Glazov and Novak are cousins, in their minds: They are born Bratva. And they will die Bratva.

As much as the blurbs for Suzanne Steele's books call to me, undoubtedly resulting in a "one click" purchase and a bump to the top of my TBR list, I think it might be time for me to hang it up. Every time I let myself get lured in by the temptingly dark premises of her stories, I end up being left wanting. I know that many people love these short stories, but I need more. Alexander Glazov is the head of his Russian mob family. As expected, he is dominating, controlling, obsessive and has no problem keeping sex separate from any sort of emotional attachments. Just picture the stereotypical, Alpha-mobster that takes center stage in a million other romance/erotica novels and you'll know the type. The heroine, Kathleen, is a woman who prides herself on her independence. She's a business owner and has had to work hard for everything in her life. Orphaned in her youth, she is also emotionally vulnerable and craves affection. She has never had a "family" and longs for the security and sense of belonging that a relationship offers. When Kathleen follows her employee, Robin, late one evening, she ends up at a private, illegal gambling establishment owned by Glazov. Dragging her friend out of the place, her antics catch the eye of Alexander as he's watching her on the security cameras. Right then, he decides that he will have her. Preying on Robin's weaknesses, Alexander offers a line of credit to the gambling addict. He knows that she will be unable to resist temptation and will find herself in over her head. Knowing that she will never be able to pay him back, he plans to take Kathleen as payment. As planned, Kathleen ends up being at the mercy of Alexander. She can either agree to be his, or she sentences her friend to death. Of course, she chooses the first option. While I loved the premise of this story, I found the delivery to be rather lackluster. Everything happened too quickly and too easily. The emotions didn't ring true and I never felt a connection to any of the characters. A storyline needs to be developed to be convincing. That just didn't happen here. As a result, the entire story fell flat for me. I need more build-up and development. I want to feel the emotions of the characters, not just be "told" what they supposedly feel in a forced and unbelievable manner. I love a quick read, but only when it doesn't take away from the execution. Unfortunately, this one just didn't work for me. It was a short, smutty and mediocre read for me. This was just OK to me. I usually love the over the top alpha, and I LOVE Russian mobsters, but I never felt an ounce of connection between the H/h. He just basically forced her into everything, and even at the end of the book she was sneaking around to take photos of him to use against him if the need arose. So much love (insert sarcasm voice).

This was the first book I've read of this author and since then, I've been following her next release. I've read some of her books already and have her other books to read but this is my favorite book of hers. Her books are dark but at the same time safe to read. She writes alpha males that you'll love. I love how Possessive and protective Glazov was to his "Ptichka". The story was short but I enjoyed it. Loved it!

The only thing I enjoyed in this book was hero’s jealousy and his obsession with the heroine. I find no reason for heroine to take her immature friend’s debt. She came as a weakling for most of the time. And hero wasn’t scary..at all. He was sadistic and mean but sadly, all that didn’t resonate with me. Can’t believe I’m saying this but man this book contains too much intimate scenes. Like page after page, only these things. I lost interest very quickly.

My two favorite quotes. ... “You know, I like you. Anyone else, I just kill them.” “Charmed, I’m sure,” I muttered. AND ALSO... “So you admit of your own free will that you chose to date the most dangerous Russian mobster on the FBI’s radar?” I looked him right in the eye and said, “I think that you need to go, because as far as I am concerned, the government crossed a line when they sent you to monitor who I fuck.” I think I might be in need of me a Glazov. I love the way these men obsess over a woman and that woman gets under their skin. Once they do cross it's basically life as you know it is now over for both of them. Glazov is the epidomy of the Russian Mafia. Kathleen is tough as nails and gives almost as good as she gets. This is a quicky and a complete standalone but does cross with other novellas with their characters. Perfect for me as I want my favorites to keep living on and showing up when I least expect them too. I so love this author!

