When we left Sophie and Tennyson at the end of Breaking Free, they had amicably parted to spread their wings and find their own ways in life. The parting was gut wrenching and emotional (for me, and probably for them too), but done for exactly the right reasons which made it hurt that much more. Her career is just beginning to take off when Sophie discovers that she is pregnant—and that’s exactly where we pick the story back up in With Brave Wings. Her career is just beginning to take off when Sophie discovers that she is pregnant—and that’s exactly where we pick the story back up in With Brave Wings. Sophie is pregnant and Tennyson is the father. This development brings the two of them back together to try to navigate their way through the new boundaries of their relationship. They are…fucking adorable. They care so fiercely for each other and even as they try to make a go of things as just friends and co-parents, it’s heartwarming and touching and a little bit like foreplay because there is very obviously so much chemistry left between them. I don’t even know where to begin with this because I loved Every. Single. Thing. about this book. It’s funny and sweet, deliciously dirty and emotional. My heart ached and then it soared and I probably spent the vast majority of this book grinning stupidly at my kindle because it’s just THAT fucking good. I fell in love over and over again with Sophie and Tennyson (separately and together) and the entire motley crew with which they surrounded themselves. This book took me on quite a journey, but it kept me fully invested in their lives, and the whole thing felt so incredibly authentic to me. It was hard for me to let them go when my kindle insisted the story was over, but the ending could not have been more perfect. This is one that’s going to stick in my heart for a while! ~ Shelly, 5 stars

Sooooo confused by this book. While the writing was good and the characters were very well developed, I have never read a book where the main characters fall OUT of love for a very significant portion of their romance. I'm just so conflicted because I read romance for the romance aspect of the book and this book said multiple times how there was no romance happening because the main characters "didn't feel that was about the other anymore." There were no other partners during separation which is Sooooo confused by this book. In a romance novel we’re supposed to cheer for the couple, wanting them to get together. Well, not this time. I haven’t seen two people so unbelievable wrong for each other in a long time. Their first fight as a couple has her shouldering all the blame and begging for forgiveness even though she had done nothing wrong. Tennyson is the worst. From asking her to not replace him too quickly in the first book, to reminding her that ‘work comes first’ and then dismissing her completely because of irrational jealousy. He hurts her over and over. His reasons are close to sounding like the excuses an abusive boyfriend would use. Like he’s afraid to lose her, the afore mentioned jealousy, and so on. It’s like he’s purposely hitting her where he knows it will hurt the most. When they have sex and his possessive side comes out to play he thinks ‘She knew exactly what to say’. While I can’t be certain I read the unmentioned ‘to calm me down’. I know a lot of abused women who did too, to an extent anyway. Lastly we have Tennyson’s mother, who – when the couple have decided to give it a shot for real – says: You have something to tell me /-/ I gave birth to you. I know you. This coming from someone who kept bringing up his ex from six (if I remember correctly) years ago, trying to get them back together. She even invites her to a dinner out where Tennyson and Sophie’s son is at. She damn well didn’t know him then. For the first time ever I have to say I was glad when the book was over

I am giving a five to this duology as a whole - works great as one if you ask me - loved it very much. No unnecessary drama, attentiveness and communication. A beliavable romance - great side characters too. My five stars is mostly for the great arc this plot had throughout the books. It felt real and lovely. Loved the dynamics. THIS novel is how you do age-gap romance the right way. Up there on the supreme list along Pretty Face.

I was given an advance copy from the author In exchange of an honest review. In Breaking Free it was about finding themselves and this 2nd installment is about finding each other. Love is hard and specially when you think you'll never find it. What an amazing journey of Tennyson and Sophie. Who would've thought a 40-something needed to mature a bit more and learn from someone almost two decades younger than him!!

