It's a novel about noble intrigue in France, almost like an Alexander Dumas (Senior) book, but nowhere near as interesting. I learned while skimming the rest of the book that it later turns into a boring Gothic. Whenever I read a non-English novel on Gutenberg, I think "someone thought this was worth translating". Maybe it was better in Hungarian and S.E. Boggs was a dull writer? It's a novel about noble intrigue in France, almost like an Alexander Dumas (Senior) book, but nowhere near as interesting.