Kathleen was brought up in foster care, she's no family and no real friends she's had to struggle, work hard and fight to get where she is today, so when her assistant Robin confides that she's in debt to none other than Alexander Glazov, the ruthless Russian mobster Kathleen feels her protective instincts kick in. It turns out Robin owes one hundred thousand dollars and so Kathleen steps up and goes to meet the man himself to sort it out. Now Kathleen was not prepared for Glazov, she didn't expect him to be so handsome and so totally in control, power just seems to surround him and the control she felt when she walked in there is soon stripped away and now Glazov wants her, very badly. I have to say I loved this book Glazov is just fantastic and Kathleen can hold her own against him, well up to a certain point of course but more than any other woman has ever done, it's as if they were made for each other. I always try to give a totally honest review and so if you were being picky you could argue that the start of the book is unrealistic, would Kathleen really take on one hundred thousand dollars of debt for her assistant? The thing is it doesn't matter, it's a means to an end this book is about Glazov and Kathleen, their relationship and it works, it's fabulous and I loved it and it's straight onto 'Glazov's Legacy' for me.

Will you be my whore to pay off your friends debt? ...And that's the plot of this book basically. I LOVED IT! Their relationship is not a cutesy gush aww type, its a dark obsessive and not healthy type of relationship. The chemistry between the two characters!! We're basically just following the evolution of Kathleen and Glazov's relationship. In which he is overbearing Alpha male and she's trying to resist him. I really like the fact that no matter what was going on Kathleen always made sure her business wasn't neglected and that Glazov didn't try any of that "leaving you for your own good crap"....(view spoiler)[Although in some instances what he did was just as bad if not worse. (hide spoiler)] I was drawn inexorably to the untapped fire that smoldered within her. It was a flame I knew well; I had been born for the sole purpose of carrying on my fathers legacy. Bratva was my destiny and I embraced it, would fight and die for it. I recognized that same fighting spirit in Kathleen.

Umm...I don't think I read the same book as everyone else read. Am I missing something here? Five stars, really? Eh, to each their own. I didn't think it was dark. I didn't think it was even erotic. Events happened way too fast. I could care less about the characters. Their motions throughout the story were quite unbelievable. Hell, the whole story had me all, "Whaa?" Sorry, I was just expecting more.

They fell to fast for each other and I was not convinced in that emotion...again, a little longer=opportunity to develop the story more. #2-A crime boss who is also a sadist? What a stretch....no, just kidding...I think it is ideal scenario. Someone who does not mind killing, maiming and threatening violence when the payments are not on time certainly might get off on being the control person when dishing out pain. The author did a great job of making this character very dominant and controlling as well as sexy and hot. I just wish we had gotten into his head to see why this gal was so important to him. #3-I think a little more "inside the head" of the hero would have helped to understand why he faked his death and moved his girl to Moscow? I know the why's but I think knowing that he had a thing for her and was worried about the FBI would have let us see his feelings and concern for her. #4-Hero needed to soften up and show love and concern for the reader, not just say he cared for her...for example: Telling your wife when she is asks to take her high risk pregnancy back to the USA to give birth that "You are three weeks from giving birth to my son and I have every intention of f*$King him from your loins tonight" is not showing love and concern for her...and in fact: not a very romantic mood setter for a night of romance either. #5-Erotic? eh yeah I guess. Not bad, but not as mind blowing, eye bugging, fanning yourself a read that some scenes do to you. Despite all this....There is something here and I actually enjoyed the progression of this story. I think had the author elongated the story, added some more flesh to the bone and it would have made a much better story. I would say go ahead and read it. It is short and you will not invest alot of time on something that is pretty good.

I didn't like this one. I couldn't connect with the characters. The main guy was a jerk. The cat and mouse game got old because there was no relationship out of the bed. I don't even understand why she was fighting it if she kept sleeping with him. this wasn't for me. I had to force myself to finish.

