I was given a copy of the ARC for an honest review. This book was very different from what I expected. It is very different from any other werewolf book I have read. At times I felt there was too many different characters separate strands going on in the story. Eventually I realized why they were important to the story. The police have a number of murders both men and women. With the men they seemed to have been mauled and killed by a wild animal such as a dog. The hair they find is red, but it I was given a copy of the ARC for an honest review. This book was very different from what I expected. It is very different from any other werewolf book I have read. The police have a number of murders both men and women. With the men they seemed to have been mauled and killed by a wild animal such as a dog. The hair they find is red, but it is not human. A teen age boy whose two friends where killed told the police that it was a giant wolf that killed his friends. So all the men they find looked like that had been killed by a wild animal. The women were murdered by a human. As they investigated they find that all the men have abused, mistreated, raped and or killed women. It was as if someone was killing the men for what they did to women. You will need to read the book to see how this all comes together. If you are interested in a different take on werewolves then I recommend this book as a good read for you.

I received a complimentary copy of Bloodlines. Overall, it was an interesting read albeit 'light' as far as a horror story goes. I enjoyed the re-telling and reinvention of the werewolf story. I found the characters to be interesting but not captivating. By the time I was half way through the novel, I was fairly bored and began speed reading just to get to the end. When I finally reached the end, I was left quite disappointed. There was no 'big' ending to have a satisfying read and there really I received a complimentary copy of Bloodlines. There was no 'big' ending to have a satisfying read and there really wasn't enough interest generated to get to me in the "I can't wait to read the second book"mode. I'm a Gothic horror fan: I grew up reading Poe and Lovecraft. I was left wanting more. If you like a quick and light horror story, this is a good book for reading while getting your hair done or on the beach for an afternoon. A very easy and quick read.

Excellent read I was curious and wondered if this would be another werewolf book but I was truly amazed. I couldn't sleep and had to keep reading to find out what happens next. This would make a great series and was my first by Lorraine Taylor. Great characters and the storyline was great. Truly unique and different!!!!

Bloodlines I would have given 5 stars but for me, the story started out slow and confusing. Trying to keep up with the characters and what each was doing. About half way into the book, it started flowing. I liked that it wasn't your typical werewolf story. I would read more from this author and look forward to the next book.
