I have to admit I am not from Arkansas, nor do I have any connection to the area--so when I tell you this was an enjoyable biography, just believe me. I read the summary of this book on Amazon and was instantly interested. Ms. Campbell was smart in picking this 'local legend' to detail the life of. She is sure to detail Perkins' basic history and interests, as well as his eccentricities both professionally and personally. Well researched, including an interview with one of Rex's daughters, this I have to admit I am not from Arkansas, nor do I have any connection to the area--so when I tell you this was an enjoyable biography, just believe me. I just want to say that the 1-star ratings on this book are hate acts performed by people who are trying to harm me personally because of my political views on a law under consideration in the Arkansas Senate. These ratings have nothing to do with the book but Goodreads refuses to remove them despite multiple explanations of why they are here.
