That was actually a pretty exciting issue. It gave us some character building and we got to learn a tiny bit more about Rebirth.

Can't wait to get a definitive answer as to who Mr. Oz is.

Only Human Parts 1-2: The best thing about this two-shot is the juxtaposition of world-views. In 50 pages, Williams lays out the main difference between these two rival/allies. At the end of several really awful months, Clark is more optimistic than ever and firmly believes - or wants to - that humans can be better than they often act, that anyone can be a hero. He'll confront Lex when suspicious and stop the bad guys, but he always WANTS to believe the best and is quick to suggest a "team up," Only Human Parts 1-2: The best thing about this two-shot is the juxtaposition of world-views. In 50 pages, Williams lays out the main difference between these two rival/allies. At the end of several really awful months, Clark is more optimistic than ever and firmly believes - or wants to - that humans can be better than they often act, that anyone can be a hero. He'll confront Lex when suspicious and stop the bad guys, but he always WANTS to believe the best and is quick to suggest a "team up," even with Lex. Lex, on the other hand, resents Clark's goodness. Why? Because Clark makes it sound/look easy to be good. In Lex's mind, Clark has expectations humans can never meet. And so, Clark can't be Earth's protector because he doesn't understand humanity's constant struggle between good and evil. Lex's realism/pessimism about human nature means he never gives anyone the benefit of the doubt - not even Superman. And this makes them fascinating together; they make each other more interesting, and I suspect give us a foretaste of what is coming in November...

I just finished reading Action #987 and then it dawned on me that I never read #986. I had it in my TBR pile, but somehow skipped over it. It truly does tie into #987. The endings to both issues are very mysterious and amazing. Makes me feel like a young kid again back in the 60's when I first out who the Green Goblin was! Oh yeah, this next arc is going to impact the Superman titles a lot!
