I haven't followed the Further Adventures of The Lion King, so these characters are mostly new to me. Go easy. :-p That said, has *anything* ever been said about the Lion Guard? Or the Roar of the Elders? It all seems very new-idea-that-would-have-heavily-influenced-earlier-installments-except-we-only-just-now-thought-of-it. Because seriously - a former cadre of bodyguards with Scar as their leader? Using a mystical roar to disband them and *nobody* in the first movie knew about it? Also, there was a throwaway line about the Guard always being made up of lions, and not a game for Kion and his animal friends (what's a kids' book without a little racism?), but the gang saves the day anyway, and....nothing. No "oh, it's all okay now," or "your friends really proved themselves." It's just left hanging, and we're meant to assume the friends get to stay? Weird.

I liked it a lot From my 6-year-old: It was exciting. I liked how The Roar was big, with a lot of exclamation points. My favorite character is Kion.

Story of young Kylon, as when his friend found himself in danger against there hyenas, To save him, a makes a mighty roar and that belongs to the Lion guard. Simba told his son about the background of the story and asked his son to make a team which safe the pride lands in times of danger and the danger of hyenas came early but they assemble as team and teach them a lesson of lifetime...

Good but text needs fixing Enjoyed reading the story to my son who also seemed to like it very much. The problem is that the text was missing letters on occasion, forcing me to guess at the word from context. If that gets fixed, the ebook was otherwise very enjoyable.

Intriguing! My boys loved this short story. Perfect for their little hearts and souls. The story explains bravery and human emotions about doubt that go along with it.

Slightly racist, a nice throwback to classic Disney.

decent read with my 5 yo daughter This picture book was fun and engaging. I recommended for a quick bedtime read. It's a fresh new take on the modern descendant of Simba and Mufasa. decent read with my 5 yo daughter This picture book was fun and engaging. I recommended for a quick bedtime read.
