and phrases would entice me before I read this book. But now I’m hooked, with ideas resonating for different purposes and thoughts jumping back into mind as I read different books and face different problems. A surprisingly clever, intriguing and well-presented book, 99 creative wows would be a perfect present for a friend or gift to yourself. Then “Whatever you learn is yours to keep.” I’ll keep and reread this book! Disclosure: I was given a copy by a publicist and I have voluntarily chosen to write this honest review. I honestly love it.

When the term “wow” is used in business it generally infers that you are exceeding the customer's expectations with a pleasant surprise and the customer's needs are addressed thoughtfully and in unexpected ways. Successful businesswoman Randi Brill fully understands the term “wow” and has come up with ninety-nine creative “wows” or words of wisdom that as she mentions in her pocket-size book, 99 Creative Wows: Words of Wisdom for Business will provide rapid-fire jumps to help develop, enhance and confirm your creative business savvy fast. Brill informs us that these are basically words that are designed as quick, colorful sound bites for new and seasoned professionals and cover a gamut of experiences. You are probably asking who is Randi Brill? She is a successful businesswoman who started her first enterprise, Quarasan, in her basement in 1982. Over the ensuing thirty plus years she managed to build her business into a top educational product developer, delivering concepts, designs and content services for leading educational publishers. One of the principal themes of the book is having the right mental approach to accomplishing tasks and thus tapping into these words of wisdom will provide satisfaction and happiness as well as a kind of high. As Brill mentions in her introduction, some of the “wows” may be new to you, nonetheless, consider how you might incorporate them into your work. Other “wows” may be quite familiar and by confirming these, your business confidence will be reinforced. And even if you don't agree with some of the “wows” that is also great. But just remember the basic tenet that business does not get done until things happen and these “wows” will help you get it to happen. Brill divides her “wows” into three main categories: “Business”, “Creative”, and “Personal.” These divisions or strategies of “wows” are described as follows: “Business inspire, intrigue and illuminate ideas for professionals. This ready-to-apply wisdom helps accelerate a diverse array of business situations and challenges.” For example, as pointed out, “sell the feeling of security not the lock.” Creative “wows” “spark ingenuity and motivate business professionals to infuse creative problem-solving approaches, adding valuable results.” In other words, don't fall in love with your work, leave that to others. Personal “wows” offer thoughtful perspectives when life's challenges tax even resilient individuals, helping define the landscape for next steps.” Broadly, whatever you learn is yours to keep. All of these enriching “wows” will help in establishing a unique competitive strategy and translate into results. It will also aid you in using innovation to your advantage. No doubt, much of what is mentioned in the book have been covered dozens of times in other tomes, but it is the way Brill packages her inspirational messages that conveys a new meaning. From her personal experiences in creating her own creative agency, she understands the importance of using design and creativity in solving problems for all kinds of businesses. Brill's rational approach to success finds a welcome home on the bookshelves of recent college graduates, professionals striving to make their mark on the business or creative world, business people involved in start-ups, people struggling to run a business and a host of others. Often a book's value consists in its ability to show you a better way to perform your daily tasks or to get you back on track. Brill's practical advice from someone in the know fits that criteria perfectly. Follow http://1clickurls.com/RTfN84d To Read Norm's Interview With Randi Brill

