A good selection of ghost stories A good book of ghost stories around the London area. Some minor typo errors within the book. In one story the a woman's name changes from Angelina to Shelly and back again a couple of times, which is confusing. But other than that, an enjoyable read. Interesting stories Enjoyed reading about England's haunted spots. Not a scary ghost story but an interesting insight as to why some areas are more haunted than others. Although R. H. Manning's "True Ghost Stories" is most certainly not at all well composed in terms of grammar and syntax, the overall content is nonetheless quite chilling and more or less well conveyed. A number of reviewers have completely dismissed the book out of hand since its initial publication, of course; presumably because any sense of the proper use of punctuation seems to have almost entirely eluded the author of this true paranormal collection, but I for one found it to be a delightfu Although R. H. Manning's "True Ghost Stories" is most certainly not at all well composed in terms of grammar and syntax, the overall content is nonetheless quite chilling and more or less well conveyed. A number of reviewers have completely dismissed the book out of hand since its initial publication, of course; presumably because any sense of the proper use of punctuation seems to have almost entirely eluded the author of this true paranormal collection, but I for one found it to be a delightful read just the same. Yes, at first glance, Mr. Manning's work does come off as rather disjointed, and even somewhat unprofessional, with countless instances of the habitual use of commas and question marks where periods should have been, but I've definitely (and unfortunately) seen a whole lot worse in the e-publishing world, that's for darned sure. Yet the book is still a more than adequately spine tingling and thoroughly hair raising affair. To be sure, not all the stories will keep you up at night, but quite a few almost certainly will. I myself found many of these terror filled tales to be not only highly memorable, but genuinely frightening. And coming from an avid, somewhat jaded and perhaps even greatly desensitized ghost story reader like yours truly, that's really saying something. Now, I guess I cannot in all honesty give the author's poorly edited ghost story compendium a full five star rating, but I think it's worth noting that if the manuscript were to be properly revised and polished, I most certainly could give it much higher marks. And that too, I really do believe, is saying something. So my advice to any and all potential readers is to not expect too much in the way of perfect prose, but to just enjoy the good goose bump inducing fun that R. H. Manning really does, almost miraculously perhaps, still manage to deliver. Despite all those curiously punctuated sentences, that is.

A Wide Variety of Paranormal Encounters For the cost, this book covers hauntings , paranormal encounters, and active locations in and around London. London has more history than most cities and has some macabre events in so many locations. I was pleased to read about encounters from the benign to the much more frightening malevolent occurrences. The author enriches the accounts with a deep knowledge of the stories, locations, events, and likely causes of the phenomenon!

True Ghost Stories: Terrifying Horror For those who like to read about more current or less well known paranormal activity in the greater London area.. Full of stories that were new to me and quite interesting told. There are a number of missing or misspelled words, but they didn't cause me to be distracted from the story. The storytelling was generally well paced, and flowed nicely. Minor editing would make it a very solid work. Terrible Writing Ruined Stories I'm forced to write 20 words in order to warn others not to spend any amount of money of this book. It reads like the writing assignment of a 3rd grade D English student. The writing is so horrific I cannot get past it to actually enjoy the stories. As far as books of this kind go this one was actually quite enjoyable. Basically just taking a haunted location tour around London in book form. I would recommend, but not super highly.
