A charming story with a gentle love story mixed in with the being a mermaid transformation and the impending war. Well written, clear and easy to understand. An enjoyable light read. Soul Stalkers - Norma Hinkins Cursed Magic - Margo Bond Collins and Rebecca Hamilton White as Snow - May Sage Murder by Magic Catherine Vale Soulless Monica Corwin The Princess and the Vampire - Thea Atkinson What Devil's May Come - Rachel McClellan Changed - Debbie Herbert Tara's world had recently changed dramatically from it's original course. Before she was a witch who was happy to go along with her coven's focus on world domination, then she was in love with an immortal called Andrew and had finally seen the truth - determined to extricate herself from the world she was in she went to a final coven meeting hoping this was he start of her new future. Drama in spades in this story that sets the scene for the Appalachian Magic series of books by Debbie. Proof that life (and love) never run smoothly for all races but that it is possible to get a HEA in the end. Well written and emotions clear and easy to empathise with. Ink - Melanie Karsak Academia of the Beast - KN Lee Allyn is a witch who lives if the slums of Eastria having escaped the hunters. Just before the Winter Winds trap everyone in their homes for the season she goes with friends to the Winter Ball and meets the crown prince of Elastria and she has hope for a brighter future until her ex-boyfriend tricks her and she is tuned in for the bounty on her head. She then finds herself a prisoner in a strange castle that has ghost servants and talking walls. Can she tame the prince's mysterious twin and can she cure the curse? This was a great retelling of Beauty and the Beast. It was well written, and I could definitely put myself in the position of the characters and relate to their feelings and emotions. Blue Moon - Morgan J Parker and Nathan Squiers Origins - Rebecca Hamilton The regent needs a wife who is a witch who can give him a child to take over protecting the sector from the Ravagers. Problem is he is infertile so keeps banishing his wives to be killed rather than admit he has a problem. Alec is a Hunter who searches for witches for the regent to marry and is looking for the next person. Adira is a witch that that Alec finds but cannot bear to hand her in immediately so gives her 13 days to prepare for the tests she will have as the regent's chosen bride. Alec helps to train her in combat in preparation for handing her in. Will he have the strength to hand her in or will they both give in to the pull between them? I loved this book and the twists and turns in the story. A couple of times I became quite teary eyed so could definitely sense the emotion in those sections. Definitely recommended. The Appalachian Magic series by Debbie Herbert continues with an intriguing short story in the Poison and Potions boxed set. CHANGED is a new adult paranormal romance about a witch and an immortal, whose relationship is challenged by numerous secrets. These hidden facts test his devotion, and could result in their breaking up. Or this ordeal might prove they are meant to be together for a long time. CHANGED is a new adult paranormal romance about a witch and an immortal, whose relationship is challenged by numerous secrets. These hidden facts test his devotion, and could result in their breaking up. Or this ordeal might prove they are meant to be together for a long time. As the daughter of a witch, Tara takes part in coven ceremonies and abides by their wishes. But when her love for Andrew who is an immortal becomes more important to her, she is ready to turn her back on her own kind and not needlessly harm anyone. Unfortunately, upon stating she is leaving the coven, a curse is place on her, one that must be kept secret or consequences would be dire. Even if the previous books in the series have not been read, it was easy to understand the world of immortals is changing. Andrew is trying to overcome his instinct to kill, and Tara is ready to not follow the demands of the coven’s leader. But her desire to be a better individual does not come without a huge penalty in the form of a curse, and what she must keep unspoken causes many difficulties. I enjoyed watching her work toward her goal in order to break the curse, because I wanted to see her reactions along with those of Andrew as each situation played out. Debbie Herbert fills CHANGED with unexpected surprises and compelling emotions. I voluntarily reviewed the story and all comments are my honest opinion

*I will be doing updates of new reviews when I complete the stories within this collection* Murder by Magic Now this is the ONLY way that I will read a murder mystery!!!!! Ms. Vale did a wonderful job with the mixture of murder, mystery and the paranormal in her first Urban Fantasy book. Orgins Wow, this definitely was a excellent book, with over the top world building and characters. I rarely read dystopian books but this one is in a paranormal setting, written by a killer author, so I of course had to read it. If you like paranormal with a lot of action this is the book to read Moon Coven Let me first say I was sad to see the story end as it is a paranormal twist to a Romeo and Juliet type story that pulls you in and keeps you reading wanting to know what is going to happen next. All in all it reminds you that love can overcome all no matter who says it is forbidden. What Devils May Come I love the fact that we get to see into Charlie's life between the other books. His story with Miora was so exciting to read and then the ending just made me tear up even though I knew the outcome since I have read the entire series.

I read Changed by Debbie Herbert, as I'm a fan of her Appalachian Magic series and that story falls in with those books. Tara is cursed to reap souls until a quota is reached. In order to break the curse she is forced to leave her true love. The familiarity of the characters and the quick pace of the story were masterful. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. For a short story, the characters were fairly well developed and I got a strong sense of what they stood for. Kindle Unlimited and also for sale so gave it a read, and very glad did BEFORE buying, because was pretty much unimpressed and somewhat nauseated at what is supposed to be a paranormal romance and urban fantasy collection, which seemed to be primarily romance crap, as in 90210 teen angst juvenile junk. There was a couple of stories that were at least okay, but definitely not worth the 2.99 price even, wouldn't have thought so if it had been 99. In this collection, I read Changed by Debbie Herbert. I hope to read the rest of these great authors soon. Changed was a well written, entertaining read. The story was short enough that I was able to read it in one sitting, yet it gave me all the satisfaction of reading a full story. It was fast-paced, full of page-turning moments, and complete. Engrossed, I intend to read more of the Appalachian Magic series. #housewisereview #arc #amreading

Disappointed I got exactly what I expected from these stories. Magic and sex. What disappointed me was the lack of editing. Sad that writers let the stories go out to the world so poorly written.