She utilized her skills by successfully launching Quarasan, a dynamic educational product development firm, creating and producing top educational programs for the nation’s leading publishers. But as is evident from the energy found on every page of this innovative and stimulating guide to gain access to the leadership hot seat in business, she confides that her post-graduate work at ‘Randi’s Real-World University, majoring in Take Smart Risks with a double minor in Figure It Out and Gee, That Really Didn’t Work’ was the key. And it is that door she opens to readers of this invaluable book. Beginning with the graphically sophisticated colorful layout of this book, the reader realizes that here is a creative teacher for success in leadership. Randi’s tag word WOWs (‘Words Of Wisdom”) appears throughout the book in vivid color variations – a subtle but impressive device. And she opens with a reassuring comment – ‘Experience is a profound teacher. From experience, we learn what works, what doesn’t, what to repeat and what never to attempt again. We learn from mistakes, missteps and crash landings. As an entrepreneur, I’ve personally experienced every one of these instructional models – often. I would not trade one moment of my own professional journey, yet a multi-decade itinerary is no longer practical. In today’s briskly competitive world, new and seasoned business contributors, creatives and entrepreneurs need to gain wisdom – now.’ And that is the gunshot that opens the gates and sends the race on its way. With that inspirational and very accurate assessment of how the world is spinning at present, Randi punctuates her WOWs into three categories - Business (inspire, intrigue and illuminate ideas for professionals), Creative (spark ingenuity and motivate professionals to infuse creative problem solving) and Personal (offer thoughtful perspectives when life’s challenges tax even resilient individuals). And again utilizing superb graphics she shares on each page each of her 99 WOWs. So well designed are Randi’s WOWs that every page turned creates a stimulus for change/improvement/learning. A couple of examples: ‘Blinders are for horses; vision is for entrepreneurs’, ‘Expect challenges. If none arise, go out and discover some’, ‘Creative authenticity always matters’, ‘Integrity is the glue in every business connection’, and more and more. Simply stated, Randi Brill has created the go-to book for the fast track to success no matter the level of the reader. This is an indispensible, must read book on every level.

Whether you are a recent college graduate, a new business owner or a seasoned professional eager to enhance and beef up your creative business savvy, Randi Brill’s refreshing primer, “99 Creative WOW’s” is a surefire, rapid and colorful guide that enables you to reach new levels of success. The author, who launched her first business, Quarasan, at age 25 in the basement of her four-room home, is a graduate in Graphic Design from Carnegie Mellon University. For the last 30 years, Randi has used real-world experience to grow her company into a “dynamic educational product development firm, creating and producing top educational programs” for leading publishers around the country. With “99 Creative WOW’s” (short for Words of Wisdom), Randi Brill now presents this knowledge in a format that is both a visually pleasing and meticulously motivational list of tools for business and professional entrepreneurs. The book’s 99 bite-sized WOW’s focus on three main areas: business, personal and spiritual growth. As Brill demonstrates in her brief introduction, many of them overlap from one area to another. Each axiom is presented in a creative design, featuring a rainbow of colors and specifying (in the corner) what specific area it might pertain to. For example, the author’s first lesson is Personal, stating simply, “Family first. ALWAYS.” In the Business arena, Brill cautions, “Blinders are for horses; VISION is for entrepreneurs.” And for Creative advice, the author advises, “JUST START. You’ll figure out the next step after the first.” And that is just the tip of the iceberg. Other extremely insightful and motivational tidbits and soundbites: “If you carry baggage, you must CHECK it before you FLY,” “Walk in your client’s shoes & KNOCK THEIR SOCKS OFF,” “BIG ideas BENEFIT from a little time to simmer” and “HONOR your WORD. IT’S ALL you’ve got.” In this current age of downsizing, this book is perfect for those who like their advice rapid-fire and concise. This is highly valuable information from a successful, proven creative entrepreneur. And these 99 axioms will inspire, intrigue and illuminate ideas for professionals of every stripe. This magnificent collection of “real world” wisdom truly has to be seen to be fully appreciated. You may read some of the same advice in other books, but it is the presentation that distinguishes “99 Creative WOW’s” from other motivational primers. And as Randi Brill mentions, sometimes in the real world, a refreshing and colorful presentation can make all the difference in the world. This is a must-read volume, in my opinion, for young and old alike.

