No matter how privileged his upbringing and how protected he has been, Prince Harry has certainly lived life. This biography covers it all, starting from his early years; the breakdown of his parents' marriage; the death of his mother, Diana, Princess of Wales; his relationships with Chelsy Davy, his father, and Camilla Parker Bowles; his time at Sandhurst and serving on the front line in Afghanistan; his charity walk to the North Pole; his partying; his first solo tour; and those naked photos from Las Vegas. This is a wonderfully respectful, insightful, and thoughtful biography. Some might argue that a thirty-year-old has not done enough in his life to merit a nearly-300-page book, but this would not hold up in argument about Prince Harry. His relatively short life has encompassed so many things: war; love; humanitarian deeds; joy; grief; responsibility; and frivolity. His relatively short life has encompassed so many things: war; love; humanitarian deeds; joy; grief; responsibility; and frivolity. Anyone could have followed his exploits - both the wild and the understated - through the media reports of his actions, but what is so beautiful about this book is how it does not rely on the knowledge people may have gleaned from these snippets, but instead goes in-depth, using research and interviews to present a very well-rounded and informative portrait of the man who has been called, alternatively, "the spare" and "the Party Prince." Ms. Moody deftly illustrates why these nicknames do not do him justice. All the same, the book is in serious need of an editor. So many elementary mistakes that could have been avoided with just one close reading (I was available for the job), and that distracted from the very readable tale. For that reason, this did not earn a full complement of stars. But still - a truly excellent biography. Well done.

I really liked this book. It's well-balanced and shows Harry as a likeable, multi-dimensional human being. I'm not a royal watcher, so this book told me a lot of things I didn't already know. Needs some editing, but really impressed with his accomplishments at such a young age.

A very informative biography of Prince Harry while at the same time, being an easy "non-boring" quick read for those who read very little biography. A very informative biography of Prince Harry while at the same time, being an easy "non-boring" quick read for those who read very little biography.
