It's an automatic 5 stars for books from childhood, folks. No exceptions. In retrospect, these books seem as a capitalist marketing scam to me. Devoting an entire book to the letter 'B'. This means that if you want your kid to be well-rounded in the ways of the Englische alphabet, you have to get (translate: buy) 25 more books. Alas, mom could only afford this one book of 'B' words. As a result, ever since I was but a babe, my babbling speech was a bundle of blundering bumbles that baffled many. It's an automatic 5 stars for books from childhood, folks. No exceptions. I fell behind, and had to bear the big burden of being badly beaten and berated by belligerent bullies. My bocabulary began to sound Hispanic when I pronounced the letter 'V' as a 'B'. My berbiage made people think I was from Benezuela. I was a bery bad boy. Boooo!

A book reminiscent of the Dr. Seuss tongue twisters! I love this book. My kids love to hear me read it as fast as I can. Very easy read for new readers too! The actual book we have is my book from when I was a child (um-hm the 1970's) but I was reintroduced to this particular book when my son was in Speech Therapy. This gave us B words to practice the Bah sound. Love the Berenstains! A book reminiscent of the Dr. Seuss tongue twisters! I love this book. My kids love to hear me read it as fast as I can. You know what is great about this book? It's a pain in the butt to read but it sure is fun to yell, once you've got the whole thing memorized. Big brown bear, Blue bull, BEEEYOOOTIFUL baboon biking backward, blowing bubbles... (you really have to hyper-flourish the word "beautiful" because, well, why wouldn't you?) If you have super annoying children who like to torture you with stories they know by heart, keep this far away from them. You know what is great about this book? A fun book filled with B's. The story grows so absurd you can't help but laugh. My family can still quote this book 20+ years later, and we still love it. Ever since I was a little girl, I've loved this book. It is however, a better "Read Aloud" book rather than a book a child should try to read on their own. Some of the words are a little tougher for younger kids. Yet still, the alliteration throughout this entire book is amazing! Every word in the book begins with the letter "B." The Berenstain’s B Book Plot: A story about a big, brown, bear and a blue bull and a beautiful baboon and how they broke a baby bird’s balloon. My Thoughts: Not much really to say about this one. It’s a good book to teach a child B words. I’d let my little cousin who just started kindergarten have a stab at it. The funny thing this book made me remember is they are riding backward on a bicycle and I have a memory of someone in my high school who had a car doing the exact same thing down the street in front of the school. I was thinking “Are they driving backward down the street?” Yes, they were! And it shows EXACTLY why you shouldn’t do this either. Rating: 5

Genre: Poetry Grade level: PreK-2nd grade This book was one that I always enjoyed as a kid just because of the way my mom would read it to me. Genre: poetry Grade range: PreK-2 The storyline of this book doesn’t make a whole lot of sense, but it is poetry. Some poetry doesn’t make sense. There were times that I don’t even think a full proper sentence was used. Although it was strange, it used alliteration to create poetry, and that made the book interesting. It caught my attention and kept it as I was reading because of the alliteration.

This book is a good book for new readers; it has simple repetitive words. It is a fun, silly book that is good to use when introducing letter B for young children. The teacher could ask children about the B words they heard in the story after reading it. The book has a good repetition and which will make children able to guess the B-word that is coming up next by looking at the pictures. The illustration is colorful and engaging.

This book was so cute and enjoyable. My daughter laughed out loud while I was reading this to her. The sentences are short, and simple. The use of so many ‘B’ words in a row is funny, and entertaining. The illustrations add to the overall enjoyment of this book. On top of all of this, the book is also, educational. It is teaching the letter ‘B’ to children. This will probably become one of those books we read over and over.

Genre: poetry Reading level: Pre-k While I may not have enjoyed reading this book as much as I hoped, I believe this book would be a great read for kids learning the alphabet. This book offers many words that all begin with the letter B. So while I may have thought it was annoying, it is a great read for children to expand their vocabulary starting at a young age!!

I love books like this. It seems like they're not going to make any sense, but somehow they do. They push you along to get you to read faster and you end up getting tongue tied. They might not be the greatest in literature, but they are fun. I love books like this. It seems like they're not going to make any sense, but somehow they do. This book is great for those who are just starting to read. Throughout the book they use the same words and add two or three more to the next page. Helping student become fluent with these few words.

Poetry K-2 Reading level This book is chucked full of “b” words! It is quite the tongue twister when reading it. That being said, it is a book that is full of charm and I’m sure humor for younger audiences. :)

Early Primary Poetry This is a super simple story (see the alliteration that I did there???). It's a good way to teach the alphabet at the same time as teaching simple poetry. Highly recommend. Also has a cute and simple storyline to follow. Early Primary Poetry This is a super simple story (see the alliteration that I did there???). Had many fun nights when I was a kid having adults read this. I still love this book. It's a blast watching and listening to an adult try to read it without missing a word and without cracking up. Had many fun nights when I was a kid having adults read this. I still love this book.