As a weird mix of writer and entrepreneur, I’m always looking for ways to motivate myself and guide my business pursuits. I’m happy to say that 99 Creative WOWs by Randi Brill fits my needs perfectly, both confident in its wisdom but also flexible and creative enough to let the readers decide how exactly the WOWs fit their lives. Creative types and business professionals alike will want a copy of this book. From the importance of family to putting yourself in your client’s shoes, 99 Creative WOWs As a weird mix of writer and entrepreneur, I’m always looking for ways to motivate myself and guide my business pursuits. I’m happy to say that 99 Creative WOWs by Randi Brill fits my needs perfectly, both confident in its wisdom but also flexible and creative enough to let the readers decide how exactly the WOWs fit their lives. Creative types and business professionals alike will want a copy of this book. From the importance of family to putting yourself in your client’s shoes, 99 Creative WOWs covers pretty much everything young professionals might help with in regards to business, creativity, and their personal lives. Brill encourages balance among these three categories first and foremost, which is one of the many reasons that this book stands out to me. It’s not just about how to start and run a successful business; it’s about being innovative in all areas of your life and making your work and personal life progress in harmony with each other. The colorful words and wacky variations in their size, font, and orientation will be much more engaging to creative professionals than the typical inspirational or self-help book. Still, some people might find them to be a little much. I could not look at all 99 WOWs at once because they hurt my eyes. However, it’s very important to note that I have severe eye strain anyway, so this should not affect your decision about getting this book. Another of the unique aspects of this book is that it actually has an introduction and a page following the 99 WOWs which give the readers guidance on how to use the WOWs. The introduction gives information about the author, how the WOWs came about, what they are, and how many of them can be used interchangeably among the categories. The final page gives four different ways in which you can use the entire book, from a one-a-day method to reviewing the whole book quarterly. I found this unique because too often I come across books which just provide the mantras, quotes, or words of wisdom without any guidance on appliance whatsoever. With as vague as the WOWs can seem, I think it’s a good thing that Brill just nipped that issue in the bud. All in all, I think that any creative professional will want to have this book on hand. It’s inspirational, a quick read, and something which you’ll revisit any time that you’re stuck on a project, dealing with a particularly hard client, or losing control of your personal life. It’s also small enough to carry with you wherever you’ll need it!

Priceless WOWs from Randi Brill The author of this highly motivational book at the age of 14 knew she was ‘Going to be in charge of something,’ and sure enough she has been in her own words ‘in charge of several “somethings” since then.’ Randi Brill received a BFA in Graphic Design from Carnegie Mellon University, and then her education really began in the real world! The experience she has gained so far in her working career through, hard work, forward thinking, the determination to succeed, and real guts made her the woman she is today. She admits to using personally, and sharing as Chief Creative Officer of QuaraCORE, WOWs or Words of Wisdom every day. It is her belief in the power of these that instigated her to produce this inspiring book so others can be energised and learn by them too. The WOWs are categorised into Business, Personal and Creative, although the author says that they may well overlap for the reader. The whole book is so bright and attractively displayed that it is quick and inviting to read, yet the WOWs are so motivating that they stick in your mind. Whether you are launching a new business, resurrecting an old one or looking to change your career or direction, these words of wisdom will not only inspire and motivate you, they will also give you food for thought. What I really loved about this book is that many of the words of wisdom come from experience and for me, and I am sure for you, they will either ring a bell straight away or if not, I am sure they will come to mind at some time in the future when you are in a particular situation. The amazing achievements of this author in themselves are an inspiration, and in reading this fantastic book we are fortunate enough to gain from her words of wisdom, derived from her vast experience. This little book is a gold mine of tips and one I shall treasure for always and re-read frequently!

The website www.quaracore.com has more detailed information. I enjoyed Brill's "99 Creative WOWs," including the formatting by three color codes - Business, Creative, Personal - that gave me a quick read with time for introspection. Brill suggests periodically rereading the book in different sequences, as a refresher and to gain new insights. I've worked in newspaper graphic design, and appreciated the variety in colorful designs from page to page. New high school or college graduates may be apprehensive about their future, and Brill's book will give them food for thought and reassurance. She works with C-level executives to find business solutions, although the ideas in "99 Creative WOWs: Words of Wisdom for Business" are useful for all. The insights apply to personal life, too, and are ideal to share with colleagues for thoughtful discussion. Sometimes colleagues must simply agree to disagree, and I find that "99 Creative WOWs" can help those in business to find common ground and goals. Four stars.
