This review is for the free comic day edition. A solid first chapter in what promises to be an epic African and Asian sword and sandal adventure. While it's not remotely required to enjoy the story, I found that the source book WindMaker: The History of Atala - Art Inspired by African History increased the reading experience. Looking forward to getting the full graphic novel version of this. This review is for the free comic day edition. This comic has much promise. I only wish that the main character's story was more developed in her early years in order to avoid the inevitable plot holes. This comic has much promise. This is a pretty great setup. There's nothing wrong with it, and a lot right with it. This is a pretty great setup. There's nothing wrong with it, and a lot right with it.

The art is exceptional. The plot... eh. History still isn't my thing. The art is exceptional. The plot... eh. History still isn't my thing.

Great artwork. Don't know if I'm invested enough in the story to seek out the rest of the issues but if I stumble across them I might well pick them up. Great artwork. Good action sequences. It's interesting seeing Malika in modern day and fighting on her own/ not leading a military. Good action sequences. It's interesting seeing Malika in modern day and fighting on her own/ not leading a military.