*4.5 Stars* First, I would say I love the actual story. I felt so much for Sophie and Tennyson. Seeing the rest of the journey was astounding. The character development continued to grow which I didn't think was possible. Once again, it was more than just Sophie and Tennyson, the secondary characters shined even brighter than before. I loved every single second of each character's journey. The world building was less than I normally expect. I think that was more a writing style issue for me. It was rather chopping for my tastes though I can understand why the author chose to do it that way. It just didn't resonate with me, which is why I took a subjective half star away. Overall though the story was excellent, I loved seeing the journey and hope to see even more. This truly is a romance story that is incredibly realistic; it reaches the heart completely.

I gave this book a five star because it just made Sophie real to me. Her struggles with her eating/image disorder, relationship with her father and Tennyson. Sexy scenes were ok. A little bit of dirty talk but very brief.

I am not compensated for my honest opinion.* Sophie Pierce has broken free from her old life. She’s stopped her partying ways, stopped seeking paparazzi attention, paid all her debts, and moved out of her father’s house. But growing up also meant she had to give up the man she was falling for. Now that she’s on her own and making a respectable name for herself, her life is about to change in a major way—again. Watching Sophie become her best self has given Tennyson Wright a push to better his life. No more being a hermit. Tennyson’s getting back to the things he loves in life and reinventing himself. Just as he’s back in the swing of things, shocking news drops into his lap. He’s about to become a father. Co-parenting under normal circumstances is a challenge. But for Sophie and Tennyson, it’s the ultimate trial. Sophie is still learning how to be independent. Tennyson is still learning who he is. They both live in the spotlight. And neither one is ready to deal with the feelings they have for the other. With Brave Wings is the sequel to Breaking Free by Cara Dee. This is not a standalone book. Both of these books were amazing and had me wishing for my very own Tennyson. When we left Sophie and Tennyson at the end of the last book, they both had grown by leaps and bounds and realized continuing their relationship wasn’t in their best interest, no matter how much it hurt to let the other go. As we pick up on their lives a few months later, they’re both just getting to the place where they can be around the other without as much pain, when life throws them a major curveball. Sophie is pregnant, and as the father, Tennyson is back at the forefront of her life. Both main characters still have a lot of growing to do in this story, and they accomplish it in a way that makes the eventual rekindling of their romance much healthier than it would have been otherwise. Sophie can’t focus on having a man in her life when she’s still trying to figure out how to live it on her own, not to mention throwing a baby into the mix. And Tennyson, although older and wiser, had cut himself off from the things he loves and no longer wants to live his life that way. They each embark on their own journey while maintaining and strengthening their friendship with each other. In Sophie’s quest to be independent, she ended up going a bit overboard. She wouldn’t allow anyone to help her, even though sometimes she didn’t want to do everything on her own. She learns to balance independence with letting her friends help and ultimately realizes none of the people she looks up to are able to do everything on their own. Sophie also has some family issues to deal with. Although she’s created a wonderful little family of her own, her father has had a wakeup call and wants to be part of her life again. She’ll have to decide if her heart is big enough for forgiveness. Tennyson stole my heart in the first book, and he takes an even bigger piece in this sequel. The way he loves his son from the moment he finds out he’s going to be a father is so touching it had me in tears. And the way he cares for Sophie, wanting to help her but knowing when to back off, is enough to turn the hardest heart into a sap. Cara Dee also follows through with Tennyson and Sophie embracing their age difference instead of using it as a reason to keep them apart, and the resulting encounters practically melted the pages of my e-reader. The secondary characters were also well-incorporated into the story. I found myself loving the bits and pieces we saw of Brooklyn, Asher, and Noah, and I was thankful for the inclusion of their lives in this story. At the end of the day, this is a celebrity romance, which is one of my favorite things to read. The balance of normal life and fame was perfect, putting With Brave Wings right up near the top of my list of favorite books. For more of my reviews, please visit Rach Lawrence Books.