How many of us would willingly sacrifice our freedom for a friend’s gambling debt? Not many. Once Kathleen made up her mind to settle her friend’s debt, she thought her business savvy would serve as a buffer….a buffer for what? Glazov is one of the most powerful men in this country. It’s so adorable Kathleen thinks she can strike a mutually beneficial agreement with a man such as Glazov. After entering Glzov’s lair, Kathleen doesn’t know what hit her. She is pulled into a storm of intense passion, mind play, and every decision manipulated by Glazov. Oh but the rewards….man! The pleasure is worth every little morsel of what Kathleen endures! This story has some dark tendencies and those tendencies make Glazov and Kathleen’s story so DELISH! It’s definitely not a flowery romance…in other words it’s definitely for adults who can handle more than “vanilla” love play! Glazov’s mouth is filthy and I absolutely love it! This story is fast paced, uber sexy, sooooooooooooooo yummy! You will definitely read their story read again and again!

This was a quick read. I just read the revised version of Glazov and I must say, I enjoyed the story much more the second time around. While the story is dark and intense, it's emotional as well. Rene was a complete idiot who didn't deserve a friend like Kathleen. However, her stupidity gave Kathleen the very thing she'd always wanted. Suzanne did an amazing job with the revision of Glazov. While reading the revised version I felt that I got to know Kathleen and Alexander so much better and I understood what made them tick. As unconventional as their coming together may have been, and as completely different as they are from one another, they seem to be good for each other. The story line itself was good and it seems as though there may be a sequel. Definitely potential for one. I recommend this read to those of you looking for something quick and intense!

5 stars for Glazov... This book is unlike anything I have ever read. It was enjoyable, entertaining, somewhat dark but it was not intense or disturbing. With a hot alpha male and strong female, there were many clashes between them. As I was reading I had no idea which way the story was going but I certainly enjoyed it. Some of the language and situations were actually quite humorous and I found I was chuckling to myself a few times. I don't like the "hero" making statements about I love to give pain and sorry I don't really care how turned on she is by it...no one is going to take a belt to my backside. Oh well. I can't judge..... Interesting and horrifying all at the same time.

A quick read, Glazov is a Russian "thug" on the streets but a straight freak in the sheets with a nasty mouth. Kathleen is a respectful and independent woman who learns she's just as much a freak as he is. I think the story could have been better if it weren't so rushed.

Hmmm, I wanted to read some good smut and got some bad. Here's what didn't work: a) The heroine wants to save her employee (who is indebted to the Bratva with over 50.000$ ). They aren't BFFs, have no other connection with each other than work and still the heroine is such a good girl that she immediately wants to mortgage her house. Puhlease. I would have problems swallowing this excuse with her best friend but for a silly co-worker? Nevahhh. I didn't care for his kind of punishments at all. c) After a few encounters, the dom, of course, knows that the heroine is HIS woman he wants to impregnate. While I adore insta-love stories, I ABSOLUTELY hate those insta-impregnating plots. And how can she want it? He's an asshole? F (not because it was badly written but because I want to slap both of them silly)

Unforgettable! Unputdownable! Lawd, have mercy! I love Glazov, he is such a hot, growling alpha! I love this book and the characters! Glazov is a permanent fixture in my library and I enjoy him often! Lol! Glazov and Kathleen are incredibly sensual and explosive together, one of the best matches in the Bratva romance category! Their story is intense with mob action, suspense, lots of feels, fan-requiring steam, and even some wit. Glazov comes with a big recommendation for readers who like organi Unforgettable! It does contain power exchange D/s elements so please do not read if this offends or triggers you.

