Another addicting series! Have finished listening to #'s 1-9. Have been generally saving the audio books for times when I have migraine headaches. However, I haven't needed to lie in the dark with eyes closed! Hey! Progress! Now I get a bedtime story! Just started # 10 last night. + # 12 is out.

One of the best series of books I have read. Highly recommend but be careful, highly addicting. Once I start a book, any book by James Patterson, it is hard to put down.

Love Lindsay Boxer and the gang. You feel like your part of it trying to work out who did it and what is going to happen next in their personal lives. You get to feel like you really know the characters. I thoroughly recommend all the womens murder club books

OVERALL: ~3.2 Stars 1st to Die (Women's Murder Club #1) - 4 Stars Lindsay Boxer is an inspector with the San Francisco Police Department and is on the trail of a deranged serial killer targeting couples right after they get married. While battling her own personal issues, Lindsay has to push through to be able to catch the killer before more people die. While on the case she soon discovers a group of women that help her out more than she ever thought they would. I thought it was interesting that Ja OVERALL: ~3.2 Stars 1st to Die (Women's Murder Club #1) - 4 Stars Lindsay Boxer is an inspector with the San Francisco Police Department and is on the trail of a deranged serial killer targeting couples right after they get married. While battling her own personal issues, Lindsay has to push through to be able to catch the killer before more people die. While on the case she soon discovers a group of women that help her out more than she ever thought they would. I thought it was interesting that James Patterson choose to write about a group of women, each in very male dominating careers, but thriving all the same. He was able to embody the inequality and give the women a strength of character that really elevated them. I really enjoyed reading this book. It was very fast paced and kept me on the edge of my seat until the very end. There were definitely some characters I liked better than others, definitely Lindsay, she was dynamic and strong. 2nd Chance (Women's Murder Club #2) - 3 Stars Months after the first book, Lindsay Boxer is just trying to get her life back in order. When a series of murders target the African american community Lindsay brings the girls back together to try and figure out the identity of the killer before more bodies start piling up. Not as good as the first book but I was still interested in the story and characters. I like Lindsay Boxer and her fearless attitude. I like the twists and turns in the plot that Patterson presents, the reader never really knows where the story is going or how it is going to end. 3rd Degree (Women's Murder Club #3) - 4 Stars War is on. Lindsay finds herself in the middle of yet another series of kills and this time the killer is bent on starting a war. I actually enjoyed this book a lot more than the other ones in the series so far. This one kept me on the edge of my seat the whole entire time and I felt as a reader I was more interested in this plot line the the others. There were also a lot of surprises in this book for me regarding the characters. Some of the plot points went by really fast but Patterson was still able to keep the reader (or at least me) invested in the overall story. 4th of July (Women's Murder Club #4) - 2.5 Stars As a case comes back to haunt Lindsay from her past, Lindsay's life is turned upside down with one decision. This has been my least favorite book of the series. Following from what happened in the last book I felt some of the characters were done a disservice (view spoiler)[It felt to me reading the book that Patterson was trying to replace Jill right away with Yuki (hide spoiler)] This book was also the slowest yet out of all of them. I did really like Lindsay's progression in relationship with Joe. She also has the worst case of luck out of anyone I have ever heard of. If this much stuff has happen to her within four books I can't wait to see how she survives the rest of the series. The 5th Horseman (Women's Murder Club #5) - 3 Stars Someone is taking on the role of Angel of Death at the San Francisco Municipal Hospital and Lindsay and her girls need to figure out who. It becomes personal for one of the team when simple human error just cannot be ignored any longer. In another part of town, three girls dressed for success meet an untimely death. Not a very involved story, it dragged on a bit for my taste. A lot of the plots points seemed like they were missed, especially concerning the hospital line. I liked how Yuki was featured more in the book. I am frustrated by the relationship between Joe and Lindsay. The 6th Target (Women's Murder Club #6) - 3 Stars When one of the Women's Murder Club woman is hurt the rest of the crew step up to the plate to ensure justice prevails. At the same time there are a series of child kidnappings running rampant throughout the city, the strange thing for those . . . no ransom. I get Patterson is trying to make a dramatic story but does every book have to have a personal tragedy for the main characters?!? Come on!!! There is not that much bad luck in a group of people ever. I have to say, I'm a little hooked on Conklin . . . 7th Heaven (Women's Murder Club #7) - 3 Stars When a terrible fire kills a wealthy couple the case hits home for Investigator Rich Conklin. He knew the couple and their daughter growing up and will do everything in his power to see that the perpetrators are caught. His partner, Lindsay Boxer, agrees with him. This book was all over the place for me. I did not find the hook that Patterson's plots usually have. The 8th Confession (Women's Murder Club #8) - 3 Stars When the famous and wealthy are dying under mysterious circumstances, ME, Claire, and Sergeant, Lindsay Boxer are stumped. This is certainly a case of be careful who you let into your house. This one was a weird one for me. I was having some trouble with the flow of the story.

This is a good series involving a little bit of everything in the mystery/thriller genre. The women of the Women's Murder Club include a homicide detective, a lawyer, a medical examiner, and a reporter. Each person has a voice in these books so you get a little of a legal thriller, some forensics, and detective work. All strong women who go through different challenge in their personal lives, a little romance, personal illness, loss of a loved one, etc. They support each other through it all. If you're in the series for the long haul, this installment is better fare than some of the previous novels, but nowhere near as interesting as the first few. A quick read with some good moments. Enjoy