When last we left Sophie Pierce and Tennyson Wright in Cara Dee’s Breaking Free, the young starlet and the jaded director had reluctantly ended their on set affair. But in With Brave Wings, Fate has other things in mind for the couple, among them, parenthood.  As Sophie’s acting career begins to take off, and Tennyson’s directorial career is once again on the rise, both Sophie and Tennyson reroute their lives to make way for their baby.  Through movie production, promotional tours —  despite all When last we left Sophie Pierce and Tennyson Wright in Cara Dee’s Breaking Free, the young starlet and the jaded director had reluctantly ended their on set affair. But in With Brave Wings, Fate has other things in mind for the couple, among them, parenthood.  As Sophie’s acting career begins to take off, and Tennyson’s directorial career is once again on the rise, both Sophie and Tennyson reroute their lives to make way for their baby.  Through movie production, promotional tours —  despite all the demands entailed in the entertainment industry — both Sophie and Tennyson come together for the welfare of their child, Kayden.  They are doting and loving parents.  Eventually both Sophie and Tennyson recognize that it’s not only their commitment to Kayden that keeps them together, but that their feelings for one another have run deep from the start of their romance.  While Sophie has been bravely finding herself through her own personal journey, Tennyson has rediscovered that there is much to be celebrated in his own life.  Both have learned that, at any age, one can always spread their wings and soar. As Sophie says: “I think I found peace when I stopped running,” she answered pensively. “Goals are amazing to have, but for a long time, I was always chasing something, and I didn’t even know what it was. Answers, maybe. But I realized I will never be finished. I’m a work in progress until the day I die. So I stopped running. I stopped trying to understand life and just live it instead.” In With Brave Wings, author Cara Dee has written a delicious conclusion to Breaking Free. Sophie and Tennyson have great chemistry, and along with that, a healthy respect for one another.  Tennyson stands back as he watches Sophie grow — these two are so good for one another — it puts a smile on the reader’s face. We wait for Sophie and Tennyson to wake up and admit their feelings for one another and when they do, the fireworks (i.e., oh-so-hot sex) light up the night sky. Throughout both books, Dee has written this relationship as a study of healthy growth, one of patience, one without toxicity.  Not completely without some bumps in the road, what exists between Sophie and Tennyson is both believable and refreshing. Backing up her protagonists, author Dee generously gifts us with well-fleshed out secondary characters. Surely Sophie’s best bud, Brooklyn, and Tennyson’s brother, Asher, deserve a book of their own as we've become invested in their story, too.  And least we forget, Cara even gives us a cameo appearance of her Public Display of Everything couple, Flynn and Cory (it’s up to you to read and discover their connection to With Brave Wings). Cara Dee is such a gifted writer  —  her use of chapters being titled by a location gives a real sense of the chaotic life of her characters. These people have busy lives and Dee effectively uses locales and events, combined with jumps in time, to move the story along at a rapid pace.  This reader’s only complaint is that the conclusion of With Brave Wings comes much too soon. Greedy readers everywhere want more! A thoroughly enjoyable contemporary adult story, take some time to read both Breaking Free and With Brave Wings - it’s time well spent. * I was gifted an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review. * ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I have a confession to make: I'm a Caraholic. What started as a showmance became real and deep, and when push came to shove they both renounced what was the first real connection they both had ever had in years. I must admit, I freaking LOVE the fact Cara portrayed these characters as real as possible. There is no drama for the sake of drama, no villain for the sake of evilness, and no sex for the sake of smut. Every plot point of this story happens for a reason, and it was wonderful (though sometimes frustrating) to see Tennyson and Sophie reconnect and fall in love all over again. The Hollywood setting takes a step back to let us see the real people behind the glamour. Kudos to Cara Dee for giving us a glance of how love can be found in the most unusual places, and how worth it is to fight for the ones we love, even when some people *coughs*Mrs.Wright*coughs* think it's not the right person for you. 5 Brilliant Stars for this sequel and one more to grow ;)