I can't really choose what made me hate this book so much. If anyone asked me what the worst quality of this sad excuse of a "Bratva story" was, I'd have a difficult time choosing. Everything was wrong was this story. The characters were awful, boring, mad and sometimes too weird. I didn't connect with the heroine at all. She spent about 90% of the book telling the reader how much she hated Glazov and when he suddenly disappeared (and I have no idea what kind of a pathetic plot includes the hero I can't really choose what made me hate this book so much. She spent about 90% of the book telling the reader how much she hated Glazov and when he suddenly disappeared (and I have no idea what kind of a pathetic plot includes the hero hiding in another country like a fucking coward to lure his pregnant wife over to his place without alerting the police and he even staged his own death which is the most pathetic, horrendous, despicable part of this book since no real man would actually stage his death in front of his pregnant wife and risk the death of his child. That was when I decided Glazov was just a pussy and nothing better than a coward) she decided that she luuuurved him so much and wanted his child more than anything despite telling him again and again she didn't wanna be impregnated. This is what authors think is a joke: using over-possessiveness to hide the abusive nature of a man to convince everyone what he's doing is moral and ethical. I don't get why anyone thinks a man forcing himself on a woman (even when she might act like she wants it) is not abuse especially since Kathleen flat out told "no" to Glazov. Glazov was manipulative, controlling and a sad excuse of a hero. Kathleen was one of the weakest heroines ever and it was so irritating how the author kept calling her "strong" and "independent" despite the way she acted throughout the story. I guess the main problem wasn't even the characters or even the plot. i actually liked the idea of a Russian mob and their gang-leader. What irked me was the author's poor as fuck style of writing and no sense of vocabulary. If the author claimed her novel was now a full-length one, she only accomplished that by repeating same paragraphs in every chapter. She must've stated how Glazov liked his "ptichka" at least 15 times and how Kathleen didn't "want" Glazov at least 10 times as well. And the "best" part is how she didn't even change the wording every time she said these lines. All in all, this story was bordering on being an okay-read and a tortuous read. This is why i was extremely surprised to find myself picking up the next part to read and I was sourly disappointed with the second part as well. Needless to say, I won't ever be reading anything from this author ever again.

I love mafia romance books and when I came across this book I was so excited to get started. I love dark, very alpha, anti hero types and I though this book will WOW me based on the high scoring this book has received. There was absolutely no character development, I felt no connection with either the hero or heroine, neither characters where likable. Kathleen annoyed and irritated me, there was nothing to her character for me to even like. Glazov was mediocre as a Mafia boss, there was no evident that he was powerful or people where scared of him, or he was well respected in the criminal circles, we just got told it was so. I just finished this book and I can't remember if they even had a real conversation. Glazov's obsession with Kathleen became redundant and I got annoyed with it. The plot is extremely weak and the sex was mediocre and disappointing. I just could not buy into the fact that they fell in love with each other, HOW did that happen when they did not even have a conversation??? The biggest irritant was why Glazov faked his death or better yet what lead to it, surely one little FBI agent appearing in Kathleen's office does not warrant Glazov running away - where is the badass RUSSIAN MAFIA BOSS???, but then who knows because the book does not tell us this!!!!. Where was the romance in this book, this is supposed to be a MAFIA ROMANCE except it had nothing relating to the MAFIA or ROMANCE. What did Glazov do the whole day, there was no mention of any mafia wheeling and dealing. It was very frustrating being told every other chapter what an amazing business women Kathleen is. I also did not understand why she would help her assistant when clearly they where not close. For someone who is so smart and successful, Kathleen was the only one sacrificing for her assistant, yet her assistant carried on with her life like nothing happened - SERIOUSLY !!!!!. This book had a solid plot line and it could have gone far but it just fell flat. I cannot recommend this book as it was weak and just very frustrating to read.

Glazov is a love story of sorts. Dark, twisted, dirty and yet intriguing. Its not quite like anything I have read before. I was interested from the start, absorbed into the storyline and entertained all the way through. This is a fast read that is well-written and unpredictable making it difficult to put the book down so I didn't. I read until the end. Eyes popped while glued to the pages. The characters. Are life-life and three-dimensional and curiously flawed. Compelling, to say the least. "I wo Glazov is a love story of sorts. Dark, twisted, dirty and yet intriguing. "I would awaken in the middle of the night to him whispering softly in my ear, as his hands swept with expert percussion over my body. His whispers were soft yet threatening; telling me that he would never let me go, telling me he was going to force me to bear his son; as payment for my debt. He would tell me in the same sentence that he owned me, and that he loved me. He would tell me that he would kill me before he ever let me go. Everything that I had ever been taught to avoid in a man; he was......Yet......I wanted him, I craved him, I loved him..."
