They believe that we aren't smart enough to run our own lives so they need to pass laws for our own good. The Constitution and amendments give us a list of rights the government and each citizen has. The Left and even some on the Right seem to think the government should be our nanny. But the government has no constitutional right to force us to buy things like health insurance according to Obama-care. They have no right to tell us were to live or what we do with our own property. What right does the government have to regulate the price of milk? Why would they even want too? How can the government pass laws against owning guns when we have a RIGHT to bear arms. Napolitano discusses many things like this in this small book. It is in a question and answer format. It takes some pretty deep subjects and explains them so they are accessible to the average reader. He shows how the supreme court has over turned our law making process, by making legislating from the bench. These are things forbidden in the constitution. Even though it is easy to read, it does not skimp on content. I highly recommend this book. It is a great read. On that note, I believe I have read every book of Judge Napolitano's. His typical writing style is very dry and academic in its' approach which makes for very long, but necessary reading. This was not the case with this book. He was much lighter in his writing style. Almost as though he did a 180 degree turn in his writing style! It was to the point that I thought it might be written for high school or early collegiate reading. As I delved in deeper to the book, it was evident that this was not the case. In my opinion, this is a must read for every American. Furthermore, as Judge Napolitano is a staunch Libertarian, I think that this is a book that individuals from every political party known to the United States will be able to take something from. On a final note, this was not a huge book. I think it was less than 150 pages. The book flowed like water due to the Judge's concise style of writing though.

I'm a huge fan of "The Judge", so when I saw this on NetGalley, I got excited. He never fails to teach the importance of understanding our government, our Constitution and why it matters. The Freedom Answer Book is a quick read, a thorough primer, written in a straight-forward, no-nonsense (and a touch of sarcastic) way. Judge Napolitano writes a great history lesson on a level that anyone can understand. Topics included are: Constitutional basics, Natural Rights, rights and freedoms that are being violated - taught by particularly highlighting the overstepping of our Supreme Court in Q&A format. The conclusion offers practical things the States need to change and a copy of the Constitution. My personal favorite part of this book is the section on Natural Law v. Positivism, a subject rarely discussed, but is crucial in understanding our freedom - every political discussion, every individual "issue" hinges upon a proper understanding of rights. Judge Napolitano sums it up in a clear, easy to understand way. 5/5 stars. I highly recommend this. (Would also make a great high school level homeschooling resource.) Andrew Napolitano (The Judge), once again shows his intense knowledge of the Constitution, its original intent, as well as the way today's government has grossly misinterpreted it to our determine. In this fairly short book (272 Pages), the Judge asks the questions we the people should be asking. This book is vignettes of Constitutionaility in the form of question and answer. The answers are concise, well documented an The Freedom Answer Book is a great book by one of today's true free thinkers. Andrew Napolitano (The Judge), once again shows his intense knowledge of the Constitution, its original intent, as well as the way today's government has grossly misinterpreted it to our determine. In this fairly short book (272 Pages), the Judge asks the questions we the people should be asking. This book is vignettes of Constitutionaility in the form of question and answer. The answers are concise, well documented and referenced. The Judge, being a stalwart supporter of the Constitution, and being a mouthpiece for neither side of the two party dictatorship we have today, delivers equal crushing criticism to all without any concern for political party association or political correctness. The chapters cover everything from freedom of speech to what to change in the Constitution and everything in between. It has a great detailed discussion about Natural Law v. Positive Law, a subject that is ever present in all of Napolitano's books. It shows how the constant desire to move away from Natural Law recognition to the more progressive, Positive Law has been one of, if not the biggest cause of the problem with this country today. The Judge references case law where the Legislative Branch has far exceeded it original intent and how such legal blunder affected us at the moment as well as how its effects have carried on well beyond their time to continue to harm us today. I may have a bias view of this book. Politically, Napolitano is one of political heroes. I am often asked what role I would like for him to play in politics today, frankly, I wish I clone him to have in in every branch of government. I would love to see him appointed to the Supreme Court. The best part of the book is in the "Conclusion". Napolitano goes over what the states need to do. With a Constitutionl amendment change the following: 1. Change "We the People" in the preamble to "We the States" 2. Change Article VIII "To regulate Commerce among the serveral States" should be changed to "To keep commerce regular..." 3. The 10th should the word "Expressly" 4. Repeal 16th Amendment 5. Repeal 17th Amendment

It is also helpful to see what you can do to change how the government is currently run. I gave this book 5/5. I thought the explanations were very easy to understand.     The Judge has done it again. Great book. I don't know what he has planned for in the future, but he left Fox News Radio several years ago. The show that was "Brian and the Judge" is now "Kilmede and Friends" I can remember back in the Bush Admin, Napolitano railing against the things that they were doing that violated the Constitution.     Very interesting, very informative, a must read for anyone remotely interested in Freedom, especially one's individual freedom. Sad also, to see how far (very far) we have strayed from the original Constitution and Bill of Rights as perceived by the Founding Fathers. Either we get back on track, or anything of value we can leave to our children and grand-children will be naught.     I had the opportunity to attend the judge's lectures this summer and it was something I'll never forget. Great charismatic guy.     Another good book by the Judge. Although I did not agree on all the Judge's points, I do believe many of the programs I do like are unconstitutional and should be made so by amendment, as the Constitution calls for.