I relished Tennyson's maturity and guidance of Sophie and enjoyed her growth from a self-absorbed starlet into a powerful player in Hollywood. And the key to my heart in any romance is always the way they lust after each other but just don't give in right away, yes, we got that too. The glances, the fire they both felt, but didn't satisfy. And oh yeah, a little bit of jealousy. Yes! As co-parents they are a powerhouse couple...and I'm glad the author took her time in showing the reader that these two were perfect together (even though I knew this already hello!!!) With Brave Wings is an incredible sequel and ending to Breaking Free. I absolutely love how much Tennyson and Sophie have grown. I love (and hated one) all of the side characters. They were fully formed and big part of the story. Cara truly knows how to tell a story and pull you in, which she definitely did in this one. Then read this one... it's an amazing story of love, growth, trust, and acceptance.

I was lucky enough to have received this book as an ARC and I loved it. There are so many good parts in this book I can't name them all! If you read the first book you have to read this one. She pulls the emotions from you with her brilliant words. If you read Breaking Free you'll love With Brave Wings! And if you haven't read either what are you waiting for?!?! GO READ!!! You won't regret it!

In Book 2 of the Breaking Free series, we see Tennyson and Sophie as parents who are not romantically involved. . .at first. They have gone their separate ways, but maintain a very supportive and caring relationship. I love what Ms. Cara did with that. And Kayden was simply too cute not to flove. I couldn't help the heart pain that I felt at times when I read of Sophie's sadness that she carried around about her reputation. But of course, Tennyson was there to lift her back up to help her fly ov In Book 2 of the Breaking Free series, we see Tennyson and Sophie as parents who are not romantically involved. . .at first. I have had the honor to read the ARC for both Breaking Free and With Braves Wings! With Breaking Wings did not disappoint!! The continuation of Tennyson and Sophie's story was both beautiful and so sweet! I loved these two!!! For a couple with an age difference they just worked together so well! Cara brought these two together in such a way, you couldn't help but love them together!! I highly recommend this read!!!

Contains spoilers: DNF @30%, the pregnancy storyline was bad enough [pet peeve of mine because it's so over-used], but after they sleep together they don't have a conversation about seeing each other again? Then we have time-jumps, the story just fell apart for me there. The writing itself was good and won't deter me from reading more Cara Dee, but I got frustrated with the storyline in this one.

5 Stars!!! Loved! Loved! Loved! This book. Wow another amazing read. Cara did not disappoint. I did not want this story to end. I was heartbroken at the end of book 1 when Tennyson and Sophie parted ways. This book more than makes up for it. Tennyson and Sophie step into their new roles perfectly. There's love, laughs, and lots of swooning. There wasn't a single moment in this book I disliked.

I enjoyed the sequel With Brave Wings more than the first book Breaking Free. I enjoyed the character development and growth in both Sophie and Tennyson, how they dealth with the public attention and celebrity, unexpected news and found their love to each other despite their age difference. And Tennyson as a father stole my heart! Cara Dee for sure knows her romance!

What a roller coaster of emotions! If there is anything Cara Dee can write it's emotions. The tears that this woman's writing evokes from so many feels is a little scary and a lot crazy. I loved the whole thing and even though I'm so terribly sick I couldn't stop reading.

I loved the first and the sequel didn't disappoint. I loved seeing Sophie grow and mature and become more secure in who she was. She grew as a mother and over came her fears of what people thought of her. Seeing Sophie and Tennyson finally admit their feels was great and the sex scenes were HOT!

There was enough left out to make another book, especially since we missed the birth and first 3 years of their daughters life. I loved their story and just wanted more.

Great ending to this tale of Tennyson and Sophie. The characters continue their love affair and take you on a journey of misunderstandings, babies and finding true love. Cara has introduced you to other characters in this story and I hope she continues with Asher and Brooklyn.

had everything, the growth, the conflict, the pushes and the pulls, the misunderstandings, the surprises, and everything wrapped up - liked that it was told over the span of a few years, it made sense for the story and it definitely kept me from putting it down
