Easy to navigate and excellent for research on the art style.

I really enjoyed this and have no problem recommending it for different ages. I would have liked to see more about Wonder Woman #600 and the authors and artists that came together for it (Alex Garner's gorgeous artwork is on page 15), but otherwise, I really loved this. This book is a guide about Wonder Woman and her life. You get to learn about her friends and enemy's. The great journey of her life and all the incarnations and worlds in the multiverse. You learn about the Amazon way and world. I like this book because it's art style is detailed but not at the same time. It gives you detailed information about her, her friends and enemy's, and her life. Every page tells something different with new characters and stories beyond belief. I've had this book for several years but had not done much more than flip through it. However, after watching Wonder Woman 84, I had some questions about a few things. So, I grabbed this one off the shelf as a reference. After answering the question I had, I decided to read the book from front to back. And I'm so glad that I did. I got into reading comics with the launch of the "New 52" and only had a cursory knowledge of the years of history that formed my favorite iconic characters, including I've had this book for several years but had not done much more than flip through it. This guide provides a brief overview of the Amazon Warrior since her creation in 1941. The structure of the book highlights the key comic periods over time and provides key themes, allies, villains, and storylines throughout the long history of Wonder Woman. I have a much better understanding of the conflicting background and key comics that define the character. And now I have starting points to go back and read some of the key storylines over time. Also, I really want to explore some of the other verions of WOnder Woman across the Multiverse now (who wouldn't want to read about Earth-34 and the fight against Jack the Ripper?). I highly recommed this as a primer and introduction to understand the storied history of the iconic character of Wonder Woman. I did only give four stars because I would have liked to have the artists credited on each page and not as a combined group at the end of the book and the artists, writers, and letterers of the key comics listed for key comics. The work of those people are the reason the character has beceom so iconic and they should be recognized for their contributions.

Organized clearly. Fantastic compendium of key arcs, characters, and storylines within the multiverse. The key to the various eras and cosmic shifts provides a crucial overview. It would be nice if a future edition could include a feature on "Key authors," for example, to focus on such writers as Greg Rucka and Allan Heinberg. Illustrations are splendid. Highly recommended for the Wonder Woman fanatic as well as more casual fans. Organized clearly. Fantastic compendium of key arcs, characters, and storylines within the multiverse. This book provides a great summary of Wonder Woman's major moments since her first appearance in the 1940s. It covers enemies (the originals and the remakes), the complex timelines, and the evolution of the Amazon herself. It includes a lot of great art, so you can also see how Diana has evolved over 70 years. There's just enough detail to help you understand the most important storylines, but art takes up more page space than text, so you still get the "comic" vibe. An informative exploration of the character of Wonder Woman in her various iterations, her varying origin stories, supporting characters, villains and adventures. It’s interesting to see how she, and the narrative and artistic styles, have evolved over 75 years but, oddly, the descriptions of how DC’s big reset moments such as Crisis and Flashpoint have affected her have put me off reading much of her stories, which I’m certain was not the book’s intention.

This was a Christmas gift from my friend Meredith, and I am glad I read it. It was so fascinating to read about the different parts of Diana’s life, I liked the character profiles of some of the supporting players of each era, I even think DC should try to revive some of them. This is a really good read if you want to know everything you can about Wonder Woman.

A recent purchase that I got on the basis of "research" purposes for my essay. But really I just love this beautifully laid-out, illustrated guide to Wonder Woman's history, which does an excellent job of condensing several decades of what is often convoluted and bizarre comic book history into a few hundred pages. This book is a really good overview of wonder woman for one who doesn't reads comics. I was just curious about her character and how she's a figure of female empowerment. I only rated this 3 stars because I'm not a comic reader and into some of the sci-fi aspects of which the novel is comprised. Seems to have a lot of information about WW and her universe. Glad to see that a woman becomes president of the U.S. at least by 1000 years into the future, that she does not rely on a man for anything and that men don't mind sharing household chores in the golden age of humanity. It's wonderful to have these quick guides to the oft murky history of DC's finest heroes. Everything is laid out simply and straightforward for those of us who have yet to scratch the surface on Wonder Woman's 75 years of stories. Finally finished the last few pages in this today. I was never a wonder woman fan but I did fall in love with Etta Candy. That woman should get her own film?

A quick overview of her comic book timeline only. I was surprised at how many times she had been reboooted. Some of her storylines were real doozies.
