Book one, Silent Symmetry, introduces Manhattan prep school student Kari Marriner, who becomes aware that mysterious aliens called the Embodied and their pseudo-religion, the Temple of Truth, have been influencing her family’s life for decades. As she falls for Cruz, a boy at school, and meets warring Embodied siblings Noon and Aranara, Kari starts to question her emotions and finds herself ensnared in a mystery that reaches further than she could possibly have imagined. In book two, Starley’s Rust, a charismatic young English artist named Starley, who is plagued by race memories of the Embodied, convinces Kari that he can find her missing mother if she flies to Paris with him to draw out her kidnappers. But the Embodied seemed to have vanished, and now there’s a new, more terrifying visitor from the Dark Universe – a Thoth high priest in the form of a dragon. Kari soon discovers the mind-blowing extent of the Embodied beings’ involvement in human history and her own family’s tragic past. In the trilogy’s thrilling conclusion, Diamond Splinters, Kari has a heart-wrenching choice to make: rescue her mother or save the Earth. And her only hope to figure out a solution is to team up with the one person she can never trust. When a submarine trip to the bottom of the Hudson River ends in death and disaster, Kari is scarred, both emotionally and physically. She wants to run and hide, but digs deep to find new sources of inner strength. As the storm of the century hits New York, a child’s life hangs in the balance and Kari gambles everything in a final confrontation with the genocidal Thoth.

I can almost tell you that I am speechless and not in a bad way. Let me start by saying that TG! This was the full trilogy in one pack and I did not have to go through the endless weight of waiting for each volume to get done. So YAY for that! This was really interesting actually and I loved the storyline as it was truly original. I will be honest, I did not see this coming at all. So in terms of surprises I was really served and I loved every second of it. The 3 books were really nice written, wi I can almost tell you that I am speechless and not in a bad way. So in terms of surprises I was really served and I loved every second of it. The 3 books were really nice written, with a great flow and some changes in pace but overall, they were a breeze to read and very enjoyable. To be honest when I started reading the books, I totally forgot what the blurb was about and I think that made me love it more without me having odd ideas from said blurb in my mind making me guess what is going on. I am a huge Sci Fi fan and this baby is it! I really liked Kari our leading lady very much, she was exactly as she should be and I loved her reactions to what she was thrown into and most her loyalty to her mom. On the other end of the spectrum we have Cruz her boyfriend throughout the books and can I say that he was really getting on my nerves? To be fair, he was being brainwashed along the way (SPOILER ALERT!!) but still the constant jealousy fits and the anger got old really quickly. There might have been some eye rollign involved every time he got into a huff. I honestly forgot how moody teenage boys are (when did I get this old?) And on the other end of the equation we have Noon and Aranara the resident Aliens for another Universe and those are odd duckies my friends. Honestly, up to the last page I was having a hard time figuring them out, and I think in a way it may have been the point. That did not stop me from enjoying them even naughty Aranara that I could never set my mind if she was really bad or delusional or good. Honestly, it was hard! She does something nice, then she stabs you in the back then reversal again… Exhausting woman! Or Alien….. This was really an entertaining read, lots of action and the second book is oddly my favorite because I LOVED Starley! He was so real and there was no way you did not want to go on that ride with him. The series is truly wonderful and special and way original for certain, in terms of Sci Fi, it has hit the jackpot and I am looking forward to getting my hands on more books by J. B. Dutton. Since the series is all there, I would greatly encourage you to grab a copy and enjoy the fact that you do not have to endure the pain of waiting in between volumes! I really hope you enjoy the series as much as I did!

She encounters many different otherworldly beings and two different groups both working to the same end goal. Throughout it all, she strives to find all the secrets to the mysterious and sometimes sinister Temple of Truth. Love, loss, betrayal and tons of mystery and intrigue tie this series together, keeping me on the edge of my seat. I found this story absolutely riveting and even thought-provoking at times. The worldbuilding was just exquisitely detailed and the characters were some of the most complex that I've ever encountered. This series is absolutely awesome and I really enjoyed reading it! I would definitely recommend this series to anybody and everybody! Too cool to pass up!
