This was a pretty good read. I got this book at a booksigning and was so glad I did. Rob and his friends have a horror movie marathon during Halloween weekend. This would be the last one they would have as his friends are moving on to bigger and better things. What they don't realize is that a serial killer followed them to the party and plans to kill them. Will they survive or is this the end of the horror movie society? Read this book and find out. This book is available on amazon and at http: This was a pretty good read. Halloween night, mid 90s, six guys, friends since college days, get together for their annual horror movie marathon. What they don't know is that they are about to live (or die) through a horror movie of their own. There is a serial killer lurking right outside their window. And he's ready to play. This was a loving ode to the slasher films of the 80s and 90s, a literally equivalent of a B horror flick. Nothing epic writing wise, but entertaining and a very quick, less then an hour, read. The bond formed between horror lovers is strong. Scream Queens, and classic kill scenes. There is something special about finding another person who gets just as excited as you do when the new issue of Fangoria arrives in the mail. The Society was formed when it’s six members met in college, and their monthly ‘meetings’ soon became 24 hour movie marathons filled with classic 80’s horror, and fast food. It became impossible to find the time for meetings once they graduated, so everyone was excited for their first reunion. What the six members don’t realize is that while they are inside watching movies, an escaped serial killer is lurking right outside of the living room window. He is watching the movies with them, and he’s taking notes. The first reunion of The Horror Movie Society might also be it’s last. Full review posted on BBB.

This is a short novel that on one level tells the story of 6 horror movie fans succumbing to the ultimate horror movie villain; but is also about the choices we make as we mature, as we put away our childhood desires for the requirements of being an adult. Filled with wonderful details from classic 80's horror films. Really more novella than full-length novel, the concept is all based on the typical horror movie. In the story, a group of friends get together for a reunion of their "society" in which they have a marathon viewing party of horror movies. Unbeknownst to them, a serial killer is stalking them individually. There are lots of horror movie jokes and spoof-y ideas here. From the cover harkening back to chiller theatre opening with the six fingered hand, to the cinematic ending, Patton delivers the goods. A great horror novella, with violence, gore and a decent story. Highly enjoyable.

A great idea for a story and a really fun book for 80's horror fans. A great idea for a story and a really fun book for 80's horror fans.

A very fun read with in-jokes for the horror film fan

This short book made me feel nostalgic for early 90s late 80s horror movie marathons. It is an ode to slashers, cheesy fun, and a serial killer.
